Notification easy control
Dear Apple Team, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share a playful and innovative idea that could enhance the iPhone experience—particularly when viewing content in full-screen mode through apps like Apple TV or YouTube. Feature Concept: Hands-Free Dismissal of Notifications When the iPhone is in landscape mode, incoming notifications can interrupt the viewing experience. While Focus Mode and swipe gestures help, I thought of a more intuitive and hands-free interaction: using a light puff of air directed toward the screen to dismiss a notification. This interaction could use the microphone or other onboard sensors to detect a brief burst of air, providing a fun and natural way to maintain immersion without touching the device. If this isn’t feasible with current hardware, here are a few alternative concepts that align with the same goal: Blink to Dismiss: Using Face ID sensors to detect a quick blink as a hands-free gesture. Shake to Dismiss: A gentle shake gesture when holding the iPhone in one hand. Gaze-Based Dismissal: Notifications automatically disappear after a brief moment of eye contact. These ideas could offer both accessibility benefits and a touch of delight—making the iPhone feel even more magical and responsive. Thank you for your time and for considering this suggestion! Warm regards, Badhan Baidya

Can I enable push notifications in an iOS app built from a web app URL using PWA Builder?
Hi all, I have a React web app that we use as a Progressive Web App (PWA). We currently: Use PWA Builder to package it for Android and iOS Host the app on a secure HTTPS URL Use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for push notifications (working on Android) However, on iOS, we are unable to get push notifications to work. I understand that PWAs on iOS have limited push support (Safari only, and not through WebView). So I explored using Capacitor, but: Capacitor can load a server.url pointing to our hosted app (great for reuse), but push notifications don’t work If we build the web app locally (npm run build) and embed it in the native iOS shell via Capacitor, push works We would prefer not to fully merge our authentication and main app UIs if avoidable Questions: Is there any approved way to enable push notifications in an iOS .ipa built from a hosted web app (URL) using PWA Builder? If not, is embedding the web assets locally the only Apple-approved way to get push support? Are there any best practices or native plugin recommendations (e.g., APNs or FCM) for handling push notifications in iOS app? Thanks in advance for any guidance. 🙏 Let me know if more technical details would help.

PushKit with CallKit - CallKit not shown when app is in background or terminated
Hi team, I am developing VOIP feature using PushKit and CallKit but CallKit is not show when app in background or terminate state, now in foreground state I can call reportNewIncomingCall from pushRegistry-didReceiveIncomingPushWith and it's work as expected but the problem is in background or terminate state it's not my setup: PushKit is configured In Signing & Capabilities I add background modes (Remote notifications and Voice over IP) In info.plist I add <key>UIBackgroundModes</key> <array> <string>voip</string> I'm not sure should I create new VOIP Certificate but now I can receive message notification normally. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thank you

Badge Number Persists When Re-Installing Application
I have been working on adding a badge number count to my app, but have run into a really weird edge case. If I have a badge number on my app, delete the application and then re-install it, the badge number still persists on the app icon until I first open the app. I tried looking to see if there is a lifecycle method that is triggered upon uninstalling an app as well as if there is a specific userDefaults attribute to check in order to clear the badge, but I can't find any clear solutions. Does anyone know of a fix to this issue?

How can you tick between live activities?
I have been watching the following moment from wwdc (Design dynamic Live Activities): https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2023/10194/?time=728 It suggest that you should 'tick' between multiple live activities of your app: When you want to show multiple sessions for your app going on at once, consider ticking between the display of them to continue to give users an eye on everything that’s going on. How can I tick between them? More specifically how can I do that when my app is in the background?

Critical Alerts Entitlement
Hi Team, We’re following up on our request for the Critical Alert entitlement for our app, which we plan to use to notify users about critical states of their devices. It’s been almost 4 weeks since we submitted the request, and we wanted to check on the typical review timeline so we can plan our upcoming work accordingly. If there’s anything we can provide or clarify to help complete the review or make the process easier, we’d be happy to assist. or the right forum to reach out to.

Server notifications v2 UNSUCCESSFUL_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE
Hello. I'm currently implementing Apple Notification v2 to prepare for refunds for in-app purchases, but I'm not receiving requests from Apple servers to my backend server. I've applied HTTPS (TLS 1.2) and correctly registered production/sandbox notification URLs on App Store Connect. After requesting a test notification, when I check the status of testNotificationToken, I receive an UNSUCCESSFUL_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE as follows: {"signedPayload":"......":[{"atteptDate":1752128001970,"sendAttemptResult":"UNSUCCESSFUL_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE"}]} The endpoint for receiving notifications is set to accept POST requests with application/json format, and it responds with 200 (OK) without any content. However, Apple notifications are not coming through. Could anyone help me with this issue?

Push Live Activity not showing up
This is in an iOS Simulator running iOS 18.2 I send a start live activity push notification from the Push Notifications Console on icloud.developer.apple.com. When checking the console.log output it seems to receive the message, yet the activity does not appear in the dynamic island. (the app is backgrounded when I test this) Can anyone tell me why it's not showing? Starting the same activity from within the app using Swift code works fine. Cannot receive APNs notification
Hi all, We encountered an issue where APNs (Apple Push Notification service) push messages cannot be received during development. The specific description is as follows: Our app runs on an iPad that connects to the cellular network using a SIM card and accesses the Internet through the company's MDM, which provides APN setting proxies. During operation, we found that the device fails to receive push messages from APNs. Network packet capture revealed that the connection attempt by apsd to port 5223 failed. According to Apple's documentation (https://support.apple.com/zh-cn/102266), when port 5223 cannot be connected to, it will fall back to port 443 and use a proxy. However, our packet capture showed that when port 5223 was unreachable, the apsd service on the iPad did not attempt to establish a connection to port 443. Since the iPad device currently cannot establish a connection with APNs, it consistently fails to receive push messages from APNs. We tried disconnecting the SIM card and using a Wi-Fi environment, and in this case, the iPad device was able to receive push messages from APNs normally. Could you advise us on how to proceed with troubleshooting in this situation?

Push Notifications
以下の問題が発生しています: 特定のデバイスでプッシュ通知が受信されません。 考えられる原因は何でしょうか? プッシュ通知は自社のサーバーから送信しており、APNs(Apple Push Notification service)からは正常な応答が返ってきています。 ユーザーはデバイスで通知が有効になっていることを確認しており、ネットワークの問題も報告されていません。 この問題は複数のユーザーに発生しています。

Action Required: Apple Push Notification Service Server Certificate Update
Hi Apple Team, we reiceved the following message. Hello, We’re reaching out with a final reminder that the Certification Authority (CA) for Apple Push Notification service (APNs) is changing. APNs updated the server certificates in sandbox on January 21, 2025. APNs production server certificates will be updated on February 24, 2025. To continue using APNs without interruption, you’ll need to update your application’s Trust Store to include the new server certificate: SHA-2 Root: USERTrust RSA Certification Authority certificate. Our web service sends token-based push notifications directly to the Apple Push server. For testing: https://api.development.push.apple.com:443 In production: https://api.push.apple.com:443 We have never installed any certificates for using APNs. Do we need to take any action regarding this message, or can we ignore it?

[App Store Server Notifications] ONE_TIME_CHARGE production release...
Dear Apple! During WWDC24 you announced that ONE_TIME_CHARGE notification is available on the sandbox environment and will be available "it will be available in production later this year" - it's March 2025 and there is still no production release of this feature. Could you share some timeline and plans for when we can expect that feature deployed to production? Thanks in advance!

Significant increase in 410 "Unregistered" responses from APNs when sending push notifications.
We are observing a significant increase in 410 "Unregistered/ExpiredToken" responses from APNs when sending push notifications after 20 July. According to documentation, this indicates that the device token is no longer valid for the specified topic. However, the sudden spike raises questions about whether there have been any recent updates or changes to APNs' token invalidation logic. Could you please confirm: Whether there have been any recent updates in APNs behavior related to 410 responses? If there are best practices or recommendations for handling large volumes of token invalidations in order to detect uninstallations?

Provisioning Profile Missing Push Notification Entitlement (com.apple.developer.push-notifications) Despite Being Enabled
I'm running into an issue during the iOS build process for my app, and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. ❗ The Problem When attempting to archive the app via EAS Build (Expo), the build fails with the following error: `Provisioning profile "HCF_AppStore_ProvisioningProfile" doesn't include the com.apple.developer.push-notifications entitlement. Profile qualification is using entitlement definitions that may be out of date. Connect to network to update.` What I’ve Already Done: Enabled Push Notifications capability for the App ID (com.rsmco.helpcreatefamilies) in the Apple Developer portal. Deleted and regenerated the App Store Provisioning Profile after enabling the capability. Confirmed the new profile is associated with the correct App ID and Distribution Certificate. Uploaded the new profile to EAS (Expo) and rebuilt the app. Yet the error persists during the Xcode archive step with Exit code 65. Additional Info: Provisioning Profile Name: HCF_AppStore_ProvisioningProfile App ID: com.rsmco.helpcreatefamilies Team: Reproductive Sciences Management Company, LLC Workflow: Expo EAS Build Capability causing issue: com.apple.developer.push-notifications
