Transaction ID Misassociation in IAP Subscription API
Dear Apple Support Team, Hello! I am currently developing the in-app subscription functionality using Apple IAP API and have encountered a serious technical issue while processing subscription data. I would like to report this issue to you. Issue Description: When calling the subscription API endpoint, the same OriginalTransactionId returns inconsistent results. Specifically, a particular transaction ID (let's call it TransactionId_A) should belong to the subscription order with OriginalTransactionId_A, but it is currently incorrectly associated with OriginalTransactionId_B. This issue severely affects our ability to accurately manage and process subscription data. Here are the relevant log details for your reference: API Endpoint Requested: https://api.storekit.itunes.apple.com/inApps/v1/subscriptions/{TransactionId_A} (Note: The link is a placeholder for the actual API endpoint.) Log Information on February 21, 2025, at 09:40:09: { "AppAccountToken": "{AppAccountToken}", "BundleId": "{BundleId}", "Currency": "CNY", "Environment": "Production", "ExpiresDate": {ExpiresDate}, "InAppOwnershipType": "PURCHASED", "IsUpgraded": false, "OfferDiscountType": "", "OfferIdentifier": "", "OfferType": 0, "OriginalPurchaseDate": {OriginalPurchaseDate}, "OriginalTransactionId": "{OriginalTransactionId_A}", "Price": {Price}, "ProductId": "{ProductId}", "PurchaseDate": {PurchaseDate}, "Quantity": 1, "RevocationDate": 0, "RevocationReason": 0, "SignedDate": {SignedDate}, "Storefront": "CHN", "StorefrontId": {StorefrontId}, "SubscriptionGroupIdentifier": "{SubscriptionGroupIdentifier}", "TransactionId": "{TransactionId_A}", "TransactionReason": "PURCHASE", "Type": "Auto-Renewable Subscription", "WebOrderLineItemId": "{WebOrderLineItemId}" } Log Information on March 21, 2025, at 09:38:49: { "AppAccountToken": "{AppAccountToken}", "BundleId": "{BundleId}", "Currency": "CNY", "Environment": "Production", "ExpiresDate": {ExpiresDate}, "InAppOwnershipType": "PURCHASED", "IsUpgraded": false, "OfferDiscountType": "", "OfferIdentifier": "", "OfferType": 0, "OriginalPurchaseDate": {OriginalPurchaseDate}, "OriginalTransactionId": "{OriginalTransactionId_B}", "Price": {Price}, "ProductId": "{ProductId}", "PurchaseDate": {PurchaseDate}, "Quantity": 1, "RevocationDate": 0, "RevocationReason": 0, "SignedDate": {SignedDate}, "Storefront": "CHN", "StorefrontId": {StorefrontId}, "SubscriptionGroupIdentifier": "{SubscriptionGroupIdentifier}", "TransactionId": "{TransactionId_A}", "TransactionReason": "PURCHASE", "Type": "Auto-Renewable Subscription", "WebOrderLineItemId": "{WebOrderLineItemId}" } From the above logs, it is evident that the same transaction (TransactionId_A) returns different OriginalTransactionId values at different times, which is clearly not expected and severely impacts our ability to correctly process and manage subscription data. I hope you can address and investigate this issue as soon as possible. If you need any further information or assistance, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your support! Best regards!

Is background processing even possible?
Hello, aspiring programmer here. I am developing a StepCounter APP, which keeps track of how many steps I have taken and sends to an MQTT server. I am trying to make this happen even while the app is not in focus, but so far I have not been able to get this working. First tried with silent background music, which seemed pretty inconsistent and inpractical, since I usually play youtube videoes while walking, making the app stop with its silent audio. Then tried GPS, which didnt really do anything (could be implementation problem). Has anyone made background processing work for their apps?

Endpoint Security System Extension can't be removed by deleting Host Application on Sonoma 1
I have an Electron Application which is hosting Endpoint Security System Extension. Usually I'm uninstalling it by deleting host application from /Applications/ folder. However, after updating multiple of my machines to Sonoma 15.3.2, this uninstallation flow doesn't work anymore. When I delete host app, it shows promt (approximately) "This application is hosting SysEx which will be removed..." After that, application is moved to .trash, however System Extension remains active and visible in System Settings. Host application name is changed to file name (Some Application -> Some Applciation.app) and this entry has no icon for Host App. I would appreciate any assistance on how to fix that or maybe create a bug report.

Change includeAllNetworks from NetworkExtension while tunnel is running
Hi, I saw that almost each OS version, on ios and macos, handles differently changing includeAllNetworks while the tunnel is running. On some the entire OS reports no-net, while others, specially latest versions, handle this fine. Can includeAllNetworks be changed while the tunnel is running, or the tunnel must be stopped and restarted with the new value? e.g. the tunnel is started with it set to false, but later is changed to true into VPN profile. And on the same note, regarding setTunnelNetworkSettings, can this be called multiple times while the tunnel is running? For example if the VPN server IP changes. Because what I've saw each call to setTunnelNetworkSettings after VPN connected results in at least DNS leaks, because the routing table is recreated. Let me know if it is easier to track to create separate questions. Thanks

No Local Network prompt for ios18
We are developers of an app, we found that there's no LN prompt for users to install the app for the 1st time on ios18. We used the following method to prompt the "allow/not allow" alert: // Attempts to trigger the local network privacy alert. /// /// This builds a list of link-local IPv6 addresses and then creates a connected /// UDP socket to each in turn. Connecting a UDP socket triggers the local /// network alert without actually sending any traffic. /// /// This is a ‘best effort’ approach, and it handles errors by ignoring them. /// There’s no guarantee that it’ll actually trigger the alert (FB8711182). func triggerLocalNetworkPrivacyAlert() { let addresses = selectedLinkLocalIPv6Addresses() for address in addresses { let sock6 = socket(AF_INET6, SOCK_DGRAM, 0) guard sock6 >= 0 else { return } defer { close(sock6) } withUnsafePointer(to: address) { sa6 in sa6.withMemoryRebound(to: sockaddr.self, capacity: 1) { sa in _ = connect(sock6, sa, socklen_t(sa.pointee.sa_len)) >= 0 } } } }

Issue Sending Multicast Packets Across Multiple Interfaces Using NWConnectionGroup
Hi everyone, I'm currently working on a project where I need to send multicast packets across all available network interfaces using Apple Network Framework's NWConnectionGroup. Specifically, the MacBook (device I am using for sending multicast requests, MacOS: 15.1) is connected to two networks: Wi-Fi (Network 1) and Ethernet (Network 2), and I need to send multicast requests over both interfaces. I tried using the .requiredInterface property as suggested by Eskimo in this post, but I’m running into issues. It seems like I can't create an NWInterface object because it doesn't have any initializers. Here is the code which I wrote: var multicast_group_descriptor : NWMulticastGroup var multicast_endpoint : NWEndpoint multicast_endpoint = NWEndpoint.hostPort(host: NWEndpoint.Host("234.0.0.1"), port: NWEndpoint.Port(rawValue: 49154)!) var connection_group : NWConnectionGroup var multicast_params : NWParameters multicast_params = NWParameters.udp var interface = NWInterface(NWInterface.InterfaceType.wiredEthernet) I get following error: 'NWInterface' cannot be constructed because it has no accessible initializers I also experimented with the .requiredInterfaceType property. Even when I set it to .wiredEthernet and then change it to .wifi, I am still unable to send requests over the Wi-Fi network. Here is the code I wrote: var multicast_params : NWParameters multicast_params = NWParameters.udp multicast_params.allowLocalEndpointReuse = true multicast_params.requiredInterfaceType = .wiredEthernet var ip = multicast_params.defaultProtocolStack.internetProtocol! as! NWProtocolIP.Options ip.disableMulticastLoopback = true connection_group = NWConnectionGroup(with: multicast_group_descriptor, using: multicast_params) connection_group.stateUpdateHandler = { state in print(state) if state == .ready { connection_group.send(content: "Hello from machine on 15".data(using: .utf8)) { error in print("Send to mg1 completed on wired Ethernet with error \(error?.errorCode)") var params = connection_group.parameters params.requiredInterfaceType = .wifi connection_group.send(content: "Hello from machine on 15 P2 on Wi-Fi".data(using: .utf8)) { error in print("Send to mg1 completed on Wi-Fi with error \(error?.errorCode)") } } } } Is this expected behavior when using NWConnectionGroup? Or is there a different approach I should take to ensure multicast requests are sent over both interfaces simultaneously? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, Harshal

Combining Screen Time Usage with HealthKit Data in a Chart
Hello Apple Developer Community, I’m working on creating a chart that combines Screen Time Usage data with Workout Time from HealthKit. I’ve successfully implemented a DeviceActivityReportExtension to fetch Screen Time data and draw a chart. I’m also able to read HealthKit data from the main app. However, I’m having trouble integrating the HealthKit data into the View generated by the DeviceActivityReportExtension. I’ve attempted to read HealthKit data directly from the extension , but this doesn’t seem to work, likely due to HealthKit access restrictions in extensions. I also tied using a shared object to pass HealthKit data to the extension, but unfortunately this didn’t seem to work as expected. I’d greatly appreciate any suggestions on how to successfully integrate HealthKit data into the extension-generated View. Has anyone dealt with a similar challenge or found a workaround for this? Thanks in advance for your help!

Does originalTransactionId change if a user resubscribes?
Hello, For In App Purchases with a renewable subscription, does the originalTransactionId change in the following scenarios? Case 1: A user subscribes to a subscription A within a Subscription Group SG1. The user then cancels it at the end of the month. Comes back later to subscribe to the same subscription A within the same Subscription Group SG1. Case 2: A user subscribes to a subscription A within a Subscription Group SG1. The user then cancels it at the end of the month. Comes back later to subscribe to subscription B within the same Subscription Group SG1.

Recording a HeartbeatSeries
I need to be able to create and store a HeartbeatSeries for a given time-period from an Apple Watch, to then retrieve that data from HealthKit to be processed. I have working code which allows me to begin a workout session, which is being used to determine how long a session has been running for. I also have working code for retrieving HeartbeatSeries data from HealthKit. The issue is that no HeartbeatSeries data is being stored into HealthKit as a result of the workout session running. Whether that session is running for as little as 30 seconds or as long as 20 minutes, nothing is stored. However, when I use the the Apple "Meditation" app (formerly known as "Breathe"), I can query HealthKit afterwards and retrieve a list of individual heartbeat timings during that 2 minute period. Therefore, it IS possible to store a HeartbeatSeries from within an app on the Apple Watch. What I would like to know is, how can I use the pulse sensor built-in to the Apple Watch to be able to record a HeartbeatSeries similar to how the Meditation app does it.

Apple Watch Fails to Receive Companion App Message
Hello all, I have run into a weird situation in my watchOS app with a companion iOS app. Issue: Watch fails to receive sendMessage string sent from phone while watch is in foreground. This is not consistent and seems to happen randomly under certain conditions. Order of operations: User Opens phone app & watch app -> user presses "sendMessage" button, func is called -> watch does not receive message while in foreground Condition explanation: To my knowledge, without a HealthKit workout session active, the apple watch is not available to receive messages (using any internal library transmission type) from its iOS companion app while the watch screen is not in the foreground (i.e. inactive). However, my issue is that sometimes, while the watch IS in the foreground, it does not receive the companion app's message. Additionally, this is not resolved by force quitting both iOS and watchOS apps. The only way I have gotten this issue to go away is by restarting both the phone and the watch. Again, it is not a consistent behavior and seemingly happens randomly. This behavior has been observed across multiple different beta testers on different hardware. This is only apparent when transmitting from Phone -> Watch. I have not experienced any transmission issues when transmitting Watch -> Phone. My team and I have speculated that it could be an issue with WCSession.isReachable returning true before we transmit the message but changing to false before the hardware actually transmits. However, this wouldn't explain why the watch would not be available while in the foreground. This is just a preliminary thought. My goal in posting on here is to see if anyone else has experienced this, or if it's a known bug. All message protocols have been coded to follow Apple's WCSession documentation as closely as possible. Hardware specs: Watch Model: A2093 (series 5) WatchOS ver: 10.6.1 Phone: MU693LL/A (15 pro max) iOS ver: 18.3.2 XCode ver: 16.0

"Bug description: We were unable to tap on 'Upgrade to Pro' button."
Hey guys, I am developing a habit tracker app right now. I know it's basic but it's my first app and I wanted an easy start but this is more of a struggle than I thought. So I am trying to publish my app fully on the App Store however everytime I do there is some kind of bug with it. But when I test it, it works perfect for me. Anyways, in this case the reviewer said when they go to the pro page of my app to purchase a pro subscription and try to press upgrade to pro nothing pops up. It pops up normally for me on my iPhone but not other devices. I wanted to make sure if this was normal or if there is something I am supposed to fix. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Does @Relationship(inverse:) create a memory leak?
Hi, I am creating (or trying to) my first app using SwiftData - and I have questions :-) The main question I can't get my head wrapped around is the following: Let's say I have the sample below... @Model class Person { @Relationship(inverse:\Hat.owner) var hat:Hat } @Model class Hat { var owner:Person? } It looks like I am creating a strong reference cycle between the person and the hat objects? And in fact I am seeing these kinds of reference cycles when I look at the memory debugger. Many code samples I have seen so far use this type of relationship declaration... And I am wondering: Am I missing something? Admittedly I don't find many discussions about memory leaks caused by SwiftData despite the syntax being used in many examples? So what is the situation? Did Apple just miss to explain that the inverse: declaration causes memory leaks or is there some kind of magic that I should understand?

Socket Becomes Unresponsive in Local Connectivity Extension After Lock Screen
I’m developing an app designed for hospital environments, where public internet access may not be available. The app includes two components: the main app and a Local Connectivity Extension. Both rely on persistent TCP socket connections to communicate with a local server. We’re observing a recurring issue where the extension’s socket becomes unresponsive every 1–3 hours, but only when the device is on the lock screen, even if the main app remains in the foreground. When the screen is not locked, the connection is stable and no disconnections occur. ❗ Issue Details: • What’s going on: The extension sends a keep-alive ping packet every second, and the server replies with a pong and a system time packet. • The bug: The server stops receiving keep alive packets from the extension.  • On the server, we detect about 30 second gap on the server, a gap that shows no packets were received by the extension. This was confirmed via server logs and Wireshark).  • On the extension, from our logs there was no gap in sending packets. From it’s perspective, all packets were sent with no error.  • Because no packet are being received by the server, no packets will be sent to the extension. Eventually the server closes the connection due to keep-alive timeout.  • FYI we log when the NEAppPushProvider subclass sleeps and it did NOT go to sleep while we were debugging. 🧾 Example Logs: Extension log: 2025-03-24 18:34:48.808 sendKeepAliveRequest() 2025-03-24 18:34:49.717 sendKeepAliveRequest() 2025-03-24 18:34:50.692 sendKeepAliveRequest() ... // continuous sending of the ping packet to the server, no problems here 2025-03-24 18:35:55.063 sendKeepAliveRequest() 2025-03-24 18:35:55.063 keepAliveTimer IS TIME OUT... in CoreService. // this is triggered because we did not receive any packets from the server 2025-03-24 18:34:16.298 No keep-alive received for 16 seconds... connection ID=95b3... // this shows that there has been no packets being received by the extension ... 2025-03-24 18:34:30.298 Connection timed out on keep-alive. connection ID=95b3... // eventually closes due to no packets being received 2025-03-24 18:34:30.298 Remote Subsystem Disconnected {name=iPhone|Replica-Ext|...} ✅ Observations: • The extension process continues running and logging keep-alive attempts. • However, network traffic stops reaching the server, and no inbound packets are received by the extension. • It looks like the socket becomes silently suspended or frozen, without being properly closed or throwing an error. ❓Questions: • Do you know why this might happen within a Local Connectivity Extension, especially under foreground conditions and locked ? • Is there any known system behavior that might cause the socket to be suspended or blocked in this way after running for a few hours? Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Behavior of CallKit with multiple incoming calls
Hi, Team. We are currently creating a VoIP calling app using pjsip and want to be able to handle 4 calls at the same time. It is also necessary to be able to notice calls that are on hold or have not answered yet in hands-free (without looking the screen). However, It seems like CallKit has the intention to silence the ringtone when multiple calls come in. Problem What does actually happen? If a second call comes in while the first one have not answered yet, CallKit screen keeps showing about the first one. If tapped "Accept" button, the second call ends. If tapped "Decline" button, CallKit screen shows about the second call at last. If the first call has put on hold before the second one comes in, CallKit screen shows "Hold & Accept" button even though the first call is already on hold. When "Hold & Accept" button is displayed, ringtones and other sounds from app stop. When tapped "Hold & Accept" button for the second call and then unhold the first one in provider(_ provider: CXProvider, perform action: CXAnswerCallAction), ringtone of the first call doesn't ring. What is expected to happen? If a second call comes in while the first one have not answered yet, CallKit screen shows about the second call. If tapped "Accept" button, the second call starts and the first call is displayed on CallKit screen. If tapped "Decline" button, the first call appears again. If the first call has put on hold before the second one comes in, CallKit screen shows only "Accept" and "Decline" button (not in full screen). If a second call comes in while the first one have not answered yet, ringtones continue to ring. When accepted the second call, ringtone of the first call rings again. Information Sample code Using CallKit to simulate three incoming calls and two alarm notifications. Whether or not the first call is put on hold before the second one comes in is switchable from the bottom menu. https://github.com/ryu-akaike/CallKit-Multiple-Incoming-Test Versions macOS: Sequoia 15.1 Xcode: 16.2 iPhone: 11 iOS: 18.1.1 Thank you. Thanks in advance, Harshal

onlinePaymentCryptogram has spaces in it?
Hello everyone, We're implementing Apple Pay on the web and are already live, processing transactions. However, we've noticed that occasionally the onlinePaymentCryptogram returned in the paymentData contains spaces, causing it to be rejected by acquirers. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
