Combining Screen Time Usage with HealthKit Data in a Chart
Hello Apple Developer Community, I’m working on creating a chart that combines Screen Time Usage data with Workout Time from HealthKit. I’ve successfully implemented a DeviceActivityReportExtension to fetch Screen Time data and draw a chart. I’m also able to read HealthKit data from the main app. However, I’m having trouble integrating the HealthKit data into the View generated by the DeviceActivityReportExtension. I’ve attempted to read HealthKit data directly from the extension , but this doesn’t seem to work, likely due to HealthKit access restrictions in extensions. I also tied using a shared object to pass HealthKit data to the extension, but unfortunately this didn’t seem to work as expected. I’d greatly appreciate any suggestions on how to successfully integrate HealthKit data into the extension-generated View. Has anyone dealt with a similar challenge or found a workaround for this? Thanks in advance for your help!

Device Activity Monitor Schedules Disappear
Hey everyone, I have an app using the screen time api, I've had quite a few reports from users saying that our monitoring features stop working until they open our app. What happens is that activities and schedules set with the device activity monitor seem to disappear. This is something we check on app re-opens and so we schedule them again and that is why the monitoring starts working again. Of course our current solution is not optimal since our app is mainly passive. Has anyone experienced these kinds of issue ?

Verify Receipt is not found - After successful payment for Annual subscription.
The application is developed with Xamarin Framework and it is live now. The customer installed the app and purchased the annual subscription. And for some reason, they uninstall and reinstall the application on the same device. Now user wants to restore the subscription. In the application, there is an option to Restore the subscription. But restore API not return purchase details. But when clicking the subscription button instead of restoring the subscription, it says you subscribed to this plan". is there any possibility of not getting VerifyRecipt even after a successful purchase?

CNContact poster
Hi all, From what I’ve seen on forums and other sources, it appears that nothing can be done to set the contact poster programmatically. Setting the imageData property affects only the thumbnail image. Does anyone know if this is explicitly documented somewhere? I need this information for a POC document. I watched the iOS 17 keynote (where it was introduced), the Platform State of Union, and other WWDC videos, but I couldn’t find any mention of it. The Contacts framework documentation only explains what can be retrieved from this property and doesn’t mention any way to set the contact poster. If anyone has any information on this, please help! Thanks in advance!

Intermittent White Screen Issue on iOS 18.1.1 for a Hybrid Shopping App
Hello everyone, I’m running an Objective-C–based hybrid (native + web) shopping application and encountering a recurring issue on devices running iOS 18.1.1: When the app launches, it only shows a white screen with the native frame visible—no web content loads. Restarting or reinstalling the app doesn’t help. In one instance, toggling Airplane Mode on and off brought the app back to normal, but this workaround isn’t consistent. There are no crash logs, so we can’t determine if it’s caused by a network error, cache conflict, or an OS-level bug. So far, we have only seen this issue on iOS 18.1.1 devices. Because our app is a shopping platform, this significantly impacts users. Questions: Could this be related to a known bug or limitation in iOS 18.1.1? Are there recommended diagnostic steps or workarounds for a hybrid app that shows a white screen without generating crash logs? Which additional details (e.g., system logs, network traces, device configurations) might help isolate the cause? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

VOIP is not receiving calls
Hello, I am developing a calling service using CallKit and VOIP push. I have occasionally encountered a strange issue. The issue is that VOIP permanently fails to receive calls. I was previously informed that even if the device is blocked, it can receive calls again after 24 hours. Also, when I checked the device logic, it complied with the policy requirements set by Apple, including correctly calling CallKit's reportNewIncomingCall method. Once the issue occurs, no matter how many times I try, VOIP does not receive calls, and neither a device reboot nor checking the Device Console Log shows any logs related to CallKit or VOIP. I suspect this might be an issue with the VOIP token, and I believe that the only way to get a new one is to reinstall the app. Is that correct? Of course, after reinstalling, it works fine again, but this is very inconvenient. I don't think this is the right solution. Is there anyone who can share their insights on this issue? Thank you.

Firebase Push Notification Background Handling Fails on TestFlight iOS App
Hi, We are using Firebase to configure APNs (Apple Push Notification Service) for sending push notifications. During local testing, the push notifications are received properly when the app is in the foreground or background. After TestFlight testing and passing review, we found that when the app is installed using the developer's Apple ID, push notifications are received correctly whether the app is in the foreground or background. However, when the app is provided to other testers (using non-developer Apple IDs), notifications are only received when the app is in the foreground, and they are not triggered when the app is in the background or inactive state. Request for Assistance: Why, after TestFlight testing and passing review, does the app receive push notifications properly in the background when installed using the developer's Apple ID, but on other testers' devices, notifications are not received when the app is in the background? Are there any differences in Apple ID types or device configurations (developer ID vs. regular tester ID) that could affect the behavior of push notifications in the background mode? Do we need to apply any additional settings or permissions, particularly for handling background push notifications? Are there any iOS version or device-specific limitations that could impact the proper delivery of background push notifications? Additional Information: The app is properly configured for APNs, and push notifications are being sent via Firebase. In the developer's Apple ID test environment, the app receives push notifications properly whether it is in the foreground or background. On other testers' devices, push notifications are only received when the app is in the foreground, and they are not received when the app is in the background. All test devices have been verified to have notification permissions enabled, and Firebase configuration is correct.

Default payment method option bug?
Hi team at Apple, here is a scenario we came across: The order of priority of payment methods in Apple Wallet follows: Credit Debit Apple Cash Our app displays a payment sheet that excludes credit cards. Instead of a debit card, the default payment option shown to the user on the payment sheet is Apple Cash. Is this a known issue or have we configured something wrong in our end?

Start multiple Live Activities in the perform() of App Intents
In my case, when two functions that start each Live Activity(not connected each other) are performed in LiveActivityIntent's perform(), it seems that only one will start. (It's the same to start independently with two Task{}) And, set one to 'opensIntent' and separate it by opening another LiveActivityIntent, the result is same. Also, every time I tap the Intent directly in the shortcut app, one activity will end within a matter of seconds, even if there are two for a while. But, If openAppWhenRun to true, it seem to works without any problems. I would appreciate it if you could give me a tip to fix this problem.

CardSession error handling with respond method
Hello, in the sample code found in the Apple CardSession documentation, there are commented line in the APDU respond method: case .received(let cardAPDU): do { /// Call handler to process received input and produce a response. let responseAPDU = ProcessAPDU(cardAPDU.payload) try await cardAPDU.respond(response: responseAPDU) } catch { /// Handle the error from respond(response:). If the error is /// CardSession.Error.transmissionError, then retry by calling /// CardSession.APDU.respond(response:) again. } in the catch part, it says that we should handle the error from respond and retry in case of transmission error, how can we achieve that ? How can we check the error ? Could you give a sample code for that ? best regards

How to update multiTokenContexts if ApplePayPaymentRequest does not initialize multiTokenContexts
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/apple_pay_on_the_web/applepaypaymentrequest/3955945-multitokencontexts According to this document, I know that I can initialize a multiTokenContexts when initializing ApplePayPaymentRequest. But I am now facing a tricky problem. If the user's order does not require multiTokenContexts, then I will not initialize this field when I first make ApplePayPaymentRequest. When the user is in the payment process, I may update multiTokenContexts. But this time, the update is not allowed, ApplePay will be cancelled and the payment will be closed. For example, if the user's address in Apple Pay is different, I need to update multiTokenContexts to support the payment of goods to multiple merchants, which will generate an update of multiTokenContexts. MultiTokenContexts can be updated in the onshippingcontactselected method. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/apple_pay_on_the_web/applepaysession/1778009-onshippingcontactselected My question is that from the beginning, there was no multiTokenContexts to update multiTokenContexts in onshippingcontactselected, which would cause the user to close the payment and need to manually click to pay again. This user experience is not very friendly. Is there a better way for me to go from no multiTokenContexts to multiTokenContexts without interrupting the user's payment process?

What are the criteria for CLVisit in CoreLocation?
There is no official documentation specifying the exact criteria for determining a CLVisit. For example, if a user starts at a target location, will the following method be called? func locationManager(_ manager: CLLocationManager, didVisit visit: CLVisit) This did not work during my testing. It was only successfully triggered when starting from a distant location and arriving at the target point. It would be helpful to know the exact conditions, such as how long a user must stay at a location for it to be considered a visit. Are there any specific thresholds (e.g., minimum duration, distance moved) that determine when this method is triggered?

Location Permission Management for Parental Control Apps with Screen Time Authorization
Apple Feedback Ticket: FB16804936 Background We develop a parental control application called Adora Kids (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/adora-kids/id6443787669) that requires "Location Always" permission to function properly. Our app has Screen Time authorization and provides monitoring services for parents. Issue We are experiencing a recurring problem where child users receive the system notification "Adora accessed your location in the background" every few days. This frequently results in children disabling location permissions, which prevents our app from functioning as intended. Current Approach and Limitations We have explored using Content & Privacy Restrictions for Location Services as a potential solution, but have encountered two significant limitations: These restrictions cannot be accessed programmatically via the ManagedSettings framework (unlike AppStoreSettings and other restrictions). The current implementation is "all-or-nothing" - enabling location restrictions blocks permission changes for ALL apps on the device, preventing children from granting legitimate location access to other applications. Questions Is there a way to programmatically access and manage Content & Privacy Restrictions for Location Services through the ManagedSettings framework that we might have overlooked? Are there any recommended approaches for apps with Screen Time authorization to prevent users from changing specific permissions (particularly location) while still allowing them to manage permissions for other apps? Does Apple have plans to implement app-specific permission locking for apps with Screen Time authorization in future iOS releases? Are there any alternative approaches or workarounds that other developers have successfully implemented for this use case? Any guidance from the developer community or Apple engineers would be greatly appreciated. This is a critical functionality issue affecting the reliability of our parental control service. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Best way to share subscriptions between iOS and watchOS apps
I'm working on a watchOS app that has an iOS counterpart. There will be a subscription required to unlock functionality and I would like the user to be able to make the purchase on either the iPhone or the watch and have both apps unlock. The first link below says that StoreKit 2's Transaction.currentEntitlements will not work in this case like it does with extensions. The second link says it might work but doesn't in the sandbox. What is the best way to make this work? Will it just work in the App Store? Should I use WCSession to send the purchase information from one platform to the other and store it in the keychain? Something else? Via https://www.revenuecat.com/blog/engineering/ios-in-app-subscription-tutorial-with-storekit-2-and-swift/ "Transaction.currentEntitlements can be used in extensions the same way it was used in the previous steps. This works for extensions like Widgets and Intents. However, an iOS app with a companion watchOS app will not work even though Transaction.currentEntitlements can be executed in it. A companion watch app does not stay updated with the same transaction history as its iOS app because they are separate platforms." Via https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/739963 "In TestFlight I was able to confirm that the Watch app and IOS app share in-app purchases. It seems the problems confirming this with Storekit and Sandbox are limits of the testing environments."

Apple Pay Wallet API Access – Applied a Year AGO and Almost No Progress! Anyone Else?
Hey everyone, I wanted to check if anyone else has faced extreme delays when requesting access to Apple Pay Wallet APIs. It was Oct 11 2024 a year ago since we first applied to enable in-app provisioning for virtual cards in our app and we made 1% progress. For context, we already got access from Google for Google Wallet—it was smooth, professional, and timely. But with Apple… it’s been nothing but an endless cycle of waiting. We followed every step, submitted everything correctly, and even called Apple Developer Support multiple times. Their response? "We've escalated it." Again and again. But there’s no real progress. We’re rerouted, ignored, and left in limbo. At this point, I don’t even know if anyone is actually reviewing these requests. If a business like ours—fully compliant and ready to integrate—can’t even get a response in 150 day, how is this process supposed to work? I’m posting this here because I can’t be the only one. Has anyone else faced this? If you finally got access, how did you do it? Because right now, it feels like Apple Pay in-app provisioning is an impossible goal. Hoping someone from Apple sees this and realizes how broken this process is. We’re just trying to innovate and offer Apple users a great experience—why is it so difficult? Looking forward to hearing from anyone in the community who can help, Thanks! 🙏
