Missing Properties in BillboardComponent
In an earlier beta, BillboardComponent had rotationAxis and upDirection properties which allowed more fine-grained control of how an entity rotates towards the camera. Currently, it is only possible to orient the z axis of the entity. Looking at the robot in the documentation, the rotation of its z axis causes its feet to lift off the ground. Before, it was possible to restrain the rotation to one axis (y, for example) so that the robot's feet stayed on the ground with billboard.upDirection = [0, 1, 0] billboard.rotationAxis = [0, 1, 0] Is there an alternative way to achieve this? Are these properties (or similar) coming back?

Dynamically assigning texture resource to ShaderGraphMaterial on VisionOS
I implemented a ShaderGraphMaterial and tried to load it from my usda scene by ShaderGraphMaterial.init(name: in: bundle). I want to dynamically set TextureResource on that material, so I wanted to expose texture as Uniform Input of a ShaderGraphMaterial. But obviously RCP's Shader Graph doesn't support Texture input as parameter as the image shows: And from the code level, ShaderGraphMaterial also didn't expose a way to set TexturesResources neither. Its parameterNames shows an empty array if I didn't set any custom input params. The texture I get is from my backend so it really cannot be saved into a file and load it again (that would be too weird). Is there something I am missing?

Cursor display issue on attachment view in immersive space
While using Screen Mirroring in developer mode within my immersive space, I noticed an alignment issue with the computer cursor (transparent circle). When I move it toward an attachment view, the cursor remains horizontal instead of aligning with the surface of the attachment view. It shows correctly on a 2D window only wrong on attachment view. Is this behavior a bug, or could it be caused by a missing or incorrect configuration on the attachment view? Want help, thanks.

Can developers use spatial image in third App's Spatial widget
Spatial widget is a new feature of visionos 26. I notice The system’s Photo app can add a Spatial Image in the widget. I wonder if third apps can use spatial image or any 3D content in it's widget? I try to use RealityView in widget and it run with a crash. So does spatial Image in widget only supported by the system Photo app, and not available to developers now?

AR QuickLook Frame Rate Questions
When I've made an animated UDSZ, at what framerate will the animation be rendered in QuickLook? Is it the same across all devices? (iPhone, Apple Vision Pro, etc.) and viewing environments? (QuickLook, inside an ARView, etc.) Suppose I export my file at 30fps and the device draws at 60fps, does the device interpolate between frames automatically, animate at a lower frame rate, or play it at twice the speed? What if it were 24fps? My primary concern with understanding frame rates is a bit of trouble I've had making perfectly looping animations. There always seems to be the slightest stutter between iterations. Thanks in advance for any insights you're able to provide!

iOS needs to allow for background bluetooth scanning. I can't fully build my app.
iOS currently restricts background Bluetooth advertising and scanning in order to preserve battery life and protect user privacy. While these restrictions serve important purposes, they also limit legitimate use cases where users have explicitly opted in to proximity-based experiences. The core challenge is that modern social applications need a way to detect when users are physically present at the same location or event without requiring every participant to keep their app in the foreground. Under the current system, background BLE advertising is heavily throttled and can only transmit a limited payload, background scanning intervals are sparse and unpredictable, peer-to-peer proximity detection cannot be maintained reliably when apps are in the background, and Background App Refresh is non-deterministic, making any kind of time-based proximity validation impossible. A proposed enhancement would be to introduce an “Enhanced Proximity Permission.” This would allow developers to enable reliable background BLE advertising and scanning for declared time windows, such as a maximum of eight hours. It would also allow devices running the same app to detect each other’s proximity using ephemeral, rotating identifiers that preserve privacy, with clear user consent and prominent indicators whenever the feature is active. Unlocking this capability would open up new categories of applications. Live events could offer automatic attendance tracking at concerts, conferences, or sports venues. Retail environments could support opt-in foot traffic analysis and dwell-time insights. Social apps could allow users to find friends at festivals, campuses, or other large venues. Safety applications could extend to crowd density monitoring and contact tracing beyond COVID-era needs. Gaming could offer real-world multiplayer experiences based on physical proximity, and transportation providers could verify rideshare pickups or measure public transit flows automatically. Privacy safeguards would remain central. Permissions would be time-boxed and expire after an event or session. A mandatory visual indicator would be displayed whenever proximity tracking is active. A user-facing dashboard would show all apps granted enhanced proximity access. Permissions would automatically be revoked after a period of non-use, and only ephemeral tokens not permanent identifiers would be broadcast. The industry impact would be significant. With this enhancement, iOS could power the next generation of location-aware social platforms while maintaining Apple’s leadership in privacy through explicit user control and transparency. Current alternatives, such as requiring users to keep apps in the foreground or deploying dedicated hardware beacons, produce poor user experiences and constrain innovation in spatial computing and social applications. Can anyone from Apple consider this change? Having to buy iBeacons is brutal and means slower adoption. Please reconsider this for users who opt in.

generateConvex(from mesh: MeshResource) crashes instead of throwing a Swift error
I have a MeshResource and I would like to create a collision component from it. let childBounds = child.visualBounds(relativeTo: self) var childShape: ShapeResource do { // Crashed by the following line instead of throwing a Swift Error childShape = try await ShapeResource.generateConvex(from: childModel.mesh); } catch { childShape = ShapeResource.generateBox(size: childBounds.extents) childShape = childShape.offsetBy(translation: childBounds.center) } Based on this document: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/realitykit/shaperesource/generateconvex(from:)-6upj9 Will throw an error if mesh does not define a nonempty convex volume. For example, will fail if all the vertices in mesh are coplanar. Is `ParticleEmitterComponent` implemented for `RealityKit` on iOS?
Hi there, I was looking to add a particle emitter to my augmented reality app I'm developing using RealityKit. I'm targeting iOS. I noticed in the documentation for the ParticleEmitterComponent that it looks like iOS 18.0+ is supported, but when I try to use the ParticleEmitterComponent in my code in XCode, I get an error that it isn't found. Furthermore, this StackOverflow post seems to indicate that particle systems are not available for iOS. Would it be possible to get clarification on this?

window loses resize feature on reopening
I have this problem on VisionOS. When I dismiss and reopen a window from a ImagePresentationComponent, the window misses the resize ui elements when I look at the window corners. The rest of the window ui elements (drag, close...) are there. Resizing was possible before the window was dismissed. The code is something like this: WindowGroup(id: "image-display-window",..... } .windowResizability(.automatic) .windowStyle(.plain) I call dismissWindow() from the window view and it is dismissed correctly. Then I call openWindow(id: "image-display-window", value: data) from another view to reopen it. It reopens but it missing the possibility to resize. Anyone knows how to fix this? Thanks.

Persistent Entity Position
I want to let users place 2D/3D “artworks” on detected walls and have them reappear in exactly the same real‑world spot after quitting and relaunching the app (like widgets do, but for my own entities).Environment: Xcode 26, visionOS 2.0, RealityKit + ARKitSession/WorldTrackingProvider Entities are parented to a holder that’s aligned to a wall via plane/mesh raycasts. What I’ve tried: Create a WorldAnchor at placement, save UUID + full 4×4 transform On next launch, re-create the WorldAnchor (or set the saved transform) and attach the entity Gate restore on relocalization/mesh updates and disable all raycast/search after restore Issue: After relaunch, placement still resolves relative to current device pose, not the same wall position. Questions: Is there a public API in visionOS 2.0 to persist app‑managed world anchors across sessions (room‑fixed), e.g., AnchorStore or equivalent? If not, what’s the recommended pattern to reliably restore wall‑anchored content? Are persistence features mentioned for widgets/windows available to third‑party RealityKit entities?

Look to Scroll
Hello! I’m excited to see that Look to Scroll has been included in visionOS 26 Beta. I’m aiming to achieve a feature where the user’s gaze at a specific edge automatically scrolls to that position. However, I’ve experimented with ScrollView and haven’t been able to trigger this functionality. Could you advise if additional API modifiers are necessary? Thank you!

Unable to Retain Main App Window State When Transitioning to Immersive Space
In Vision OS app, I have two types of windows: Main App Window – This is the default window that launches when the app starts. It displays the video listings and other primary content. Immersive Space Window – This opens only when a user starts streaming or playing a video. Issue: When entering the immersive space, the main app window remains visible in front of it unless manually closed. To avoid this, I currently close the main window when transitioning to immersive space and reopen it when exiting from immersive space. However, this causes the app to restart instead of resuming from its previous state. Desired Behavior: I want the main app window to retain its state and seamlessly resume from where it was before entering immersive mode, rather than restarting. Attempts & Challenges: Tried managing opacity, visibility but none worked as expected. Couldn’t find a way to push the main window to the background while bringing the immersive space to the foreground. Looking for a solution to keep the main window’s state intact while transitioning between immersive and normal modes.

Entities moved with Manipulation Component in visionOS Beta 4 are clipped by volume bounds
In Beta 1,2, and 3, we could pick up and inspect entities, bringing them closer while moving them outside of the bounds of a volume. As of Beta 4, these entities are now clipped by the bounds of the volume. I'm not sure if this is a bug or an intended change, but I files a Feedback report (FB19005083). The release notes don't mention a change in behavior–at least not that I can find. Is this an intentional change or a bug? Here is a video that shows the issue. https://youtu.be/ajBAaSxLL2Y In the previous versions of visionOS 26, I could move these entities out of the volume and inspect them close up. Releasing would return them to the volume. Now they are clipped as soon as they reach the end of the volume. I haven't had a chance to test with windows or with the SwiftUI modifier version of manipulation.
