How can users dismiss the iOS 18 second-stage Contacts permission prompt?
In iOS 18, requesting Contacts access via CNContactStore.requestAccess(for:) triggers a two-stage authorization flow: First stage: the standard "Allow / Don't Allow" alert Second stage: a sheet titled "How do you want to share contacts?" with two options — "Select Contacts" and "Share All [N] Contacts" My question is about the second-stage sheet specifically. It does not appear to have a Cancel or Close button, and swipe-down to dismiss does not work on the devices I've tested (iOS 18.x). If a user reaches this second prompt and decides they don't want to choose either option, how are they expected to dismiss it? Is this intentional behavior?

Live Caller ID Lookup entitlement - typical onboarding timeline after PIR migration?
Hi everyone, I'm hoping to hear from developers who have submitted Live Caller ID Lookup entitlement requests, especially anyone successfully onboarded after the PIR architecture became required. My own request (ID 2C4HJDWYJ6, submitted March 23, 2026) has been under review for 85 days. Apple Developer Support confirmed on May 8 that it's "in the pipeline to be onboarded" but I haven't received a concrete timeline. Infrastructure is fully deployed and verified per Apple's PIR documentation: OHTTP Gateway: https://gateway.zinfo.ge PIR Service: https://service.zinfo.ge (Apple's Swift PIR Service) Token Issuer: https://issuer.zinfo.ge DNS TXT record correctly configured HTTP/2, TLS, Protocol Buffers wire format Production database loaded Questions for the community: For developers already onboarded, how long did your review take from final submission to approval? Did the Live Caller ID Lookup capability appear automatically in Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles after approval, or was there an additional step? Is there an Apple engineering contact who handles PIR onboarding questions directly, separate from Developer Support? Any guidance from those who have been through this process, or from Apple DevRel, would be appreciated. Thanks, Levan

Live Caller ID Lookup entitlement request no response for 3+ weeks — Case #102823550184
Hello, I am hoping someone from Apple or the community can help escalate or advise on my situation. I submitted a Live Caller ID Lookup entitlement request for my app Zinfo (com.parastashvili.Mobile), Team ID: CNH4KYRW44. A support case was opened on February 17, 2026 (Case ID: 102823550184). Apple's documentation states entitlement review takes up to 2 weeks. It has now been over 3 weeks with no substantive response despite multiple follow-ups. Timeline: Feb 17: Case opened Feb 26: I provided all requested technical details in full — OHTTP endpoints, Privacy Pass token system, DNS TXT record, Apple test number (+1 408 555 1212 returning "Johnny Appleseed"), all fully deployed and ready for validation Feb 27: Apple replied with a generic "appropriate team will be in contact" message Feb 28, Mar 6, Mar 10: Follow-up emails sent — no meaningful response All technical requirements are fully implemented and operational. We are ready for Apple's validation at any time. Has anyone else experienced long delays with Live Caller ID Lookup entitlement reviews? Is there a better escalation path? I have also submitted a new escalation ticket (Case ID: 102840874265) under Development and Technical > Entitlements today. Any advice or visibility from Apple staff would be greatly appreciated. App: Zinfo (com.parastashvili.Mobile) Extension Bundle ID: com.parastashvili.Mobile.LiveCallerID Team ID: CNH4KYRW44

CarPlay Simulator not Working
I am trying to run my navigation app on a physical device, and want to view it using CarPlay Simulator (through XCode additional tools, NOT Hardware->Display->CarPlay), however, when I try to use the app, device has a Red dot next to it, and the simulator shows nothing. What I've tried: Running on a real CP device(my car): App works as intended, but want to run simulator so I can have live debugging Forgetting CP device and reconnecting All Steps of "Troubleshooting CP Simulator" (Updating to latest iOS, restarting phone, turn off hotspot, not connected to any other CP devices, ensure Firewall allows incoming connections) Tried both Xcode 13 CP sim and Xcode 14 beta CP sim Tried both work and personal laptops/phones Ideas: I am running on a M1 laptop, which could be messing with something. I am also running my Xcode in Rosetta(app has packages that cannot compile without Rosetta), but I don't believe this should be a problem because I am running on a physical device not Xcode simulator. Also can't run on Hardware->Display->CarPlay because of Application does not implement CarPlay template application lifecycle methods in its scene delegate and I can't figure out how to fix ("EXCLUDED_ARCHS[sdk=iphonesimulator*]"= "arm64" does not work)

Family Controls (Distribution)
Hello, I submitted a request for Family Controls (Distribution) approval, and it has now been over 12 days without any update on the status. I understand that review times can vary, but I wanted to check if this delay is expected or if there’s anything I might need to do on my end to help move the process forward. Could anyone from the Apple team or the community provide insight into: Typical processing times for Family Controls distribution requests Whether delays beyond a few days are common Any steps I should take to follow up or expedite the review For reference: Status: Submitted Submission time: April 29, 2026 Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Tokens change without reason after updating to iOS 17.5.1
Some of our users encounter an issue after updating their iPhone/iPad to iOS 17.5.1. The tokens passed in the Shield Configuration extension don't match the tokens they selected in my app using the FamilyPicker before updating to iOS 17.5.1. It seems the tokens changed for no reason. My app can't match the token from the ShieldConfigurationDataSource to any tokens stored on my end, causing my shield screens to turn blank. The same applies to tokens in the Device Activity Report extension. The only workaround I've found is to tell affected users to unselect and reselect apps and websites to block in my app. This gets them new tokens from the FamilyActivityPicker, which solves the issue. However, for some users, the bug reoccurs a few days later. Tokens seem to change again, causing the same issue in the Shield Configuration extension. I am not able to reproduce the issue on my test devices so I have no sysdiagnose to attach. However, this issue is affecting other screen time apps: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/732845 https://forums.developer.apple.com/forums/thread/756440 FB14082790 FB14111223 A change in iOS 17.5.1 must have triggered this behaviour. Could an Apple engineer give us any updates on this?

Family Controls entitlement request — 4 weeks, no status update
I submitted my Family Controls entitlement request on April 21 for my iOS app and still haven't heard anything back. We have had no approval or status update. It's been close to a month now. This is blocking me from testing and moving forward with the app since it relies on the Screen Time / Family Controls APIs. Has anyone run into delays this long recently? Thanks

Family Controls (Distribution) — 2 pending requests for 10 days, no status update (WA2MPH4572 + HCQXH9P8VM)
Subject: Family Controls (Distribution) — 2 pending requests for 9 days, no status update (WA2MPH4572 + HCQXH9P8VM) Tags: family-controls Body: Hello Apple Developer Forums and DTS team, I am requesting visibility on the status of two pending Family Controls (Distribution) entitlement requests submitted 10 days ago with no email confirmation or status update. REQUEST DETAILS App: SHIELD Bundle ID: app.shieldme Team ID: 4452N28RUS Request IDs (both submitted on May 6, 2026): WA2MPH4572 HCQXH9P8VM Status: Both showing "Submitted" in Identifiers → app.shieldme → Family Controls (Distribution) → View Requests USE CASE SHIELD is a Brazilian app focused on personal device usage management. The category covers the scenario the app addresses: device owners who want to apply additional access controls to their own apps in case of phone theft or loss, which are widespread concerns in Brazil. SHIELD is NOT a parental control app and does not facilitate management of devices belonging to other people. The device owner is the sole operator. The owner uses the system-provided picker to select which of their own apps should require additional access controls, configured and controlled exclusively by the owner. The use of FamilyControls + ManagedSettings is the iOS API path that allows a third-party app to offer this access-control layer on user-selected apps for the owner's own protection. Without this entitlement, the iOS version cannot offer parity with the Android version of the same product. ALIGNMENT WITH FAMILY CONTROLS USAGE TERMS Device owner is the sole operator (no third-party monitoring) Owner manages access to their own apps only Use case is personal device usage management No advertising or data broker use of device or usage data No organizational deployment Privacy disclosures complying with Brazilian LGPD law are included in-app at first launch ASK Could a DTS Engineer or the entitlements review team confirm whether the two pending requests are visible in the queue and share an approximate timeline? If additional clarification on the use case would help the review proceed, I will provide it the same day. The Android version of SHIELD is feature-complete and currently in beta testing, approaching public launch. The iOS version is designed to launch alongside Android, since the product relies on a referral mechanism where an existing user can invite a contact who may be on either platform. Releasing only one platform breaks the onboarding flow for invitees on the other. Family Controls (Distribution) is the single remaining blocker on the iOS side. If there is a recommended channel for aligning entitlement timing with a coordinated multi-platform release, please advise. Thank you for your time.

Filtering Applications in Device Activity Report can lead to 0 data bug for Parents/Guardian or Organizer roles only
I have been building an app where I have the user select what apps they would like to track and then I display a device activity report of only those apps. The device activity report shows data perfectly for the selected apps if the users apple account is "Adult". If the users apple account is "Parent/Guardian" or "Organizer" randomly the device activity report will show 0 minutes (no screen time data). Among randomly happening I have found a trigger for the bug to be opening any FamilyActivityPicker (even not the one used for filtering the device activity report extension) then going back to the device activity report extension on the profile page anywhere from 3-50 times. Once the bug happens repeating that process 1-2 times fixes it or removing screen time restrictions permission then adding it back.

Family Controls entitlement: no response for over 2 weeks
Hi, I submitted my Family Controls entitlement requests on April 21 for my iOS app, but I still haven’t received an approval, rejection, or any status update. This is blocking my ability to properly test and move forward with the app, since it depends on the Screen Time / Family Controls APIs. Has anyone had a similar delay recently? Is the recommended next step to file a code-level support request with my Team ID, or should I continue waiting? Thanks.

Defining custom file types
On iOS:When one receives a file of type .pages by email, Mail displays a large Pages icon and tapping on it opens Pages. (A long-press brings up the more complicated Actions screen). When one receives a file of type .vcf by email, Mail displays a large Contacts icon and tapping on it opens Contacts. (A long-press brings up the more complicated Actions screen).I have my own custom file type, .ripf, and I want to have the same behaviour because that is what my users will expect. Accordingly, in my app's Info.plist I have a CFBundleDocumentTypes dictionary providing a one-element LSItemContentTypes array referring to the name 'com.universalis.ripcard', and a UTExportedTypeDeclarations dictionary associating the UTTypeIdentifier 'com.universalis.ripcard' with a public.filename-extension 'ripf' and a public.mime-type 'text/vnd.universalis.ripcard'. All the other entries in those two dictionaries are present and correct as far as I can tell. Both CFBundleDocumentTypes[0].CFBundleTypeIconFiles and UTExportedTypeDeclarations[0].UTTypeIconFiles contain a list of icon files for the file type.(That rather long paragraph is to avoid boring people by including the entire Info.plist!)Some things do work..ripf files received via AirDrop bring up a suitable "Open with..." message which mentions my app, and tapping the message opens the app..ripf files received as an email attachment display as an icon. But it is the app's icon and not the icon of the file type.BUTTapping on a received file's icon does not open the app, but only opens the generic Actions screen, offering Message, Mail, WhatsApp, Notes, and only then (after the user has scrolled sideways) "Copy to..." my app. Now, the whole apparatus of CFBundleDocumentTypes and UTExportedTypeDeclarations is obscure and under-documented, and indeed the main documenation for the latter has a big warning at the top saying that it is obsolete and not being updated. That doesn't matter so much. What I need to know is:(Less important): How do I get the right file icon?(More important): How do I get my app to open when the icon is tapped, as Pages and Contacts do? There must be a way – unless special cases for those two apps are wired into iOS itself.

AlarmKit alarm occasionally fires at exactly 12:00 AM
[FB22327481] We are observing a rare issue where alarms scheduled using AlarmKit occasionally fire exactly at 12:00 AM, even though the alarm was scheduled for a different time. This issue happens only for a very small number of users (for example, 1–2 users per several thousand per day), but multiple reports confirm that the alarm goes off exactly at midnight. We also found that other developers are experiencing the same issue: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/815714 Observed behavior For a small number of users: Alarm fires at exactly 00:00 (midnight) This happens even when the scheduled alarm time is something like 7:30 AM Happens rarely Hard to reproduce internally Appears to happen only on real devices in production Additional notes We are using AlarmKit fixed schedules (not relative) Dates passed to AlarmKit are correct at scheduling time We do not intentionally create midnight alarms Issue seems random Question Are there any known limitations or edge cases with AlarmKit fixed schedules that could cause alarms to fire at midnight? For example: Invalid date fallback? Schedule expiration fallback? Time zone changes? Background refresh timing? Maximum schedule window? Any guidance would be appreciated, as this is affecting real users but is difficult to reproduce.

Family Controls Distribution Entitlement — 13 Days, No Response
Hello, I submitted a Family Controls Distribution entitlement request on May 1st, 2026 and received the generic confirmation page. It has now been 13 days with no approval, rejection or status update. Timeline: May 1st: Submitted request via developer.apple.com/contact/ request/family-controls-distribution → Received confirmation page May 8th: Opened Entitlements ticket via Developer Support → No response after 6 days (despite the stated 2 business day response time) My app Knipsi is a parental control app for the DACH market. It helps families manage screen time by letting children earn credits through completing real-world tasks, with parents approving via Face ID. The app is 100% finished and ready for TestFlight — this entitlement is the only remaining blocker. App Details: Team ID: 5GW9CM8T7U Bundle ID: aquilano.Knipsi Case: 102883106983 Frameworks: FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, DeviceActivity I understand the entitlement review takes time — but what concerns me is that the support ticket opened under Entitlements has also gone unanswered for 6 days, despite the advertised 2 business day response time. Could anyone share how long the Family Controls Distribution approval currently takes? And is there a recommended way to follow up when support tickets go unanswered? Thank you

AlarmKit Fixed Schedule Going off at Midnight
I am getting bug reports from users that occasionally the AlarmKit alarms scheduled by my app are going off exactly at midnight. In my app, users can set recurring alarms for sunrise/sunset etc. I implement this as fixed schedule alarms over the next 2-3 days with correct dates pre-computed at schedule time. I have a background task which is scheduled to run at noon every day to update the alarms for the next 2-3 days. Are there any limitations to the fixed schedule which might be causing this unintended behavior of going off at midnight?

Auto Navigate to host App
I have a barcode scanning app with keyboard extension app. The keyboard has a button Barcode from which we can navigate to app for scanning the barcode. The keyboard can be used in app that can input text. Now after clicking the button and navigating to barcode scanning app, after successful completion of scanning isn't there a way to auto navigate to host application . At present, we are showing a pop up asking user to click on back button on top left corner.

If I run the command below: java -jar ././Reporter.jar p=Reporter.properties a=[acc] m=Robot.XML Sales.getReport [vendor], amContent, Detailed, Daily, 20260512, 1_2 I get the following output: Successfully downloaded AppleMusic_Content_[vendor]_20260512_V1_2.txt.gz When I should be seeing an XML output that is machine readable.

AASA file on CDN not found more than one week
Last week our Universal Links stopped working. We made some changes and uploaded a new AASA file, but https://app-site-association.cdn-apple.com/a/v1/(domain) still returns 404 Not Found for all our domains. When I query directly from our server like domain/.well-known/apple-app-site-association, it returns 200 and the file is accessible. Could you help us resolve this issue? Our app relies on working Universal Links (deep links). Thank you!

Hi Im creating an app with Alarmkit, the idea is to have the hardware buttons react like they do in Alarmclock with a snooze or if the buttons can just mute without intent. right now, hardware button end and dismisses the Alarm. its instinct to click that button. apple needs to update or do something.

Do archives have to be compressed?
There’s a general UTI category for archives. Does an archive type HAVE to compress the file data, or can the data be stored 1:1? I’m asking because some of the descriptions suggest the category is for compressed archives, but my archive type is 1:1.

Did the Live Caller ID Lookup capability appear automatically in Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles after approval, or was there an additional step?

Reporter method Robot.XML not working
It looks like the method (m=) property for Reporter is being ignored, which has broken our data pipelines.

Thank you!

Alarmkit and Hardware button action.
Hi Im creating an app with Alarmkit, the idea is to have the hardware buttons react like they do in Alarmclock with a snooze or if the buttons can just mute without intent. right now, hardware button end and dismisses the Alarm. its instinct to click that button. apple needs to update or do something.
