How to Enable com.apple.developer.pushkit.unrestricted-voip Entitlement for Production App?
We are developing a walkie-talkie style iOS app using CallKit and PushKit for real-time voice communication. The app is intended for internal company use and requires unrestricted VoIP push capabilities to reliably deliver incoming call alerts, even in background or locked states. Our app's use case follows Apple’s guidelines, and we are not using PushKit for messaging or background data. We have already enabled "Push Notifications" in Capabilities and confirmed the provisioning profile, but are unable to enable com.apple.developer.pushkit.unrestricted-voip. Could someone from Apple or the community advise on the current process to request this entitlement for a production app? Unable to Receive APNs Device Token in Unity iOS App Despite Proper Configuration
I’m currently developing an iOS app built in Unity, exported to Xcode for signing and deployment. The app needs to register for Apple Push Notifications (APNs) to retrieve the device token and register it with a backend service (PlayFab). Despite enabling the required capabilities and entitlements, the app never receives a device token — the authorization request succeeds, but the token remains empty (req.DeviceToken is null in Unity). I’ve confirmed that the issue occurs before PlayFab or Firebase are involved, meaning the app never receives the token from Apple Push Notification service (APNs) itself. The Unity script I am using is: #if UNITY_IOS using UnityEngine; using Unity.Notifications.iOS; using PlayFab; using PlayFab.ClientModels; using System.Collections; using System; public class iOSPushInit : MonoBehaviour { private const int MaxRetries = 5; private const float RetryDelay = 2f; // seconds void Start() { Debug.Log("🛠 iOSPushInitDebug starting..."); StartCoroutine(RequestAuthorizationAndRegister()); } private IEnumerator RequestAuthorizationAndRegister() { // Request Alert + Badge + Sound permissions and register for remote notifications var authOptions = AuthorizationOption.Alert | AuthorizationOption.Badge | AuthorizationOption.Sound; using (var req = new AuthorizationRequest(authOptions, true)) { Debug.Log("⏳ Waiting for user authorization..."); while (!req.IsFinished) { yield return null; } Debug.Log($"🔔 Authorization finished at {DateTime. Now}: granted={req.Granted}, error={req.Error}"); if (!req.Granted) { Debug.LogError("❌ User denied notification permissions! Cannot get APNs token."); yield break; } // Authorization granted → check for device token int attempt = 0; string token = req.DeviceToken; Debug.Log($"req.DeviceToken: {req.DeviceToken}"); while (string.IsNullOrEmpty(token) && attempt < MaxRetries) { attempt++; Debug.Log($"ℹ️ APNs token not available yet. Attempt {attempt}/{MaxRetries}. Waiting {RetryDelay} seconds..."); yield return new WaitForSeconds(RetryDelay); token = req.DeviceToken; } if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(token)) { Debug.LogWarning("⚠️ APNs token still null after multiple attempts. Try again on next app launch."); yield break; } Debug.Log($"📱 APNs Token acquired at {DateTime. Now}: {token}"); // Register with PlayFab var request = new RegisterForIOSPushNotificationRequest { DeviceToken = token, SendPushNotificationConfirmation = false }; PlayFabClientAPI.RegisterForIOSPushNotification(request, result => Debug.Log("✅ APNs token successfully registered with PlayFab."), error => Debug.LogError("❌ Failed to register APNs token with PlayFab: " + error.GenerateErrorReport())); } } } #endif When running on a real device (not simulator), the following is logged in Xcode: 🔔 Authorization finished: granted=True, error= ℹ️ APNs token not yet available. Try again on next app launch. In the Xcode console, I do not see the expected APNs registration message: [Device] Registered for remote notifications with token: <...> Environment Details: Engine: Unity 6000.2.6f2 Notifications package: com.unity.mobile.notifications 2.4.2 Xcode: 16.4 (16F6) iOS Device: iPhone 12, iOS 26.0.1 Testing Method: Building directly from Unity → Xcode → real device Signing mode: Automatic (with correct Team selected) Certificates in account: Apple Development certificate (active) Apple Distribution certificate (active) Provisioning Profile: Type: App Store (also tested Development profile) Enabled Capabilities: Push Notifications, In-App Purchase App ID Capabilities: Push Notifications: Enabled Development SSL certificate: Present Production SSL certificate: Not generated (yet) Background Modes -> remote notifications What I Have Verified: ✅ Push Notifications capability is enabled in the Xcode target (not UnityFramework). ✅ Team and Bundle Identifier match my Apple Developer App ID. ✅ App ID has Push Notifications enabled in the Developer Portal. ✅ Tested on a real iOS device with working internet. ✅ Rebuilt and reinstalled app after enabling Push Notifications. ✅ Authorization dialog appears and permission is granted by user. How can I resolve this issue?

AccessoryNotification Demo
I am planning to run the AccessoryNotifications framework on xcode26.4 and ios26.4, please refer to the documentation https://developer.apple.com/documentation/accessorynotifications I couldn't find a complete demo, but I found a demo based on AccessorySetup Kit, ASK Sample https://docs-assets.developer.apple.com/published/89f5eef578ef/SettingUpAndAuthorizingABluetoothAccessory.zip. So I plan to practice the entire process of AccessoryNotifications based on this demo. Find accessories based on ASK Sample and connect them, OK Call requestForwarding (for:), OK Add AccessoryData Provider extension to receive system notifications But this step failed. I added an extension according to the documentation, but the following method will not be executed func activate(for session: NotificationsForwarding.Session) func add(notification: AccessoryNotification alertingContext: AlertingContext, alertCoordinator: AlertCoordinating) {} I found the following error log in console.app Error 16:38:17.582340+0800 usernotificationsd ### XPC DAEventExtension decode failed: DAExtensionSession: CID 0x89B80004, DAExtensionSessionConfiguration 'AB83C506-9F35-40FB-9A68-919D43B4D098': BundleID 'com.sifli.ASKSample', DAErrorDomain:350001 'DAExtensionEvent init bad type: 42' I have tried many methods to send messages to the testing phone, local Notifications, We can't even trigger the AccessoryData Provider, activate:for, add:notification: 1.Do I have to add the following two extensions according to the document in order to debug successfully? Need Clarification on Using Location Push Service Extension for Firefighter Check-In/Check-Out
I’m building a firefighter app that needs to automatically check in a firefighter when they arrive at the station and check them out when they leave — even if the app is killed. We need reliable enter/exit detection, low latency, and only one fixed location per user. We’re evaluating Region Monitoring, which works in the killed state but may introduce delays and inconsistent accuracy. To ensure mission-critical reliability, we are considering the Location Push Service Extension, since it can fetch precise location on demand and wake the extension even when the app is terminated. Before requesting the restricted entitlement, we need clarification on Apple’s expectations: Is Region Monitoring recommended for this fixed-location use case? Would Apple consider approving the Location Push Service Extension for a public-safety workflow? What prerequisites do we need before submitting the entitlement request (Always permission, prototype, privacy disclosures, etc.)? What details should be included in the justification form? Our goal is to follow the most reliable and Apple-approved approach for firefighter check-in/out. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Notification Sound Not Routing to Bluetooth / External Speakers Consistently
Hello Apple Developer Support, We are observing inconsistent behavior with push notification sounds routing to Bluetooth / external speakers. Our app sends push notifications with a custom sound file using the sound parameter in the APNs payload. When an iPhone is connected to a Bluetooth speaker or headphones: On some devices, the notification sound plays through the connected Bluetooth/external speaker. On other devices, the notification sound plays only through the iPhone’s built-in speaker. We also tested with native apps like iMessage and noticed similar behavior — in some cases, notification sounds still play through the phone speaker even when Bluetooth is connected. Media playback (e.g., YouTube or Music) routes correctly to Bluetooth, so the connection itself is functioning properly. We would like clarification on the following: Is this routing behavior expected for push notification sounds? Are notification sounds intentionally restricted from routing to Bluetooth in certain conditions (e.g., device locked, system policy, audio session state)? Is there any supported way to ensure notification sounds consistently route through connected Bluetooth/external speakers? The inconsistent behavior across devices makes it difficult to determine whether this is by design or a configuration issue. Thank you for your guidance.

AlarmKit — disabling haptics when alarm fires?
Hi, Quick question on AlarmKit (iOS 26): is there any way to disable the vibration/haptics that play alongside the alarm sound? I'm building a gentle wake-up alarm and I'd like sound-only behavior. From what I can see, AlertConfiguration.AlertSound only lets me customize the audio (.default or .named(_:)). There doesn't seem to be a haptic-related property on AlertConfiguration or anywhere else in the alarm configuration chain. Is this a current limitation, or am I missing something? If it's a limitation, I'll file a Feedback Assistant request and post the FB number here. Thanks!

Can an e-commerce app qualify for the com.apple.developer.usernotifications.filtering entitlement, or what is the alternative?
I am working on a large-scale e-commerce application and we are trying to solve a specific issue regarding push notifications and user experience. We have a use case where we need to send a standard push notification to the user, but under certain local conditions on the device, we want to intercept that notification via a Notification Service Extension and suppress/drop it so it does not alert the user. We understand that the com.apple.developer.usernotifications.filtering entitlement allows a Notification Service Extension to drop notifications. However, looking at the entitlement request form, the categories seem strictly limited to: End-to-end encrypted messaging Earthquake warnings Education/learning platforms Enterprise healthcare apps My questions for the community and Apple staff: Is it possible for an e-commerce or retail app to be approved for this entitlement if we have a highly specific, valid use case that improves user experience. If this entitlement is strictly off-limits for our domain, what is the Apple-recommended architecture to achieve this? Thank you in advance for any insights or guidance!

Expected behavior for a Notification Service Extension with notification filtering when requestAuthorization has not been requested
If there is a Notification Service Extension which has the com.apple.developer.usernotifications.filtering entitlement, then does/how having that entitlement affect the preconditions for the NSE to be delivered a push? Specifically, if the app has not prompted for requestAuthorization() is it expected that the push will be delivered to the NSE or not? Thank you

Extend of notification content
In iOS 26, I can check the notification that arrives to the user when the AirPods or Apple Watch is fully charged. When tap the notification, notification only expands and does not include actions such as moving to an app. I checked the documents of UserNotification and UNNotificationServiceExtension, but I couldn't find what I wanted. I can expand by long-tapping as default, but I'm looking for a way to expand it without entering the app when I tap the notification. I wonder if there is an API that I missed or if it's not publicly supported. thank you for your support.

CarPlay Driving Task notification press handling
We're trying to add simple notifications to our CarPlay integration that should open certain template when pressed, but the issue is that when pressing this notification on CarPlay screen nothing is invoked in the code (presumably didReceive should be invoked). All works fine with the same notification but pressed on the iPhone screen - didReceive is invoked properly. How should I handle the action when push notification is pressed on CarPlay screen?

How to re-enable entitlements after App Transfer? (Location Push Service Extension)
Hi Apple team and fellow developers, We previously had Location Push Service Extension enabled and working in production. After transferring the app to a new Apple Developer team, the production App ID was transferred, but the Location Push entitlement was not retained. We've also created a new App ID for development, and now need Location Push access enabled for both the transferred production ID and the new development ID. We’ve already submitted the Location Push Access form with all relevant details. Unfortunately, the App Transfer documentation didn’t make it clear that Location Push access would be lost, and now we’re blocked from making new builds — even for the existing production app. ❓ Questions: Is it possible to re-enable Location Push for a transferred App ID? What’s the expected timeline for entitlement approval? Can Apple staff confirm the request status or let us know if any further action is needed? Thanks in advance — this entitlement is critical for our app’s functionality and release pipeline. Best, Aidar

I submitted the form for the critical alert entitlement but have not received any response for already 2 weeks. How long does it normally take to review such requests? Is there any way I can contact a certain department directly?

Thank you for your guidance.

iOS26 Beta Call History Issues
I’m using iOS 26 beta 9 on my iPhone 15 Plus. When I receive a call from a contact with multiple phone numbers, the call history does not clearly show which specific number was used to call me. Why? How to fix this issue?

Thank you

iOS应用图标右上角的未读数无法清除
手机型号:iPhone 13 Pro iOS版本号:iOS 18.6.2 (22G100) 用户开启了应用的系统通知功能,在收到离线推送后应用右上角展示未读消息数。在APP启动或者从后台恢复的时候,应用会用如下方法清理应用桌面图标的未读数角标。但是在部分机型上,应用转为“后台模式”时仍然会出现一个未读角标,且每次都是一个固定值;如果直接kill进程就不会出现未读角标。请问如何能够【完全】清理消息未读数,确保不会在退后台的时候再次出现呢? [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setApplicationIconBadgeNumber:0]; [[UIApplication sharedApplication] cancelAllLocalNotifications]; if (@available(iOS 16.0, *)) { [[UNUserNotificationCenter currentNotificationCenter] setBadgeCount:0 withCompletionHandler:nil]; [[UNUserNotificationCenter currentNotificationCenter] removeAllPendingNotificationRequests]; [[UNUserNotificationCenter currentNotificationCenter] removeAllPendingNotificationRequests]; } UNMutableNotificationContent *content = [[UNMutableNotificationContent alloc] init]; content.badge = @(-1); UNNotificationRequest *request = [UNNotificationRequest requestWithIdentifier:@"clearBadge" content:content trigger:nil]; [[UNUserNotificationCenter currentNotificationCenter] addNotificationRequest:request withCompletionHandler:^(NSError * _Nullable error) { // Do nothing }];

I wonder if there is an API that I missed or if it's not publicly supported. thank you for your support.

didRegisterForRemoteNotificationsWithDeviceToken Not Called on iOS 18.1.1

Could anyone play a sound from the Library/Sounds directory using alarmkit?
Could anyone play a sound from the Library/Sounds directory using alarmkit? Same file can play in app bundle, but not available in Library/Sounds directory. Is this by design?

Best, Aidar
