Inquire the types of notifications that can occur in a SANDBOX environment
Hello, WWDC 2024 is trying to conduct a test to receive notifications related to ONE_TIME_CHARGE, CONNSUMPTION_REQUEST, CONMSUMPTION_INFO, REFUND, and REFUND_DECLINED as described in the example of purchasing consumables, but as a result of the continuous search, I found that it is difficult to occur except for
ONE_TIME_CHARGE.
So, in order to verify only the business logic as shown below, we are testing only the business logic without actually calling the API after purchasing the test and saving the signaled Payload that we received in response to ONE_TIME_CHARGE. Can we actually request a refund for the test purchase and receive the corresponding notification and actually send the response?
public void handleSignedNotification(String signedNotification) throws Exception {
ResponseBodyV2DecodedPayload payload = signedDataVerifier.verifyAndDecodeNotification(signedNotification);
NotificationTypeV2 type = payload.getNotificationType();
//For Apple Server Notification, only ONE_TIME_CHARGE notifications are enabled in the test environment, so for testing, change them as below to test whether they are running business logic
type = NotificationTypeV2.REFUND;
log.info("Apple NotificationType : {}", type);
switch (type) {
case CONSUMPTION_REQUEST:
handleConsumptionRequest(payload);
break;
case REFUND:
handleRefund(payload);
break;
case REFUND_DECLINED:
handleRefundDeclined(payload);
break;
// For other necessary notifications, just take a log
default:
log.info("Unhandled notification: {}", type);
}
}
Regarding the call of 'CONSUMPTION_INFO', which is the response of 'CONSUMPTION_REQUEST'
Is there a value that WWDC 2024 must include when sending CONMSUMPTION_INFO, which is the response to CONNSUMPTION_REQUEST described in the refund example? I'm going to call the API with only sample provision and consumption like the sample code you introduced in the video.
I was told to submit my refund preference within 12 hours, but can I submit it as UNDECLARED at first and use the method to express my intention? When I receive the notification, I will save it in the DB and save it in the administrator page of the service so that the administrator can choose.
2-1. Some of the materials I looked for are told that Apple can proceed with the refund even 12 hours ago, and to express your opinion as soon as I receive the notification, but I wonder if this is correct.
If you get a notification as below, you should write whether you used it or not by referring to the consumption information. I think the customer said to check whether the data was provided when applying for a refund. Should I take it out of decodedTransaction, check the value, and just call it NO_PREFERENCE? I'd appreciate it if you could give me some advice.
Below is a part of the code I implemented.
private void handleConsumptionRequest(ResponseBodyV2DecodedPayload notification) throws Exception {
// 1. transaction ID get
String signedTransactionInfo = notification.getData().getSignedTransactionInfo();
JWSTransactionDecodedPayload decodedTransaction = signedDataVerifier.verifyAndDecodeTransaction(signedTransactionInfo);
String transactionId = decodedTransaction.getTransactionId();
// 2. Extract the relevant transaction (The following example is an in-app payment and will be accumulated in two types of DBs, stored in one of the two)
Sample sample = sampleService.findByAppleTransactionId(transactionId);
Example example = exampleService.findByAppleTransactionId(transactionId);
Boolean canRefund = false;
// 3. Check consumption information
if (sample != null) {
canRefund = checkSampleStatusForApplePurchaseRefund(sample);
} else if (example != null) {
canRefund = checkExampleStatusForApplePurchaseRefund(example);
}
// 4. Create Refund Preferences
RefundPreference refundPreference = determineRefundPreference(canRefund);
// 5. Creating a ConsumptionRequest Object
ConsumptionRequest request = new ConsumptionRequest()
.refundPreference(refundPreference)
.sampleContentProvided(true);
log.info("forTest~ canRefund: {}", canRefund);
log.info("forTest~ sample: {}", sample.toString());
log.info("forTest~ example: {}", example.toString());
log.info("forTest~ refundPreference: {}", refundPreference);
log.info("forTest~ request: {}", request);
// 6. Transfer to App Store (annotated with dummy requests that only confirm current business requests are going right)
// appStoreServerAPIClient.sendConsumptionData(transactionId, request);
}

If I change MKMapView's .preferredConfiguration property from .realistic to .flat, or .mapType from .hybridFlyover to .hybrid, subsequent scrolling causes a crash:
-[MTLDebugRenderCommandEncoder validateDrawIndexedPrimitives:indexCount:indexType:indexBuffer:indexBufferOffset:instanceCount:function:]:6179: failed assertion `Draw Indexed Primitives Validation
indexBufferOffset(0) + (indexCount(864) * 2) must be <= [indexBuffer length] (12).
For example, changing:
mapView.preferredConfiguration = MKHybridMapConfiguration(elevationStyle: .realistic)
to:
mapView.preferredConfiguration = MKHybridMapConfiguration(elevationStyle: .flat)
Then, scroll the map view, and it will crash. It is OK the other way around.
Or change:
self.mapView.mapType = .hybridFlyover
to:
self.mapView.mapType = .hybrid
I've tried everything I can think of, including calling functions like these after the change:
mapView.setNeedsDisplay()
mapView.setRegion(self.mapView.region, animated: false)
.mapType and .preferredConfiguration are settable properties, so they should be possible to change. I could create a new MKMapview, but I'd have to perfectly recreate the state which is not trivial and far from ideal.
I'm just trying to work around the issue FB14553276 so my map tiles don't show tiling seems in 2D which is a new issue introduced with iOS 18. This potential workaround still shows the seems in 3D, but is better than always showing seems. Seems like whatever I do, I just can't defeat MapKit bugs and puts me in an impossible situation. :(
I've submitted Feedback this issue: FB16153802
It seems like others are experiencing the issue:

Hi.
I am writing to request clarification regarding the renewal period of the merchant certificate. According to the documentation, Apple issues merchant certificates for 25 months, and this has been the case for several years. However, in the past six months, the issued certificates have been valid for only 3 months, which causes significant inconvenience.
I have reviewed the documentation again and contacted support, but I was only referred back to the same information stating that the certificate should be valid for 25 months. Could you please clarify whether there have been any recent changes to the renewal policy? Additionally, is there a way to extend the certificate's validity to the expected 25-month period?
I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue.

I'm considering developing an app where users can create their own subscription plans by freely setting their prices, similar to YouTube's membership feature.
I understand that in-app purchases must be used to unlock features within the app. With that in mind, I searched for APIs to enable this functionality but couldn't find relevant information.
When I contacted Apple directly, they mentioned that they couldn't provide specific answers unless the app is under review.
If anyone has knowledge about the following points, I would greatly appreciate your response:
Is it possible to implement a feature similar to YouTube's membership using in-app purchase APIs?
If it's not feasible with in-app purchases, is it allowed to use external payment services like Stripe?
Hello,
I'm building an expense management app and have the necessary FinanceKit entitlements. However I'm based in India and hence do not have access to an Apple Card. Is there anyway to test FinanceKit with some sort of mock data?
I have tried following the developer documentation and built a minimal implementation to share via Testflight to my users. However it's failing to get any transaction data.
I'm unable to debug the code myself and if anyone here has valid entitlements along with Apple Card, I'd appreciate if you could debug an example project I made below:

Has anyone had any success enabling Apple Pay checkout for a Google Chrome or Firefox users (macOS or PC)? This was rolled out in iOS 18 but Shopify support hasn't been able to help:

I'd like to set up a communication mechanism between the Ui test runner and my iOS app. The purpose is to be able to collect some custom performance metrics in addition to standard ones like scrollingAndDecelerationMetric. Let's say we measure some specific intervals in our code using signposts, then serialize the result into a structured payload and report it back to the runner.
So, are there any good options for that kind of IPC?
The primary concern is running on Simulator. However, since it is not a regular UI test but more a performance UI test, and it is usually recommended to run those on a real device, with release optimizations/flags in place, I wonder if it is feasible to have it for device too.
I have a C++/Objective-C command line application, running on MacOs (15.1.1 (24B91)), that communicates with a Bluetooth LE peripheral. The application is build with Apple clang 16.0.0 and CMake as build system using Boost.Asio.
I'm able to establish a L2CAP channel and after the channel is established, the peripheral sends a first (quite small) SDU on that channel to the application. The PSM is 0x80 and was chosen by the peripherals BLE stack. The application receives the PSM via GATT notification.
I can see the SDU being send in a single LL PDU with Wireshark. I can also see the SDU being received in Apples PacketLogger. But I miss the corresponding call to a stream event handler. For all other GATT related events, the corresponding delegates / callbacks are called.
The code that creates a dispatch queue and passes it to the CBCentralManager looks like this:
dispatch_queue = dispatch_queue_create("de.torrox.ble_event_queue", NULL);
manager = [[CBCentralManager alloc] initWithDelegate:self queue:dispatch_queue options:nil];
When the L2CAP channel is established, the didOpenL2CAPChannel callback gets called from a thread within the dispatch_queue (has been verified with lldb):
- (void)peripheral:(CBPeripheral *)peripheral
didOpenL2CAPChannel:(CBL2CAPChannel *)channel
error:(NSError *)error
{
[channel inputStream].delegate = self;
[channel outputStream].delegate = self;
[[channel inputStream] scheduleInRunLoop:[NSRunLoop currentRunLoop] forMode:NSDefaultRunLoopMode];
[[channel outputStream] scheduleInRunLoop:[NSRunLoop currentRunLoop] forMode:NSDefaultRunLoopMode];
[[channel inputStream] open];
[[channel outputStream] open];
...
// a reference to the channel is stored in the outside channel object
[channel retain];
...
}
Yet, not a single stream event is generated:
- (void)stream:(NSStream *)stream
handleEvent:(NSStreamEvent)event_code
{
Log( @"stream:handleEvent %@, %lu", stream, event_code );
...
}
When I add a functionality, to poll the input stream, the stream will report the expected L2CAP input. But no event is generated.
The main thread of execution is usually blocking on a boost::asio::io_context::run() call. The design is, to have the stream callback stream:handleEvent to post call back invocations on that io_context, and thus to wake up the main thread and get that callbacks being invoked on the main thread.
All asynchronous GATT delegate calls are working as expected. The only missing events, are the events from the L2CAP streams. The same code worked in an older project on an older version of MacOs and an older version of Boost.
How can I find out, why the stream delegates are not called?

Hi everyone,
We came an issue that, In some scenarios in our app we cannot fetch any resources from device (Photo and Contact).
One case we catched is putting app in background and spending time in other commonly used apps and coming back to our app cause this issue but there is a small chance that get this issue during using the application.
In cell, we are trying to fetch the image like this
imageFetchTask = Task {
let image = await CompositionRoot.shared.photosManager.image(requestType: .imageCollections, forId: photoAsset.photoId)
self.photoImageView.image(image)
}
and inner layers of this code we get the PHAsset and request image
PHAsset.firstAsset(for: id)
let manager = PHImageManager.default()
manager.requestImage(for: asset, targetSize: request.targetSize, contentMode: .aspectFill, options: request.options) { (image, info) in
continuation.resume(returning: image)
}
We figured out that issue not happening only in Photos also Contacts and
any web request. So any help according to this situation is well appreciated.
Thanks

I have a bunch of images sized 540px on the long side (some portrait, some landscape). The other side could be any size, but will be less than 540. There are no square images.
I want to be able to choose a folder containing the images, and want the script to do the following for each image:
Place it at the center of the current page of the active indesign document. Scrape the filename from the image (without the extension), apply the pre-existing Paragraph Style 'Caption' to the text, and center the text 36 points (not pixels) below the image.
Group the image and the text.
Then create a frame with white fill, 540x600 pixels in size, send it to back, center it with the group created above, and group them.
I've been pulling my hair out. Just can't get it to work.
Hi,
In an auto-renewable subscription scenario, I receive a transaction from Product.Purchase and then send the transaction ID (e.g., 500000000738201) to my API server. After receiving the response, I called transaction.finish().
The account has purchased the subscription before and expired. So it's re-subscribe.
And then, I received a RESUBSCRIBE notification from Apple’s server to my API server. I noticed a discrepancy where the transaction ID in the notification is decreased by one (e.g., 500000000738200 instead of 500000000738201).
I’m wondering why this discrepancy occurs and how it happens.
Best regards,
RoyHuang
When simulating a Storekit error like an invalid device verification or others of that type, should we finish a failed transaction? When I test with a Storekit configuration file, all failed transactions persist after every restart. The Apple-provided sample code for Storekit 2 has transactions finished only when they are successful.
I have a host running MacOS 14.7 which is used as a CI runner, with the intention to eventually scale out to have multiple hosts that can be provisioned on the fly. I'm installing some tooling on it and running into an issue where a system extension is pending user approval. The only way I have found to approve system extensions is through System Settings -> Privacy & Security. However, since this host is solely being used in an automated environment, I'm looking for a way to either approve via a cli command or bypass it all together. Is this possible?

I have been using the hourly weather forecast API, for some reason sometimes the API fails with 400 Bad Request, but on retrying just a minute later the call successfully returns data. The start and end time are 2 days apart so I don't think it's an issue with the time frame.
The failed calls also don't return any reason so not sure what is the exact failure.
Has anyone encountered this issue or knows why this might be happening??
Thanks!!
I just purchased a new 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid sedan with the highest trim package. The staff at the dealership set CarPlay up to my iPhone 16 Pro, and all was operating perfectly. Then, last week, I started noticing random connectivity problems with it (ie: no sound from my audio apps, “not connected” being displayed on the dashboard displa, etc.) I tried to think of what had changed with my setup, and the only change was that I updated to the latest iOS update 18.2
I scheduled a service appointment with the Honda dealer in hopes that Apple and Honda can confirm a fix for this issue. I’ll try to attach an image from my car’s dashboard display as an example of an error message that isn’t resolved.

I am the Lead iOS Developer for The Incc, an upcoming social networking application. The platform offers subscriptions that grant users access to premium content, primarily digital magazines showcasing diverse cultures, alongside standard social media features and additional unique functionalities.
I am exploring two specific use cases for our subscription model.
Promo Codes with Split Payments:
We plan to collaborate with the our influencers (referred to as Mover Shakers) by providing them with promo codes for users to purchase subscriptions. For such purchases, we aim to implement a revenue split model, allocating 10% to the influencer and the remainder to us after Apple’s fees.
Gifting Subscriptions:
We also wish to enable users to gift subscriptions to others within the app.
I understand that the Apple Subscription Service does not natively support these features.
What other options do we have to achieve this that are also not against the Apple's guidelines.
Since updating to M4 Pro MBP running MacOS 15.2 and now 15.3 beta, predictive text and auto completion does not show in any apps on my computer. This all worked on previous M3 Pro MBP.
Predictive text/auto completion is not working in any Microsoft apps either, and my settings are missing certain elements that my wife's M3 MBP show in Outlook.
Any help would be appreciated.
