Live Caller ID Lookup - CipherMLError.missingSecre t Ke y error
I'm trying to implement live caller id PIR server in python and I have an issue related to evaluation key config. I don't receive the POST /key request even if I try to install the extension on new device and I had this error in device system logs: error 11:21:30.663022+0200 ciphermld requestData(byKeywords:shardIds:clientConfig:) threw an error: CipherML.CipherMLError.missingSecre t Ke y I think the reason why the evaluation key is not generated is related to this error but I'm not sure. It might be also related to HE params - I tried with the same params as in swift server example with plaintext_modulus=17 and it works, but for plaintext_modulus=65537 on the same device the system doesn't send me the evaluation key. Is there a limitation that restricts the evaluation key generation for some HE params? There is how the entire config object that I retrieve looks like: { "configs": { "Live-C aller-ID-Lookup. ShieldConfigurationExtension & SwiftData
Hi, I am developing a Screen Time App and I am having issues with the ShieldConfigurationExtension (ShieldConfigurationDataSource). I know this extensions is sandboxed but I should be able to read data from the main app. I am using SwiftData as my database, but I am unable to initialize it in the extensions with an error indicating insufficient file permissions. I have App Group set up and I am able to share data using UserDefaults but that is just inconvenient. Is there any way I could just open the SwiftData in read only mode so that I could display the user some info on the shield? SwiftData Init: private func setupContainer() throws { let schema = Schema([ DogEntity.self, HouseEntity.self ]) // Use app group container if available let config: ModelConfiguration if let containerURL = FileManager.default.containerURL( forSecurityApplicationGroupIdentifier: "group.\(Bundle.app.bundleIdentifier ?? "")" ) { config = ModelConfiguration(schema: schema, url: containerURL.appendingPathComponent("default.sqlite")) } else { config = ModelConfiguration(schema: schema) } self.container = try ModelContainer(for: schema, configurations: [config]) } Error in extension: fault: Attempt to add read-only file at path file:///private/var/mobile/Containers/Shared/AppGroup/51431199-5919-4AE6-940C-6FE3C53EEB46/default.sqlite read/write. Watch Ultra 2: How Do I list my app on Auto-Launch Settings
I'm developing a watchOS app for Watch Ultra 2 that implements water detection using CMSubmersionManager. I would like to make it appear in the Auto-Launch settings menu, but my app is not appearing in the settings (Settings > General > Auto-Launch > When Submerged > Selected App).... What additional steps should I take to make this work? Environment Device: Watch Ultra 2 watchOS: 11.2 Xcode: 16.0 Implementation I have implemented the following as per documentation: Added the Shallow Depth and Pressure capability and Entitlement. Added the "Shallow Depth and Pressure" capability Confirmed entitlement "com.apple.developer.submerged-shallow-depth-and-pressure" was automatically added Note: I initially thought I should use "com.apple.developer.submerged-depth-and-pressure" (without "-shallow") since I'm targeting a maximum depth of 6 meters, but this resulted in compilation errors. ref: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/740083 ref: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/735296 Added NSMotionUsageDescription and WKBackgroundModes <key>NSMotionUsageDescription</key> <string>Required for water detection</string> <key>WKBackgroundModes</key> <array> <string>underwater-depth</string> </array> According to the documentation: "It also adds your app to the list of apps that the system can autolaunch when the wearer submerges the watch." What additional steps are needed to make the app appear in Auto-Launch settings? Has anyone successfully implemented this feature?

Apps remain blocked after being unselected
Hi everyone, We're using the react-native-device-activity package to implement app blocking via Apple's Screen Time API. The blocking functionality works well: when the user selects apps and taps "Done," those apps get blocked as expected. However, we're facing an issue with unblocking apps that the user later unselects. Even after the user unchecks some apps and taps "Done" again, those previously selected (now unselected) apps remain blocked and still show the shield.

App cannot fetch any resource after a while
Hi everyone, We came an issue that, In some scenarios in our app we cannot fetch any resources from device (Photo and Contact). One case we catched is putting app in background and spending time in other commonly used apps and coming back to our app cause this issue but there is a small chance that get this issue during using the application. In cell, we are trying to fetch the image like this imageFetchTask = Task { let image = await CompositionRoot.shared.photosManager.image(requestType: .imageCollections, forId: photoAsset.photoId) self.photoImageView.image(image) } and inner layers of this code we get the PHAsset and request image PHAsset.firstAsset(for: id) let manager = PHImageManager.default() manager.requestImage(for: asset, targetSize: request.targetSize, contentMode: .aspectFill, options: request.options) { (image, info) in continuation.resume(returning: image) } We figured out that issue not happening only in Photos also Contacts and any web request. So any help according to this situation is well appreciated. Thanks

Translation API & Download Language Sheet
Using Apple SwiftUI Translate library: when calling: try await session.prepareTranslation() the first time, the API's Language Download sheet does not show (or shows briefly and dismisses immediately) Even when the sheet doesn't show, the keyboard is lowered, as though the sheet would be appearing, but then the keyboard raises as though the sheet was dismissed. The following Errors are printed in the console dozens of times; but on all subsequent executions, the API Language Download sheet shows as expected. The trigger code is in a function which is executed when a Translate button is tapped. Any ideas would be welcome! adding forecastNextHour to dataset significantly changes currentWeather
I have been struggling with getting accurate data from the weatherkit api. It tends to be just different enough from the weather app on the phone. While debugging this I randomly added forecastNextHour to my dataset string and it suddenly made everything match the app and the data looked good. For example there is at this moment a snow storm in Billings. This url: https://weatherkit.apple.com/api/v1/weather/en-US/45.79/-108.50?dataSets=currentWeather,forecastHourly,forecastNextHour&timezone=America/Denver&country=US says that there is heavy snow, and there is a 100% chance for the next few hours. This matches the iOS app. This url without forecastNextHour: https://weatherkit.apple.com/api/v1/weather/en-US/45.79/-108.50?dataSets=currentWeather,forecastHourly&timezone=America/Denver&country=US Says it is hazy and there is a small chance of snow of snow for the next few hours. Like 20-30 percent. This does not match any weather data I can find. I have even checked the forecastStart times and the current weather asOf time. They all match up and are accurate. Is there some unknown reason that without forecastNextHour the API becomes inaccurate? Thanks!

Use VZVirtualMachineView with actor-isolated VZVirtualMachine
We are using VZVirtualMachine instances in a Swift actor. It works fine but we hit a major problem when we decided that we want to attach it to a VZVirtualMachineView to show it / allow user interactions. VZVirtualMachineView and its virtualMachine property is isolated to @MainActor, so if we directly assign our vm instance to it, we receive a concurrency error: @MainActor public func createView() -> VZVirtualMachineView { let view = VZVirtualMachineView() view.virtualMachine = vm // x: Actor-isolated property 'vm' can not be referenced from the main actor return view } Is there any way we can make this work?

DeviceActivityMonitor extension does not call back at the set time
Hello Apple development team, I have developed an App for screen time management, which mainly uses ScreenTimeAPI. Users can set certain Apps to be disabled during a certain period of time. After the App is released, users often report that the settings do not take effect as expected. I have seen many developers on the forum reporting that the DeviceActivityMonitor extension sometimes does not trigger callbacks. Based on this background, I have the following questions: Is it a known problem that the DeviceActivityMonitor extension sometimes does not trigger callbacks? If so, are there any means to avoid or reduce the probability of occurrence? In addition to being killed by the system when the running memory exceeds (I just called some ScreenTimeAPI and accessed UserDefaults in the extension, which should not exceed the running memory), under what other circumstances will the DeviceActivityMonitor extension be killed by the system? Will it automatically recover after being killed? Will some callbacks be called when killing? Does ManagedSettingsStore have a life cycle? How do you avoid conflicts when configuring the underlying operating mechanism of multiple stores? This is a random problem. I have never encountered it during development and debugging, but users often report it. thanks

Control Center Widget icon disappear occasionally
Hi folks, We are trying to develop a widget on iPhone control center. We follow the Apple design guideline to export our resource file using custom icon and the button icon always show on debug build. However, when we deploy to TestFlight, under some scenario, such as app upgrade, we found that the icon image disappear occasionally. Anyone could help? Thank you in advance!

Issue with Live CallerID URL Caching
I've been testing the Live CallerID feature using the Apple-provided local server example - live-caller-id-lookup-example. I've been running a local server with tunneling using ngrok for the initial setup. Everything was working perfectly with the following setup: @main final class CallerID: LiveCallerIDLookupProtocol { var context: LiveCallerIDLookupExtensionContext { LiveCallerIDLookupExtensionContext( serviceURL: URL(string: "https://example-tunnel.ngrok.io")!, tokenIssuerURL: URL(string: "https://example-tunnel.ngrok.io")!, userTierToken: Data(base64Encoded: "BBBB")! ) } } However, after I updated the URLs to the production ones, I encountered an issue: @main struct CallerID: LiveCallerIDLookupProtocol { var context: LiveCallerIDLookupExtensionContext { LiveCallerIDLookupExtensionContext( serviceURL: URL(string: "https://example.net/")!, tokenIssuerURL: URL(string: "https://example/issue")!, userTierToken: Data(base64Encoded: "BBBB")! ) } } The problem is that during calls or when updating PIR parameters, the application still attempts to connect to the initial ngrok tunnel URLs instead of using the new production URLs. I can confirm this because the logs on my local server show incoming requests, indicating that the application is still referencing the old ngrok tunnel URLs. Steps I’ve taken to resolve the issue include: Deleting and reinstalling the application. Using reset(forExtensionWithIdentifier:) Unfortunately, these attempts have not been successful. I even extracted the binary of the app and extension to inspect the strings, confirming that the correct production URLs are present. The server was started with the following command: PIRService --hostname 127.0.0.1 service-config.json Could this be some sort of caching bug on the iOS side, or am I missing something?

How to get the bundleIdentifier or app name from FamilyActivitySelection's applicationTokens?
I'm working with the FamilyControls and DeviceActivity frameworks in iOS (Swift). In my app, I collect selected apps using a FamilyActivitySelection, and I access the selected apps via selection.applicationTokens, which gives me a Set. I would like to get either the bundle identifier or the display name of the selected apps from these ApplicationTokens. I tried creating an Application instance using: let app = Application(token: token) print(app.bundleIdentifier) print(app.localizedDisplayName) However, both bundleIdentifier and localizedDisplayName are always nil. My questions are: Outside the extension (in the main app), how can I get the bundleIdentifier or display name from an ApplicationToken? Is there an Apple-recommended way to resolve a Token into something human-readable or usable? If not, what is the best practice to store or identify user-selected apps for later use? Environment: iOS 17, Swift 5, Using FamilyControls and DeviceActivity APIs. Thank you for any help!
