We are implementing a camera intercom calling feature using VoIP Push notifications (PushKit) and LiveCommunicationKit (iOS 17.4+). The app works correctly when running in foreground or background, but fails when the app is completely terminated (killed by user or system). After accepting the call from the system call UI, the app launches but gets stuck on the launch screen and cannot navigate to our custom intercom interface. Push notification volume for custom sound
Is there a way to configure the APNS notification sound volume to be louder? I am implementing some custom sounds(narrative sentences) for APNS, it does play the custom sound, but the volume of the custom sound is not loud enough even though I had set the device's volume and "RingTone and Alerts" volume to max. I tried to amplify the custom sound file, it does play louder but the result is minimum if I want to maintain the quality of the sound without it been distorted. I tried to use Notification Service Extension, AVAudioPlayer and AVAudioSession to play the sound, it does play louder in max volume compare with relying on default sound payload in APNS, but the problem is AVAudioPlayer and AVAudioSession do not seems to be usable when the application is in background or killed state, is there any other alternative I could use?

iOS 26 stops receiving push notifications
I a using the current RC version of iOS on both my iPhone and iPad. I and developing an iCloud based app and it works correctly on iOS 18. When I upgraded to iOS 26 the iCloud functions work correctly but the push notifications do not work. The issue appears to be creating subscriptions. APNs keep returning unregistered token
Hi, we've observed a weird behavior for a small amount of our user that we keep receiving the same token from APNs despite it's shown as Unregistered. When we try to send push to the token, we got an Unregistered error so we remove that token from our server. However, later we would receive an add token request from the client with the same token we just removed, and when we try to send to the token it returns Unregistered again so we remove the token again. This happened 3 times for a user in an hour. The identifierForVendor remains the same for all the requests. We also owns the client and I've checked client code that it's sending the token it received from didRegisterForRemoteNotificationsWithDeviceToken to the server.

Server notifications v2 UNSUCCESSFUL_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE
Hello. I'm currently implementing Apple Notification v2 to prepare for refunds for in-app purchases, but I'm not receiving requests from Apple servers to my backend server. I've applied HTTPS (TLS 1.2) and correctly registered production/sandbox notification URLs on App Store Connect. After requesting a test notification, when I check the status of testNotificationToken, I receive an UNSUCCESSFUL_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE as follows: {"signedPayload":"......":[{"atteptDate":1752128001970,"sendAttemptResult":"UNSUCCESSFUL_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE"}]} The endpoint for receiving notifications is set to accept POST requests with application/json format, and it responds with 200 (OK) without any content. However, Apple notifications are not coming through. Could anyone help me with this issue?

[App Store Server Notifications] ONE_TIME_CHARGE production release...
Dear Apple! During WWDC24 you announced that ONE_TIME_CHARGE notification is available on the sandbox environment and will be available "it will be available in production later this year" - it's March 2025 and there is still no production release of this feature. Could you share some timeline and plans for when we can expect that feature deployed to production? Thanks in advance!

Wallet Pass Stops Updating After Silent Push — Device Never Fetches New .pkpass (Possible Throttling)
Hi everyone, I'm developing a custom Apple Wallet pass using a Django backend and exposing my local server through ngrok during development. For the first ~30 minutes, everything works exactly as expected: the pass registers correctly, silent push notifications trigger instant updates, Wallet immediately performs the GET request to fetch the new .pkpass, and the changeMessage displays almost instantly on the lock screen. At some point, however, the pass stops updating entirely. Apple APNs continues to return 200 OK for every silent push I send, but the device never performs the required GET /v1/passes// call to download the updated pass. As a result, even the internal content of the pass (ex: points/balance fields) no longer updates, which confirms that Wallet is not fetching the new .pkpass at all. No changeMessage appears either. This behavior has been described informally by other developers as Apple Wallet Pass Update Throttling, where the Wallet daemon begins ignoring silent pushes after repeated updates or certain internal conditions. I’m trying to confirm whether this is indeed throttling, what triggers it, and how to avoid it during development.

Push Notifications largely not get transmitted
I have three apps with a very low user rate, so it's easier to compare. In all three apps, when I send a notification to APNs, over two-thirds receive a "Stored - Device Offline" status, but only one or two notifications are delivered afterward. No message has been sent after that. The total number of recipients is 89; 26 were delivered to the device, and 62 were stored in APNs. One was delivered from storage, and one was discarded. All app users are located in the same region, and mobile internet or Wi-Fi is available everywhere. I can't believe that so many iPhone users aren't getting connected to APNs to receive the stored message. Or are event not connected. Or are there any other reasons why a notification cant be transmitted. (User beahaviour, time of not using the app or something else?)

AlarmKit alarms do not fire when foregrounded app is in landscape
Hello! When setting an alarm in an AlarmKit app, the alarm will not fire properly/reliably (the alert presentation is not shown) while the device has an app foregrounded in the landscape orientation. This behaviour has been present since the betas, however until the first party Reminders app showed the behaviour in the iOS 26.2 beta I suspected the issue was in my own code. The behaviour is exhibited when scheduling alarms in several AlarmKit apps: The Reminders app The AlarmKit WWDC Demo Project My own AlarmKit app However alarms scheduled by the stock Clock app do not seem to exhibit the behaviour. Minimal repro with first party app: Be using iOS 26.2 beta Open Reminders app Create an urgent reminder for a time in the not too distant future Open Mail.app Change to landscape orientation Wait for the fire time Observe the phone vibrates at the correct time but no alarm is fired Drag the notifications pane down, observe the LiveActivity has been started Change to portrait orientation Observe alarm fires I have noticed this behaviour from the AlarmKit apps mentioned while foregrounding other apps besides Mail, both first and third party: Photos YouTube Netflix The behaviour does not seem to occur when the foregrounded app is restricted to portrait mode, no matter the actual orientation of the device. In the case of my own app I have tried a multitude of ideas to get it to work reliably, getting alarms to fire in landscape is very intermittent at best and most often works after a fresh reboot. I've submitted a Feedback for the Reminders app: FB20956492. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated!

Issue in background notification iOS 18
Issue: I am making an application that stores data locally from notifications fired from the server. Everything works fine in the foreground but the background is having problems with not being triggered when notifications are fired. So we tried firing 2 notifications at the same time, including default and silent types. But the problem continues to arise on ios 18, when firing multiple times like that, the trigger is not handling all notifications, leading to data loss. I tried on ios 15 and it worked fine. Environment: Device or Simulator: Iphone 11 pro max (iOS 18.3.2 Steps to Reproduce: Open app, allow received notification. Move app to background mode or terminate app. Sent 2 notifications: a. Default notification payload: { "aps": { "content-available": 1 }, ”notification”: {…}, “alert”: {..}, “data": "some_value" } b. Silent notification payload: { "aps": { "content-available": 1 }, ”data": "some_value" } What I've Tried: Trigger notification in function: application(_:didReceiveRemoteNotification:fetchCompletionHandler:) Handle write data to local storage in above function, put it in background thread also. Delivery of expired voip notifications
Hello, We are facing issue that sometimes a voip notification gets delivered after it is expired. The issue can be simply demonstrated we set the device to flight mode, and after 20s we disable flight mode. We still receive the voip notification. We are setting the expiration header as following apns-expiry=0, so from my understanding it should not be delivered if the device was not able to receive the notification in the fist attempt. I have read following thread https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/778512, from which I understand this is a long standing issue. Hence my question is, is there any way how we can notify the call kit that the call is actually no longer valid, and do not display the call to the user at all? Currently we are forced to always display CallKit call when the notification comes, and some of our users are confused that they see a missed call which they did not have any chance to pick up. Audio Session in Notification Service Extension
Is there anyway that I could use AVAudioSession, AVAudioPlayer or anything similar in Notification Service Extension? I am trying to implement Audio Playback in the Notification Service Extension to play specific audio file when receiving Notification regardless the app state(foreground, background or killed), but I am not able to activate audio session in Notification Service Extension. AccessoryNotification Demo
I am planning to run the AccessoryNotifications framework on xcode26.4 and ios26.4, please refer to the documentation https://developer.apple.com/documentation/accessorynotifications I couldn't find a complete demo, but I found a demo based on AccessorySetup Kit, ASK Sample https://docs-assets.developer.apple.com/published/89f5eef578ef/SettingUpAndAuthorizingABluetoothAccessory.zip. So I plan to practice the entire process of AccessoryNotifications based on this demo. When we try to send push to the token, we got an Unregistered error so we remove that token from our server. However, later we would receive an add token request from the client with the same token we just removed, and when we try to send to the token it returns Unregistered again so we remove the token again. This happened 3 times for a user in an hour. The identifierForVendor remains the same for all the requests. We also owns the client and I've checked client code that it's sending the token it received from didRegisterForRemoteNotificationsWithDeviceToken to the server.

Server notifications v2 UNSUCCESSFUL_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE
Hello. I'm currently implementing Apple Notification v2 to prepare for refunds for in-app purchases, but I'm not receiving requests from Apple servers to my backend server. I've applied HTTPS (TLS 1.2) and correctly registered production/sandbox notification URLs on App Store Connect. After requesting a test notification, when I check the status of testNotificationToken, I receive an UNSUCCESSFUL_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE as follows: {"signedPayload":"......":[{"atteptDate":1752128001970,"sendAttemptResult":"UNSUCCESSFUL_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE"}]} The endpoint for receiving notifications is set to accept POST requests with application/json format, and it responds with 200 (OK) without any content. However, Apple notifications are not coming through. Could anyone help me with this issue?

Use ONE_TIME_CHARGE may cause some problem
If a notification: ONE_TIME_CHARGE is used to ship the IAP content, it involves a point where the client might not finish the transaction, yet the item is shipped. Will an unfinished purchase affect refunds?

[App Store Server Notifications] ONE_TIME_CHARGE production release...
Dear Apple! During WWDC24 you announced that ONE_TIME_CHARGE notification is available on the sandbox environment and will be available "it will be available in production later this year" - it's March 2025 and there is still no production release of this feature. Wallet Pass Stops Updating After Silent Push — Device Never Fetches New .pkpass (Possible Throttling)
Hi everyone, I'm developing a custom Apple Wallet pass using a Django backend and exposing my local server through ngrok during development. For the first ~30 minutes, everything works exactly as expected: the pass registers correctly, silent push notifications trigger instant updates, Wallet immediately performs the GET request to fetch the new .pkpass, and the changeMessage displays almost instantly on the lock screen. At some point, however, the pass stops updating entirely. Apple APNs continues to return 200 OK for every silent push I send, but the device never performs the required GET /v1/passes// call to download the updated pass. As a result, even the internal content of the pass (ex: points/balance fields) no longer updates, which confirms that Wallet is not fetching the new .pkpass at all. No changeMessage appears either. This behavior has been described informally by other developers as Apple Wallet Pass Update Throttling, where the Wallet daemon begins ignoring silent pushes after repeated updates or certain internal conditions. I’m trying to confirm whether this is indeed throttling, what triggers it, and how to avoid it during development.

Push Notifications largely not get transmitted
I have three apps with a very low user rate, so it's easier to compare. In all three apps, when I send a notification to APNs, over two-thirds receive a "Stored - Device Offline" status, but only one or two notifications are delivered afterward. No message has been sent after that. The total number of recipients is 89; 26 were delivered to the device, and 62 were stored in APNs. One was delivered from storage, and one was discarded. All app users are located in the same region, and mobile internet or Wi-Fi is available everywhere. I can't believe that so many iPhone users aren't getting connected to APNs to receive the stored message. Or are event not connected. Or are there any other reasons why a notification cant be transmitted. (User beahaviour, time of not using the app or something else?)

I dont want my server to be spammed. Currently I am only in payment-related notifs (eg: user successfully renewed his subscription, user didnt successfully renew his subscriptions, ..) Where can I set that?

AlarmKit alarms do not fire when foregrounded app is in landscape
Hello! When setting an alarm in an AlarmKit app, the alarm will not fire properly/reliably (the alert presentation is not shown) while the device has an app foregrounded in the landscape orientation. This behaviour has been present since the betas, however until the first party Reminders app showed the behaviour in the iOS 26.2 beta I suspected the issue was in my own code. The behaviour is exhibited when scheduling alarms in several AlarmKit apps: The Reminders app The AlarmKit WWDC Demo Project My own AlarmKit app However alarms scheduled by the stock Clock app do not seem to exhibit the behaviour. Minimal repro with first party app: Be using iOS 26.2 beta Open Reminders app Create an urgent reminder for a time in the not too distant future Open Mail.app Change to landscape orientation Wait for the fire time Observe the phone vibrates at the correct time but no alarm is fired Drag the notifications pane down, observe the LiveActivity has been started Change to portrait orientation Observe alarm fires I have noticed this behaviour from the AlarmKit apps mentioned while foregrounding other apps besides Mail, both first and third party: Photos YouTube Netflix The behaviour does not seem to occur when the foregrounded app is restricted to portrait mode, no matter the actual orientation of the device. In the case of my own app I have tried a multitude of ideas to get it to work reliably, getting alarms to fire in landscape is very intermittent at best and most often works after a fresh reboot. I've submitted a Feedback for the Reminders app: FB20956492. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated!

Issue in background notification iOS 18
Issue: I am making an application that stores data locally from notifications fired from the server. Everything works fine in the foreground but the background is having problems with not being triggered when notifications are fired. So we tried firing 2 notifications at the same time, including default and silent types. But the problem continues to arise on ios 18, when firing multiple times like that, the trigger is not handling all notifications, leading to data loss. I tried on ios 15 and it worked fine. Environment: Device or Simulator: Iphone 11 pro max (iOS 18.3.2 Steps to Reproduce: Open app, allow received notification. Move app to background mode or terminate app. Sent 2 notifications: a. Default notification payload: { "aps": { "content-available": 1 }, ”notification”: {…}, “alert”: {..}, “data": "some_value" } b. Silent notification payload: { "aps": { "content-available": 1 }, ”data": "some_value" } What I've Tried: Trigger notification in function: application(_:didReceiveRemoteNotification:fetchCompletionHandler:) Handle write data to local storage in above function, put it in background thread also. Delivery of expired voip notifications
Hello, We are facing issue that sometimes a voip notification gets delivered after it is expired. The issue can be simply demonstrated we set the device to flight mode, and after 20s we disable flight mode. We still receive the voip notification. We are setting the expiration header as following apns-expiry=0, so from my understanding it should not be delivered if the device was not able to receive the notification in the fist attempt. I have read following thread https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/778512, from which I understand this is a long standing issue. Hence my question is, is there any way how we can notify the call kit that the call is actually no longer valid, and do not display the call to the user at all? Currently we are forced to always display CallKit call when the notification comes, and some of our users are confused that they see a missed call which they did not have any chance to pick up. Audio Session in Notification Service Extension
Is there anyway that I could use AVAudioSession, AVAudioPlayer or anything similar in Notification Service Extension? I am trying to implement Audio Playback in the Notification Service Extension to play specific audio file when receiving Notification regardless the app state(foreground, background or killed), but I am not able to activate audio session in Notification Service Extension. I am planning to run the AccessoryNotifications framework on xcode26.4 and ios26.4, please refer to the documentation https://developer.apple.com/documentation/accessorynotifications I couldn't find a complete demo, but I found a demo based on AccessorySetup Kit, ASK Sample https://docs-assets.developer.apple.com/published/89f5eef578ef/SettingUpAndAuthorizingABluetoothAccessory.zip.
