Message Filter Extension and multiple servers
In the documentation for a Message Filter Extension it states: If you have servers that can help your app extension determine how to handle a message, you must add the Associated Domains capability to your Xcode project and specify those domains. (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/sms_and_call_reporting/sms_and_mms_message_filtering/creating_a_message_filter_app_extension) The words servers and domains are in the plural. If it's possible to specify multiple servers/domains for a Message Filter Extension then how is that done? There's no documentation nor reference for that. If multiple domains can be added to the info.plist then what is the iOS behavior in that case? Can the extension supply/change which domain is used at run time?

The Future of the PaymentRequest API
I am adding Apple Pay to my eCommerce site and I am having a lot of difficulty with the PaymentsRequest API in Microsoft Edge browser. I have a partial implementation that displays the Apple Pay button and creates a PaymentRequest when the button is clicked. That's all. On Safari, this is enough to display the Apple Pay dialog. The process doesn't proceed further because I haven't implemented a handler for the merchantvalidation event. With Chrome on a Mac, the behavior is the same, I can scan the code and see the Apple Pay dialog. On Microsoft Edge, I never see the code to scan. In my web console, I'm seeing errors like InvalidStateError: Failed to execute 'canMakePayment' on 'PaymentRequest': Cannot query payment request and NotSupportedError: The payment method "https://apple.com/apple-pay" is not supported. No "Link: rel=payment-method-manifest" HTTP header found at "https://www.apple.com/apple-pay/" Is Apple Pay not supported on Windows? I see the demo site here, which gets farther than I have gotten. It does display the scan code, but payment still never completes. I see the same payment-method-manifest error in the console. If Apple Pay is not supported on any PCs other than Macs, is there any reason to use the PaymentRequest API instead of Apple Pay JS? I started digging into the W3C standards and it turns out that merchantvalidation event is deprecated. Chrome on Mac does catch it, so it seems like it's supported there. But I have concerns about the long term future. Is it going to remain supported? If so, I would imagine that the interface could change. It seems like the only benefit of the W3C PaymentRequest API is that Mac users with non-Safari browsers may still be able to use Apple Pay. In theory, that's something I'd still like to support, even if it's only a small number of users, but I only have time for one integration right now, and I need to pick the best one. How much faith should I have in the W3C PaymentRequest API? Is it reasonable to pursue it with the goal of including all Mac users regardless of browser? Or is it likely a dead API and I should stick to Apple Pay JS instead to provide a better experience to Safari users? It also looks like the PaymentRequest API isn't fully finalized yet, so maybe that's the source of my issues. Maybe I should just use Apple Pay JS for now with an eye to supporting PaymentRequest when the spec is finalized. I greatly appreciate your input.

Spotlight doesn't show .html file results
When I search for text in a .html file using the Command-Spacebar spotlight popup the .html file is never shown in the results. On the other hand the .html file does show in the result when I search in the Finder window search field, or when I search in the Terminal using mdfind. Why is this and how can I fix? I want to use spotlight to find .html files. You can reproduce the problem like this: echo spotlighttest > testone.txt % echo spotlighttest > testtwo.html % mdfind spotlighttest 2024-12-30 14:22:28.552 mdfind[28326:550500] [UserQueryParser] Loading keywords and predicates for locale "en_US" 2024-12-30 14:22:28.553 mdfind[28326:550500] [UserQueryParser] Loading keywords and predicates for locale "en" ~/Desktop/Spotlighttest/testone.txt ~/Desktop/Spotlighttest/testtwo.html I believe this shows that both files are index properly, but if you then do Command-Spacebar and search for "Spotlighttest" I think you will see that only testone shows as a result. Edit I believe this is a change in macOS 15.x and used to work correctly in previous macOS

Using Storekit development, unsubscribe and resubscribe callback problem
The app subscription function uses StoreKit. After canceling the subscription, I try to subscribe again and get the following error. I remember it was working fine before iOS 18 was released. { NSLocalizedDescription = "\U53d1\U751f\U672a\U77e5\U9519\U8bef"; NSUnderlyingError = "Error Domain=ASDErrorDomain Code=825 "(null)""; } Hope you can help me solve this problem as soon as possible. Thanks

Store Kit Set up
I'm working on my first subscription for an app I've built, and can't seem to figure out where I'm going wrong with this one whether it's something in Xcode or App Store Connect. Any idea where to start? Somethings to check. TIA.

Update Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) server certificate
Currently, our company server is using the push service by calling APNS through the p8 certificate. In this process, our server does not have a CA certificate or SSL certificate in use. Only the p8 certificate is installed and only performs the role of calling APNS. If it is used like this, is there no need to update the CA certificate separately? Or do I have to apply a new SSL certificate and add the CA to it? Can someone help me plz?

TN3138: Handling App Store receipt signing certificate change
Hi (from France) I have a MacOS application which handles the App Store receipt by requesting at the url "https://buy.itunes.apple.com/verifyReceipt". From the response, I can know what are the inApps bought by the user and that suits for me. I don't know if if I must change something in my code accordingly to this TN3118. Does someone knows the response ? Best regards.

App Clip works in TestFlight but not elsewhere
My app is available in TestFlight but has been rejected in App Review with the review feedback that the app clip "just shows a blank screen". However, in the TestFlight app, the App Clip works as expected and brings up the clip. It also works correctly from Xcode testing. Any ideas on what the problem could be? It is using the default App Clip link (appclip.apple.com)

Persist and deliver scheduled local notifications after app update
I have an app available for download in the Apple App Store. The app sends local notifications, which are scheduled at the user's request once the app launches. I've recently learned that when new versions of my app are deployed and automatically update on the user's device, previously scheduled local notifications are deleted. Given my app design, the user can re-launch the app in order to re-schedule the local notifications. This is a bit of a problem, though, because part of my app's value is in reminding the user - so after requesting a local notification, the user expects to receive a local notification and then launch the app, not the other way around. Given this, I've been exploring solutions so my app continues to function as expected (including delivering local notifications, even if the app hasn't yet been launched) after an app update. I've explored .backgroundTasks(), but they too are apparently deleted with an app update and require the app to be re-launched first to work as expected. Another solution might be to use push notifications instead of local notifications, but that seems like a very involved solution if I'm just looking to make sure that local notifications persist after an app update. I can't be the only person to have this dilemma - am I overlooking a simple solution?

Transaction.id will be repeated in Apple in-app purchase
In the sandbox environment, when I quickly and repeatedly purchase an item, Transaction.id will be repeated. Will there be duplication in the production environment? func pay(productId: String, orderId: String) async { guard !productId.isEmpty, !orderId.isEmpty else { return } let orderObj = ApplePayOrderModel.init(orderId: orderId, productId: productId) do { let result = try await Product.products(for: [productId]) guard let product = result.first else { return } let purchaseResult = try await product.purchase() switch purchaseResult { case .success(let verification): switch verification { case .verified(let transaction): orderObj.transactionId = String(transaction.id) await transaction.finish() case .unverified(let transaction, let error): await transaction.finish() } case .userCancelled: break case .pending: break @unknown default: break } } catch { print("error \(error.localizedDescription)") } }

ShortCuts: Send email with email address as a parameter
Hello everyone, I would like to dictate a text with Shortcuts and then send it to one of two e-mail addresses (private or business). I would like to be able to select one of two email addresses. Unfortunately, I am not able to pass an email address as a parameter to the Send email function. Is it possible to do this? I'm new to apple and I'm all but not a programmer. So take pity on me :) Best, Niko

Why do two content filters with the same name exist
I developed a Content Filter using the Network Extension, and when deployed to a batch of hosts (50 +), the installation worked for most of them, but there were six exceptions: five of them were macOS 10.15 and one of them was macOS 12.5. The phenomenon of these 6 hosts is: in the System Settings->Network, two content filters with the same name appear. When one of the content filters with the same name is clicked, shows "Please use 'X Agent Extension' to control this content filter configuration" ('X Agent Extension' is the program I developed, this content filter can be deleted by clicking the minus sign in the lower left corner). Click on another content filter with the same name, shows 'Please use 'null' to control this content filter configuration', (but this content filter can't be removed by clicking the minus sign in the bottom left corner). These systems are clean, use CLI 'systemextensionsctl list', and have only one systemextension in the output (this systemextension is my content filter). Online reference "https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/how-to-delete-custom-dns-profile-from-network-preference.2293322/" this paper, by closing the SIP, and delete file '/Library/Preferences/com.apple.networkextension.plist', then restart the system can remove the abnormal content filters with the same name. After restarting the system and reinstalling my content filter, the two content filters with the same name disappear (only the Content Filter I reinstalled) and the exception scenario cannot be repeated. I would like to know, why do I have two content filters with the same name, how can I avoid this phenomenon, is there a way to remove the wrong content filter without closing SIP.

App Store Review always got 4.3 for my apps
I created an app and submitted to app store for review and got a rejection with "4.3(a) - Design - Spam". This one was created for brand new, and I didn't find any similar apps in App store. I searched in this forum but am not sure if it is because I used flutter to build my app? How could I get a bit more specific detail why it got rejected? Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam We noticed your app shares a similar binary, metadata, and/or concept as apps submitted to the App Store by other developers, with only minor differences. Submitting similar or repackaged apps is a form of spam that creates clutter and makes it difficult for users to discover new apps. Next Steps Since we do not accept spam apps on the App Store, we encourage you to review your app concept and submit a unique app with distinct content and functionality.

Official document for CONSUMPTION_REQUEST - What kind of data we are receiving?
This documentation describes what kind of data we should be sending to Apple server, once we are receiving CONSUMPTION_REQUEST https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appstoreserverapi/consumptionrequest But, it doesn't describe what kind of data we are receiving, when we are receiving CONSUMPTION_REQUEST? May I know, is such a document available? Thank you.

Response of the server-side verifyReceipt endpoint when using offer codes
Hi, We use the (now deprecated) server-side receipt verification API (*1) with the app we are maintaining and there are some points I would like confirm on how its response changes based on whether the purchase being processed was a subscription that used an offer code or not. I am particularly concerned about the following: Are there any properties of the response that are added or missing? Is there any property indicating that an offer code was used? If there is, which field is that and what values does it take? Are there any special steps or options required when processing the receipt which used an offer code on the server side? *1 https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appstorereceipts/verifyreceipt

Automate System Extension Approvals
I have a host running MacOS 14.7 which is used as a CI runner, with the intention to eventually scale out to have multiple hosts that can be provisioned on the fly. I'm installing some tooling on it and running into an issue where a system extension is pending user approval. The only way I have found to approve system extensions is through System Settings -> Privacy & Security. However, since this host is solely being used in an automated environment, I'm looking for a way to either approve via a cli command or bypass it all together. Is this possible?

App Clip Not Launching From Approved Apple Maps Action Link
We’ve set up an advanced App Clip experience that successfully launches when a user scans our QR code. However, the same App Clip invocation URL does not launch when tapping the associated Action Link on our Apple Place Card in Apple Maps. Instead of opening the App Clip, the link falls back to the website. What We Have Done So Far: App Clip Launched in App Store Connect: Our App Clip is approved and live on the App Store. Here is the invocation URL: https://appclip.parkzenapp.com/park?q=oJrbSIgx Below is the QR code for our Advanced App Clip experience we are attempting to open in our Apple Maps Place card When scanning the QR code that uses the same App Clip invocation URL, the App Clip reliably launches as expected. Here is our apple-app-site-association file, thats correctly served from the associated domain: https://appclip.parkzenapp.com/.well-known/apple-app-site-association Add here is a screenshot showing how the appclip.parkzenapp.com domain is correctly validated. Advanced App Clip Experience: We created and submitted an advanced App Clip Experience specifically tied to our location on Apple Maps. This App Clip Experience is approved and live. Below is an image of our set up of this Advanced App Clip Experience Business Connect: We've created the Apple Maps Location in business connect and added the advanced App Clip experience invocation URL as an Action Link in the place card. See screenshot below. Apple Maps Place: https://maps.apple.com/place?auid=906421750045811407 Despite meeting these conditions, when a user taps the Action Link (the "Reserve" button in the Apple Maps Place Card), the fallback website opens rather than the App Clip. Question: What additional step or configuration might we be missing to ensure the Action Link on our Apple Maps place card triggers the App Clip instead of the website? Thank you

UIViewController.view.backgroundColor auto changed when present
This is easy to reproduce,in dark mode, 2 UIViewControllers A and B, A present B. code: class AAA: UIViewController { override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() navigationItem.title = "AAA" view.backgroundColor = .systemBackground } override func touchesBegan(_ touches: Set<UITouch>, with event: UIEvent?) { present(UINavigationController(rootViewController: BBB()), animated: true) } } class BBB: UIViewController { override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() navigationItem.title = "BBB" view.backgroundColor = .systemBackground } override func touchesBegan(_ touches: Set<UITouch>, with event: UIEvent?) { dismiss(animated: true) } } before present: after present: Obviously, the backgroundColor of the view has changed. I guess it's because view's backgroundColor is the same as the the window, so changed the color to distinguish between the controller and the background, but this brought unexpected changes which is confusing. I want to know how this happened and how I can manually control it
