SIM verification on iPhone
Hi, We have a need to provide SIM verification. At present, accessing the phone number bound to the device is not programmatically accessible. Would Apple consider exposing this API via a user consent? Otherwise, what is the suggested approach to verify the SIM card is the correct phone number on an iOS device?

Delays When Creating Advanced App Clip Experiences for Other Businesses
Hey there, I have an app where I create custom Advanced App Clip Experiences for other businesses which seems to be a valid thing. I do create them via API. Upon creation everything looks fine: when I go to App Store Connect -> App -> Advanced App Clip Experiences, I do see the new App Clip Experience I've just created. Their status is Received (as any other active experiences) and have a custom URL. The issue is weird timing when the Advanced App Clip Experience actually becomes available on the iPhone (can be triggered via App Clip Code, etc). Some experiences become available literally immediately but others take days (some take 1-2 days, some take ~5 days). I'm not sure why there's a bid difference for an Advanced App Clip to be actually active. Does anyone have any kind of experience with that? I don't change domain settings, app's settings, etc. I'm just creating a new experience (both via API or manually at App Store Connect) and I do have different "activation" times for different App Clips. Same when I delete an Advanced App Clip Experience, it will still be available for next couple days. I get there might be caching stuff, etc. But the difference is quite huge and makes no sense since as I've mentioned some clips become available immediately but some takes days to be available. Thank you!

Token Selection from DeviceActivityReport
I'd like to allow users to select apps to shield from a DeviceActivityReport (similar to how Apple's Screen Time Settings activity report allows a user to "add limits" to a selected app in the report. What I need to do is pass an appToken from the DeviceActivityReportExtension to my app. I realize the extension is sandboxed and doesn't allow "private" data to be seen outside of the sandbox. The docs state: To protect the user’s privacy, your extension runs in a sandbox. This sandbox prevents your extension from making network requests or moving sensitive content outside the extension’s address space. However, tokens aren't "sensitive". I want to pass a token set out of the sandboxed extension so users can select certain apps from the report that my app can use for setting limits, etc. I thought using App Groups and saving data with UserDefaults with a suiteName for my app group would do it, but it doesn't appear to allow me to pass the token data. Yes I'm using the same KEY for both as I set a config enum to ensure it's the same and I can pass tokens successfully between other extensions/apps in the app group, but not the report extension. It seems the app and the extension have their own stores as the report extension can write to and read from a store but despite being the same suiteName, other apps in the app group don't get or send data to the Report Extension. I realize this is probably due to the design with the sandbox to protect user privacy, however it seems an exception should be made for passing tokens (or even better allow passing through another method like a callback, etc). Is there ay way to accomplish passing a token from the sandboxed report extension to my app?

ScreenCaptureKit confuses virtual displays
If there are multiple virtual displays connected when an app starts using SCStream, then if there is any change in the configuration of connected virtual screens (one of them gets disconnected, reconnected, etc), a new SCStream will always stream the content of the last connected virtual screen, no matter which virtual screen is intended to be streamed. This happens despite the fact that the SCContentFilter is properly configured for the stream, with the filter's content having the right displayID with the proper frame in the global display coordinate system and the filter also confirms that it knows the proper contentRect size and pointPixelScale. When all virtual displays are disconnected and reconnected, things return to normal - it's as is SCStream somehow gets confused and can't properly handle or internally reenumerate multiple virtual screens until none is connected. This issue does not normally come up, as most users will probably have only one virtual displays (like a Sidecar display) connected at most. However some configurations (like systems using multiple DisplayLink displays or apps using the undocumented CGVirtualDisplay to create virtual screens) encounter this issue. Note: this is a longstanding problem, has been like this from the first introduction of ScreenCaptureKit and even before, affected CGDisplayStream which similarly confused virtual screens.

Bug in Screen Time API: familyActivityPicker dismisses a presenting sheet on iOS 18.4 and above
Hello, I’m presenting the familyActivityPicker from a presented sheet in my application. When I select some apps, categories or websites and tap “Done”, the familyActivityPicker is dismissed but the presenting sheet is also dismissed on iOS 18.4, iOS 18.5, iOS 26 beta 1 and 2. If I tap on “Cancel” from the familyActivityPicker, the sheet is also dismissed on iOS 18.4, iOS 18.5, iOS 26 beta 1 and 2. JWT Token Errors
I have an app using weatherkit and its currently live and up on the app store, recently I had some users report to me that they had been receiving errors loading weather data, I had error handling built in and it reported an issue with apples authentication server Failed to generate jwt token for: com.apple.weatherkit.authservice with error: Error Domain=WeatherDaemon.WDSJWTAuthenticatorServiceListener.Errors Code=2 "(null)" I have not come across this during the development lifecycle of my project, there where no codebase changes, it just stopped functioning. The app entitlements are valid and correct, Weatherkit is enabled in both xcode and across my Certs, identifiers and profiles. I was not experiencing this issue until I reinstalled the app from the app store completly by first removing it and then re-installing fresh. Hard reboots do not help and I do not want to start suggesting to my users to factory reset their devices. We are using WeatherKit in both our main app and widget, relying entirely on Apple’s framework for authentication and token management. We do not generate or inject our own JWT tokens; all token handling is managed by WeatherKit. We have implemented a debug menu with the following actions: Clear WeatherKit JWT tokens from the keychain Clear all related UserDefaults key Clear all app group data and all UserDefaults. Perform a “nuclear” cache clear (removes all app data, keychain, and cached files). We log all WeatherKit fetch attempts and failures, including authentication errors, both in the app and widget and get nothing but code 2. We have attempted all of the above steps, but continue to experience issues with WeatherKit JWT authentication We would appreciate any guidance or insight into what else could be causing persistent WeatherKit JWT/authentication issues, or if there are any additional steps we should try. P.S. - Tested and experiencing the same issues on an iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 The Pro Max is on the iOS 26 Beta // and the 15 is on the latest iOS 18

FamilyActivityPicker crashing when expanding "Other" category
Hi there, I'm presenting a FamilyActivityPicker inside of a sheet, and on some phones, the FamilyActivityPicker freezes and crashes when the user expands the "Other" category only. "Other" is the only category that exhibits this behavior, and it only does this on some phones, not in all cases. This issue is perfectly reproducible on those phones when using the FamilyActivityPicker for the "other" category only, but on those same phones it does not reproducible in the Native ScreenTime Picker in Settings → ScreenTime → App Limits → Add Limit. I don't have access to these phones as they are user reports, but any guidance here would be deeply appreciated. More broadly, there are several issues with the FamilyActivityPicker (categories expand on top of each other when multiple are opened, varying behavior with tapping rows vs tapping select bubbles depending on phone size, etc) that the Native ScreenTime Picker doesn't have. Grouping websites as a standalone category is preferable as well. Could we as developers just have access to that one?

Clarification on ManagedSettings Shield Precedence (Application vs. Category)
I'm encountering what appears to be a specific precedence behavior with ManagedSettingsStore.shield and would appreciate some further clarification. My current understanding is that category-level shields take precedence over individual app allowances. My test involved... Using FamilyActivityPicker to select a single target application (e.g., "Calculator," which falls under the "Utilities" category). Using FamilyActivityPicker again to select the category of that target application. I applied shields using ManagedSettingsStore (named .individual): store.shield.applicationCategories = .specific(Set([utilitiesCategoryToken])) store.shield.applications = Set([calculatorApplicationToken]) Result: The calculator app remains shielded, suggesting that the category-level shield on Utilities overrides the attempt to allow the individual app. I also tried this using a single picker, but received only the category token instead of all application tokens in that category. Is this observed precedence (where store.shield.applicationCategories effectively overrides store.shield.applications for apps within the shielded category) the intended behavior? If so, are there any mechanisms available within the main app's capabilities (potentially using a Device Activity Report Extension or Shield Extension) to allow a specific ApplicationToken if its corresponding ActivityCategoryToken is part of the store.shield.applicationCategories set? Essentially, can store.shield.applications be used to create "allow exceptions" for individual apps that fall into an otherwise shielded category? Additionally, I mentioned that selecting an entire category in the picker only returns the opaque category token, not any application tokens. Is there any way in which I could return both the category and all application tokens by just selecting the category? Any insights or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

The questions are: At least how to detect it to be able to manually reload the sheet (like what Opal does and shows an alert when this happens) How to prevent it in the first place? I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Screen Time API - Get user total screen time
I’m trying to integrate Screen Time usage data into my iOS app. The goal is to fetch the total time a user spends on their device (daily or weekly), and store this locally for analysis. So far, I’ve explored the DeviceActivity and FamilyControls frameworks: 1.DeviceActivityReport works but seems tied to extensions that show reports, not directly fetching raw values inside the main app. 2.I haven’t found a way to simply retrieve the total screen-on time (similar to what Settings → Screen Time shows). My questions: 1.Is there any public API that allows retrieving the user’s total Screen Time (like the one shown in Settings)? If yes, what’s the correct approach — should I use 2.DeviceActivityMonitorExtension, FamilyActivitySelection, or another framework? 3.If not, is it expected that this data is only available in the Settings app and not exposed to developers? Any guidance or official confirmation would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

LibXML2 parsing whitespace and line breaks
When using libXML2 to parse HTML, by default, libXML2 normalizes and merges whitespace characters (including line breaks) on text nodes, which can cause line breaks within tags such as,, script, style, etc. to be removed or merged. But for tags like, line breaks and whitespace are meaningful and need to be preserved.

CallKit UI with speaker button is not functional - Only speaker mode is enabled
An issue with the CallKit UI, specifically regarding the functionality of the speaker button. When a user initiates a video call with CallKit and then, using the existing CallKit session, initiates an audio call, there are no issues with CallKit or the audio. However, if the user terminates the video call from the CallKit UI, the active CallKit session ends. To resume the ongoing audio call, we report a new CallKit call upon the end call trigger. While there are no issues with this reporting, the CallKit UI does not provide an audio route for the built-in receiver, and the speaker button remains unresponsive. IPA was build on SDK 18 and running on iOS beta 26. Issue is NOT seen with SDK18 and running iOS 18.x or lower devices. Feedback - FB18855566

iOS magnetometer data processing
Hello, I’m developing an app to detect movement past a strong magnet, targeting both Android and iOS. On Android, I’m using the Sensor API, which provides calibrated readings with temperature compensation, factory (or online) soft-iron calibration, and online hard-iron calibration. The equivalent on iOS appears to be the CMCalibratedMagneticField data from the CoreMotion framework. However, I’m encountering an issue with the iOS implementation. The magnetometer data on iOS behaves erratically compared to Android. While Android produces perfectly symmetric peaks, iOS shows visual peaks that report double the magnetic field strength. Additionally, there’s a "pendulum" effect: the field strength rises, drops rapidly, rises again to form a "double peak" structure, and takes a while to return to the local Earth magnetic field average. The peaks on iOS are also asymmetric. I’m wondering if this could be due to sensor fusion algorithms applied by iOS, which might affect the CMCalibratedMagneticField data. Are there other potential reasons for this behavior? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Automatic App Icon Style Change in iOS 26
After updating from iOS 18 to iOS 26, our app icon appears to have automatically received the new 'Liquid Glass' effect. We confirmed that this change occurred without us releasing a new app update. My questions are: Is this a system behavior where iOS 26 automatically applies the new icon style to existing apps? If so, is it possible for a developer to control or customize this effect? I am also wondering if there are any methods other than using Icon Composer.

Pushkit/Callkit with unlocked SIM before first unlock
We have a problem in a scenario that SIM lock is disabled so after a phone reboots it has the Internet connection but it is still locked. When you call into the VOIP app the app is not being launched as the result (it seems reasonable because it wouldn't be able to access the keychain items etc...) but the OS still seem to enforce the rule that the app needs to report the new incoming call. When we then unlock the app we can see no more pushkit pushes are arriving (dropped on the floor in the console) but we get the three initial pushes that were send during the locked phase right after the app launch.

FinanceKit - Any way to get merchant location info from transactions?
Hi all — I’m building a Wallet-style transaction details view using FinanceKit and I’m running into a gap around merchant location. What I’m seeing FinanceKit gives me great core fields (amount, currency, status, dates, MCC, merchantName, transactionDescription), but I’m not seeing any address or place/location metadata on a Transaction. For example, a small/local merchant where I can plausibly infer a single place: Fetched transaction: Transaction( id: 8D142B16-3E0E-40B8-945A-2E7C0CF65F1D, accountID: 14939CF4-DBC3-4A9D-8292-5FEA495B8461, transactionAmount: 47.24 USD, creditDebitIndicator: .debit, transactionDescription: "Local Dental Care", originalTransactionDescription: "Local Dental Care", merchantCategoryCode: 8021, merchantName: "Local Dental Care", transactionType: .pointOfSale, status: .booked, transactionDate: 2025-08-20 22:27:50 +0000, postedDate: 2025-08-21 11:22:06 +0000 ) Because this appears to be a single-location practice, I can usually resolve it to a place using MapKit search heuristics. But for big-box chains, I don’t get enough signal to determine which store: Fetched transaction: Transaction( id: 3F8E9F74-7565-4D24-9038-8FD709184799, accountID: 14939CF4-DBC3-4A9D-8292-5FEA495B8461, transactionAmount: 441.77 USD, creditDebitIndicator: .debit, transactionDescription: "The Home Depot", originalTransactionDescription: "The Home Depot", merchantCategoryCode: 5200, merchantName: "The Home Depot", transactionType: .pointOfSale, status: .booked, transactionDate: 2023-12-27 23:07:02 +0000, postedDate: 2023-12-29 03:09:41 +0000 ) There’s no store number, address, phone, or any stable identifier. With hundreds of locations, I can’t deterministically choose a map pin or fetch the right brand assets. What I’m trying to achieve I’d like to replicate the Apple Wallet experience: show a small map snapshot and merchant visuals (logo/name that match Apple Maps / the Place Card) on the transaction detail screen. Without a location hint, I have to either: Ask users to pick a store manually, or Make a guess based on a coarse, app-defined region …neither of which feels great. Questions Is there any way in FinanceKit today to access merchant location or a resolvable identifier (e.g., address, city/state, store number, Apple Maps place identifier, network merchant ID/MID, terminal ID, etc.)? If not, can FinanceKit expose additional merchant metadata (even opt-in / privacy-preserving) to enable Wallet-like enrichment? A few examples that would unblock this: merchantAddress (or components: street/city/region/postalCode/country) merchantPhone (often unique per store) merchantIdentifier (stable per physical location, e.g., network merchant ID / store number) mapsPlaceURL or mapsPlaceIdentifier (linkage to the Apple Maps Place Card) brandAssetURL (logo/brand reference similar to what Wallet shows) With even one of the above, I could reliably: Render an accurate map snapshot, Fetch the correct brand assets, and Avoid prompting the user or inferring via fuzzy search. Context / constraints I do not want to (and shouldn’t need to) request or monitor the user’s device location to resolve a merchant’s store location. For small merchants, MapKit text search is often enough. For large chains, I need a store-level identifier. If there’s an existing field or recommended approach I’m missing, I’d love pointers. If not, please consider this a feature request for richer merchant metadata in FinanceKit so developers can build Wallet-quality transaction details. Thanks!

Access resource in swift package from xcframework
I have an iOS app that includes a local Swift package. This Swift package contains some .plist files added as resources. The package also depends on an XCFramework. I want to read these .plist files from within the XCFramework. What I’d like to know is: Is this a common or recommended approach—having resources in a Swift package and accessing them from an XCFramework? Previously, I had the .plist files added directly to the main app target, and accessing them from the XCFramework felt straightforward. With the new setup, I’m trying to determine whether this method (placing resources in a Swift package and accessing them from an XCFramework) is considered good practice. For context: I am currently able to read the .plist files from the XCFramework by passing Bundle.module through one of the APIs exposed by the XCFramework.

ShieldConfiguration: Shield does not update when token is moved from one store to anohter (while in foreground)
Hello, I have noticed that the ShieldConfiguration is only requested when opening a target app, and never when the application token is moved to a different shield while the target app remains in foreground. This causes problems because many times the wrong ShieldConfiguration is displayed (recycled) instead of requesting a new ShieldConfiguration. This bug has been around since the introduction of the Screen Time API in 2020 and is has not been addressed. Bug reports: FB14237883 FB17902392 Please fix asap!! Not acceptable to have bugs not being addressed for more than 5 years. Most concerning: This is still reproducing on iOS 26 beta 7!! Thanks a lot for your help.

UV Index hourly forecast instability
I pull an hourly UV index forecast in my app via WeatherKit, but I’ve noticed it flips back and forth between two "stable" forecasts throughout the day, as if the data source is switching between providers, as a result giving a sense of instability in the presented forecast. Is there any way to lock or specify a single forecast source for greater consistency? I have a feature that notifies users when the UV index crosses a set threshold, but these repeated “back-and-forth” changes trigger multiple alerts that feel spammy and unreliable. Any advice or best practices for handling this would be greatly appreciated.
