macOS 26 Launch Constraints
I've recently upgraded to the RC candidates of macOS 26 and Xcode 26. The app I'm building has a helper tool using SMAppService. When I run the app and helper tool in macOS 15 or macOS 26, all works as expected. When it runs on macOS 13 or 14, which previously worked. The helper now crashes on launch with the following reason: Termination Reason: CODESIGNING 4 Launch Constraint Violation I found this developer session which seems to address this, but the plist I've added doesn't seem to satisfy the constraint. https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2023/10266/ Here are the contents of my new plist: Are there any gotchas here that I might be missing? Thanks!

Encounter "zsh: trace trap" after updating trust settings for Apple certificates
Hi guys, New to publishing apps on Apple Store. I encounter some notarization error before and resolved it in this post. By solving the previous issue, I updated the Trust setting from "Always Trust" to "Use System Defaults" for Apple certificates. The codesign and notarization no longer give me any problem. But now, I encountered another issue. When I ran the .app on my local Macbook, it now gives me "zsh: trace trap" error. Dive a little further and check the crash report, I found the some details as following. Process: my_app [30652] Path: /Users/USER/my_app_path Identifier: my_app Version: 0.0.0 (???) I have tried to rebuild, re-codesign and re-notarize. But the error still persists. Could someone help me? Thanks!

Developer ID Installer certificate location
I want to export Mac OS application out side App Store and I need to have Developer Id installer certificate to do the same. When I go to certificate section in developer portal - I only see option of Mac App Distribution Mac Installer Distribution Developer ID Application Does anyone know where I can check the Developer ID installer part. Developer ID application doesn't work for signing the app manually.

When to notarize artifacts developed in different stages?
Dear Apple Support, for better understanding to use the Notary Service, I would like to ask when and what have to be notarized. I am absolutely aware of using the Notary Service and which packages can be submitted and how to get the status. Scenario: We have one library which is developed by a specific team and other teams develop and deliver to customer MacOS apps which packages this library for the shipment. So, the library will be produced internally and will be shipped in different products. The library will be code signed before we make available internally. When should we notarize (and staple) this library? Directly after the code is signed or when it will be packaged in each product when it will be delivered to customer? Best regards, Stefan

Terminal command to show team for signing identity
In our local test configurations, a developer can sign test apps for device installation using any key associated with the company team. However, if a developer accidentally chooses an identity from some other team, installation fails with no information about the problem. It just mentions that no provisioning profile could be found, leaving everyone in the dark about what is wrong. Instead, we would like to pre-validate the selected signing identity by checking the team name or id. This could be done, for example, by extracting the x509 certificate from the signing identity and checking the "OU" field (which is set to the team id). However, none of the apple commands will divulge the x509 certificate from a developer id. So far our best options is to create a fake app, sign the app, then use command: codesign --display --extract-certificates This solution seems excessively serpentine. Is there no direct command that will accept the sha of a signing identity and return a nice .pem containing the associated certificate chain? Or, better yet, is there a command that takes the signing identity and simply returns the name or id of the associated team?

App Store code signing show "Beta Profile"
I encountered code signing issue with Apple Distribution certificate for both iOS and MacCatalyst. The app crashes with "Beta Profile". I followed this instruction to manually re-sign my ipa to confirm that I use the Apple Distribution and the correct Provisioning Profile. https://gist.github.com/WDUK/4239548f76bd77b2c4b0 When I double click on the Apple Distribution certificate in KeyChain Access, it shows "Extension: Apple Mac App Signing (Development)" and "Extension: Apple Developer Certificate (Submission)" I have been stuck in this issue for more than a month. I really need help because I do not know how to proceed further. Thank you.

Capability for Provisioning Profile to enable MIE
My app uses a Provisioning Profile (as it bundles up a Network System Extension). I do not use "Automatically manage signing" as its causes code signing/deployment issues 🤷‍♂️ In Xcode (version 26), if I enable " Enhanced Security" and check "Enable Hardware Memory Tagging", Xcode states: Provisioning profile "<>" doesn't include the com.apple.security.hardened-process.checked-allocations and com.apple.security.hardened-process.checked-allocations.soft-mode entitlements. Normally to resolve such errors one simply adds the Capability in "Edit your App ID Configuration" and then regenerates the Provisioning Profile. However, I don't see any such capability to would add these entitlements? (I thought "Hardened Process" would be the one - but alas, no). Clicking the "for more information" link in Xcode to view the relevant(?) "Apple Developer Documentation" generates another error 😵‍💫 Didn't see anything in: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/xcode/enabling-enhanced-security-for-your-app

Unable to Sign macOS App – Missing Valid Developer ID Application and Installer Certificates – Request for Account Reset?
Hello, I have created multiple Developer ID Application and Developer ID Installer certificates across different Apple OS versions without keeping the Certificate Signing Requests (CSR). As I’m not very experienced with Apple’s system, I made this mistake and now I am unable to create new certificates because I have reached the maximum number of certificates allowed. I develop software based on Electron and have been building and signing my applications with electron-builder, integrating the app signing needed to submit the app to the Apple Store via Transporter. Here is the relevant portion of my package.json build config: "mac": { "appId": "com.nome_app.ext", "type": "distribution", "target": [ "mas" ], "artifactName": "name_app.${ext}", "category": "public.app-category.utilities", "provisioningProfile": "build/prov_prof_mac_name_app.provisionprofile" }, "mas": { "appId": "com.name_app.ravia", "hardenedRuntime": false, "type": "distribution", "gatekeeperAssess": true, "artifactName": "name_app.${ext}", "category": "public.app-category.utilities", "entitlements": "build/entitlements.mas.plist", "extendInfo": { "NSMicrophoneUsageDescription": "This app requires microphone access.", "NSCameraUsageDescription": "This app requires webcam access." }, "entitlementsInherit": "build/entitlements.mas.inherit.plist" } } Currently, I have recreated the Mac Developer Application and Mac Developer Installer certificates, but without valid Developer ID Installer and Developer ID Application certificates, I always get this error during build: `skipped macOS application code signing reason=cannot find valid "Developer ID Application" identity or custom non-Apple code signing certificate, it could cause some undefined behaviour, e.g. macOS localized description not visible, see https://electron.build/code-signing allIdentities= 718241A413826C6A97E2062EAEC155BEF5330CCA "iPhone Distribution: RAVIA SOFTWARE DI VILLANOVA DOMENICO ANTONIO (T9UD6J5HXZ)" (CSSMERR_TP_NOT_TRUSTED) 60B360CCE27FE915799FAE7C8E6A16962F2DE9B0 "3rd Party Mac Developer Installer: RAVIA SOFTWARE DI VILLANOVA DOMENICO ANTONIO (T9UD6J5HXZ)" (CSSMERR_TP_NOT_TRUSTED) 4518A8CE3BAC4F27B09D654DA14F52FBE15A0A85 "3rd Party Mac Developer Application: RAVIA SOFTWARE DI VILLANOVA DOMENICO ANTONIO (T9UD6J5HXZ)" (CSSMERR_TP_NOT_TRUSTED) ... The existing certificates all show the CSSMERR_TP_NOT_TRUSTED error and the signing command fails with errSecInternalComponent. **I have confirmed that the certificates are installed in my keychain, but they may be missing private keys or not fully trusted. Is there a possibility to reset my Apple Developer account’s Developer ID Application and Developer ID Installer certificates, so I can start fresh and generate new valid certificates? Could you please advise on how to proceed or if there is any way to clear the current certificate limit?** Thank you very much for your help.

Notary Request Stuck In Pending
Hi Apple team, I have a recently created dev account and submitted two different 20-30 mb .apps for notary through the notary tool. I have read that this should only take minutes at this size of an app but both have been stuck in progress for almost 24+ hours. Below are the UUIDs of the notary submissions. Also I tried re-submitting but these are also stuck in progress. Successfully received submission history. history -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2025-09-26T11:46:32.643Z id: 9714758e-e216-496d-80f8-422f77011ebe name: <>.zip status: In Progress -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2025-09-25T21:48:46.161Z id: c2a81300-c903-4277-8ef3-70205a690c76 name: <>.zip status: In Progress -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2025-09-25T18:24:36.205Z id: 42742be1-c7e5-4483-a2c5-95e89086d070 name: <>.zip status: In Progress -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2025-09-25T16:35:09.059Z id: a404256e-40c2-4dca-97fc-983e70ea4b7b name: <>.zip status: In Progress

security add-trusted-cert asks password twice in some cases: The authorization was denied since no user interaction was possible
Hey devs, I have a really weird issue and at this point I cannot determine is it a Big Sur 11.1 or M1 issue or just some macOS settings issue. SecTrustSettingsSetTrustSettings Fails on macOS 14.7.5 (ARM EC2) – "Authorization was denied since no user interaction was possible"
Hello Apple Developer Support, We are experiencing an issue when programmatically installing a trusted root certificate on EC2 macOS instances (ARM-based), running the latest version of macOS 14.7.5 (Build 23H527). We are using the following command as part of our automated setup process: sudo security authorizationdb write com.apple.trust-settings.admin allow sudo security add-trusted-cert -d -r trustRoot -k /Library/Keychains/System.keychain "$CERT_NAME" sudo security authorizationdb remove com.apple.trust-settings.admin This fails with the following message: SecTrustSettingsSetTrustSettings: The authorization was denied since no user interaction was possible In the past, as sugested in other posts (https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/671582) we were able to bypass this issue by running: sudo security authorizationdb write com.apple.trust-settings.admin allow This worked successfully in prior versions, including earlier 14.x releases, and continues to work on Intel-based macOS instances. However, in macOS 14.7.5 (on ARM), this approach no longer works. We suspect this may be due to a change in how System Integrity Protection (SIP) is enforced, especially on EC2 ARM. Questions: Has Apple introduced any changes in macOS 14.7.5 that prevent modifying trust settings via security CLI on headless or non-interactive sessions? Is there an approved or documented way to install system-level trusted certificates programmatically on macOS 14.7.5 (ARM)? Are there alternatives for setting trustRoot certs in non-GUI environments, such as virtualized or cloud-hosted macOS instances? As further information we were thinking to use MDM Profiles but looks like it is also blocked Thanks

Test my app without ADP membership
Hello community, I'm new here, so please excuse my blunt question. I'm trying to understand how everything works and the logic behind it. I have an idea for an app which requires the FamilyControl entitlement. Now I am not sure if the idea even works, so I wanted to test it on my own device. Am I correct, that I cannot even test an App with such entitlements without paying for the ADP? Not even on my own device? I completely understand I need to be a member in the ADP if I want to distribute my app, but I'm not there, yet, and I just want to do a proof-of-concept. I thought I can't be the first one with that question, but couldn't find a past topic on this, so I'm posting it. Regards, Niklas

Apple Notarization: Long running notarization jobs / day limitation
Dear Apple support, Since the last couple of days, we have some (very) long running notarization requests. Similar requests were done normally under 1 minute. This behavior is unexpected to us, and we did not see it before. The issue occurs for a small CLI tool submitted as a ZIP archive. Checking the documentation, I come across the section about "Avoid long notarization response times and size limits" (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/security/customizing-the-notarization-workflow#Avoid-long-notarization-response-times-and-size-limits). One fact is mentioned “Limit notarizations to 75 per day.” What is behavior if that limitation is reached? Is that limitation per Apple ID or per team ID? Are there some known issues about Notarization Service? Best regards, Stefan

I can't distribute the build to Testflight
Hi the best community! When I try to submit the app to Testflight I receive the following error: "codesign command failed (/var/folders/j9/yh_rkh114rbgvmglf4gycj8w0000gn/T/XcodeDistPipeline.~~~OW0Dwk/Root/Payload/Application.app/Frameworks/Alamofire.framework: replacing existing signature /var/folders/j9/yh_rkh114rbgvmglf4gycj8w0000gn/T/XcodeDistPipeline.~~~OW0Dwk/Root/Payload/Application.app/Frameworks/Alamofire.framework: invalid or corrupted code requirement(s) Requirement syntax error(s): line 1:155: unexpected token: NPH )" I have never stuck with this issue before. Xcode Version 16.0 I assume that there is something related to code signing and our company name in App Store connect: Medical Institution “NPH” (The company name has been anonymized for privacy purposes.) Appreciate any help. Thank you!

How to distribute DEXT during development and to the public
To learn how to develop/distribute a DriverKit driver (DEXT) and a UserClient app correctly, I am trying to run the following sample dext and app. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/driverkit/communicating-between-a-driverkit-extension-and-a-client-app?language=objc I walked throught steps in README.md included in the project and faced issues. First, I referred the "Configure the Sample Code Project" section in the README.md and configured the sample code project to build with automatic signing. I could run the app and activate the dext successfully and made sure the app could communicate with the dext. Next, I tried the manual signing. I followed steps described in the "Configure the Sample Code Project" section carefully. The following entitlements has already been assigned to my team account. DriverKit Allow Any UserClient Access DriverKit USB Transport - VendorID DriverKit I could build both app and dext and could run the app. However, when I clicked the "Install Dext" button to activate the dext, I got the following error: sysex didFailWithError: extension category returned error Am I missing something? I would also like to know detailed steps to publicly distribute my dext and app using our Developer ID Application Certificate, as README.md only shows how to configure the project for development. Xcode version: 16.3 (16E140) Development OS: macOS 15.5 (24F74) Target OS: macOS 15.5 (24F74)

Xcode Signing and Capabilities
I'm currently befuddled by the entire signing and certificate process. I don't understand what I need, what the team admin needs to do, or how to go about doing it so that I can build the project. We've managed to have this working in the past but I guess the system has changed somewhat. Here's what we have going: A Unity project which hasn't changed from a few years ago. I build the project in unity, open the Xcode project and this: There's an issue with the Signing and Capabilities. If I choose automatic setup it shows an error saying that it requires a development team. I had the account admin add my Apple ID to the team so I'm not sure why that's an issue still. Do I need to pay the 99$ to be able to building Xcode? If I try to do it manually I select the provisioning profile that the account admin sent me and it auto selects the team associated with the provisioning profile I guess but then there's no singing certificate. The error says: There is no signing certificate "iOS Development" found. No "iOS Development" signing certificate matching team ID "V7D5YBZRMV" with a private key was found. So, if someone could explain to me like I'm 5 the entire signing and certificate process is and let me know what we're doing wrong with the team/provisioning profile/certificate setup I would be very much appreciative.

macOS 26 Launch Constraints

Process: my_app [30652] Path: /Users/USER/my_app_path Identifier: my_app Version: 0.0.0 (???) When to notarize artifacts developed in different stages?

Below are the UUIDs of the notary submissions. security add-trusted-cert asks password twice in some cases: The authorization was denied since no user interaction was possible
