IOHIDCheckAccess(kIOHIDRequestTypeListenEvent) does not work
I have an app that needs Input Monitoring permissions to get keyboard access in the background. I've attempted to use both IOHIDCheckAccess(kIOHIDRequestTypeListenEvent) and IOHIDRequestAccess(kIOHIDRequestTypeListenEvent), but they always return denied, even though I have given the permission for Input Monitoring to the app in Settings. Is there something I need to put in my Info.plist to enable this permission to work?

iOS 26 regression: `DeviceActivityEvent`: `eventDidReachThreshold` called immediately (instead of waiting till threshold is reached)
Hello Albert! I am experiencing some strange bugs around DeviceActivityEvents (part of the DeviceActivity framework) on iOS 26 / iOS 26.1 / iOS 26.2 beta: When creating a DeviceActivityEvent we can assign a threshold and applicationTokens. The idea is, that after the user has spent said threshold on said apps, eventDidReachThreshold() is called. The property includesPastActivity is set to false. On iOS 26 however, it happens (quite reliably after updating to a new beta seed) quite often that eventDidReachThreshold() is called immediately (after a couple of seconds) instead of waiting for the threshold to be met. Is anyone else seeing similar issues on iOS 26 / iOS 26.1 / iOS 26.2 beta? Only workaround I have found is to ask users to revoke and re-grant Screen Time permissions. This only holds for about two weeks though or at most until the next iOS 26 beta update is installed, so it is not a permanent solution unfortunately. Feedback (incl. sysdiagnoses and sample project) is filed under: FB18061981 FB18927456 One of our users has filed their own feedback request as well: FB20817853 Thanks a lot for any help on this!

VoiceOver Not Scrolling to Focused TableView Cell
I have a view dynamically overlaid on a UITableView with proper padding (added when certain conditions are met). When VoiceOver focuses on a cell beneath this overlay, the focused element does not scroll into view. I’ve noticed similar behavior in Apple’s first-party Podcasts app. Please find the attached image for reference. How can I resolve this issue and ensure VoiceOver scrolls the focused cell into view?

iOS VoiceOver Does Not Remove :focus-visible from Button When Moving to Non-Button Elements
When using iOS VoiceOver to navigate a webpage, selecting a element correctly activates the :focus-visible state. However, when VoiceOver moves to a non-button element (such as a or ), the previously focused button retains its :focus-visible state. The focus indicator only updates when VoiceOver moves to another . This behavior can be confusing for screen reader users, as it creates the appearance of multiple elements being focused simultaneously. It also differs from expected keyboard navigation behavior, where focus styles typically update as soon as the user moves to a new interactive element. Is this an intentional VoiceOver behavior, or could this be a bug? If intentional, is there a recommended workaround to ensure correct focus indication when moving between different types of elements? Steps to Reproduce: Enable VoiceOver on an iOS device. Navigate using swipe gestures or explore-by-touch to focus on a . Observe that the button correctly receives the :focus-visible styling. Move to a non-button element (e.g., a with tabindex="0" or an ). Notice that the button still retains its :focus-visible state, even though VoiceOver has moved to a new element. Expected Behavior: The previously focused should lose its :focus-visible state when VoiceOver moves to a different interactive element, just as it does when using keyboard navigation. Actual Behavior: The :focus-visible state remains on the previously focused button unless VoiceOver moves to another . This can create confusion by displaying multiple focus indicators at once. Tested On: iOS 17.7, 18.3.1 iOS Safari iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max

CFPrefsPlistSource Read Error with App Group Preferences
I am encountering the following issue while working with app group preferences in my Safari web extension: Couldn't read values in CFPrefsPlistSource<0x3034e7f80> (Domain: [MyAppGroup], User: kCFPreferencesAnyUser, ByHost: Yes, Container: (null), Contents Need Refresh: Yes): Using kCFPreferencesAnyUser with a container is only allowed for System Containers, detaching from cfprefsd. I am trying to read/write shared preferences using UserDefaults with an App Group but keep running into this error. Any guidance on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated! Has anyone encountered this before? How can I properly configure my app group preferences to avoid this issue?

SpaceBar Not functioning as expected
When I am doing a file search, in TextEdit, and on certain webistes the space bar will quit functioning as soon as i start typing. If I hold down the "Option" key it allows the space bar to work as normal. I have checked every setting I can think of and nothing has helped.

RTT call option and confirmation dialog missing when dialing emergency numbers
Hello, In our app we provide a button that initiates a phone call using tel://. For normal numbers, tapping the button presents the standard iOS confirmation sheet with Call and Cancel. If RTT is enabled on the device, the sheet instead shows three options: Call, Cancel, and RTT Call. However, when dialing a national emergency number, this confirmation dialog does not appear at all — the call is placed immediately, without giving the user the choice between voice or RTT. Is this the expected system behavior for emergency numbers on iOS?
And if so, how does RTT get applied in the emergency-call flow — is it managed entirely by the OS rather than exposed as a user-facing option? Thanks in advance for clarifying.

iPadOS 26 Floating Keyboard jumping up and down
Using the floating keyboard extensively. Often It starts to jump up and down. I have to pinch out to see the large version and pinch in again to restore the floating version. Sometimes just touching a key sets it off. Sometimes returning to a window from which the keyboard is displayed starts the issue. This was never a problem in ipad os 18.

Solo Developer User Feedback Avenues
I have a couple follow up questions after the "Accessibility technologies group lab". I know it was briefly mentioned that user feedback is an excellent way to grow inclusivity in the design an app and utilizing these forums were one for example. Is inviting folks here on the forum via test flight a reasonable approach to this for a solo developer? Are there other strategies, avenues, or examples to promote user feedback?

Why does the macOS window sharing indicator appear for some windows but not others?
On recent versions of macOS, when a window is being shared (via the system screen-capture APIs), the OS sometimes shows a small "shared window" badge in the title bar. I’ve noticed that this indicator is not consistent: For some windows, the badge reliably appears when they are being shared. For other windows, the badge never appears, even though the window is actively shared. In particular, windows that use a standard system title bar seem to show the indicator more often, while windows with custom-drawn or non-standard chrome do not. My questions are: What are the exact conditions under which macOS decides to draw the “shared window” indicator in a window’s title bar? Is this strictly tied to certain NSWindow styles or masks (e.g. titled vs borderless)? Is there any API or flag I can use to detect programmatically whether a given window will display this system indicator when shared?

When using UIScrollView and UITextView together, inserting a link causes the following text to disappear.
Since UITextView does not support the zoom function, the zoom function of UITextView with addSubview is used in UIScrollView. However, when I use the link here, the text behind it is missing. Ex) https://appstoreconnect.apple.com/login\nApple Developer Login -> The text “Apple Developer Login” does not appear. If anyone has experienced the same problem as me or knows a solution, please leave a comment. Note) It is working normally in iOS16, but the text behind the link disappears in iOS18. The text is not visible, but you can copy it and paste it to retrieve the missing text.

Voice-over mode issues
Added a view controller in the storyboard, added a tableview in this view, and added a cell under the table, when I run the APP to jump to the page, when using the narration function, I find that when I use three fingers to swipe up or down, a sentence will be broadcast in English, I want to no longer change the accessiblity of the cell, when I perform the behavior of swiping up or down with three fingers, Broadcast how Chinese should be implemented.

VoiceOver and limited vision approaches for custom stepper control
I have a product for designing particle emitters, which I suspect may be of limited interest to people with limited vision. I'd still like to ensure I'm doing a good job with VoiceOver mode. There's a related, simplified sample online, if you want to look at the code As you can see from the picture below, a large part of the interface mimics Xcode's particle editor, with many value entry controls that combine up/down buttons with a tappable label. Tapping the label goes into edit mode. Apart from changing how labels are stepped through in voiceover in my app, how should I handle these stepper buttons? Is this a good place to use a Custom Rotor?

The accessibility app keeps opening by itself on my iPhone 12 Pro. Can anyone please help me?
It’s very annoying but on my iPhone 12 Pro I keep getting the accessibility app with the microphone on and it keeps opening the app by itself and it’s a blank screen and every time I close it it just reopens. I don’t know why it keeps doing this, but it drives me crazy. Does anyone know what else to do? I also have the beta iOS 26 but it’s been doing this even with the past update.

BLE Device Not Appearing in Scan List on iOS After Name Change
I'm encountering an issue related to BLE device discovery on iOS. I have a BLE peripheral device that I initially connected to using an iOS device. After this connection, the BLE device's advertised name was programmatically changed by the peripheral. Now, when I try to scan for this device using other iOS devices, it does not appear in the scan results in most apps — including nRF Connect and our own custom BLE app that uses CoreBluetooth. A few observations: The device is definitely powered on and advertising (confirmed via Android). The name change is reflected correctly on Android and on the iOS device that originally connected to it. Other iOS devices no longer see the device in their scan list.

Add custom emoji tags
Allow the user to add their own tags to the default emoji tags. For instance, this emoji, for me, is nonna: 🤌🏻. My efficiency would improve immensely if I could search for it as the “Nonna” emoji, rather than searching for nonna, remembering it doesn’t exist, trying the search for other things it might be called, realising I don’t know what it is, then having to scroll through all the hand emojis twice to find it. 🤌🏻🤞🏼👌
