I'm currently observing a problem similar to this thread https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/737334
The difference is that this is happening after updating a system extension.
Basically same error, sysextd complains it can not check that the system extension is notarized: macOS Error 3 + Error code=-67050.
I think macOS (Sequoia 15.3.2 or 15.7.2 if it matters) is wrong in this case for the following reasons:
when using spctl assess -t install, the system extension is reported to be correctly notarized.
when restarting the Mac, the updated system extension is correctly checked and staged.
if I run spctl assess before sysextd tries to check the system extension, it works.
I'm currently thinking of 2 reasons why the check does not work:
sysextd is somehow trying to work with a cached assessment that has become invalid after the system extension was updated.
macOS needs way more time between the update of the files and the request to update the staged extension. I tried adding a 5-second delay. This does not seem to work or at least reliably.
I tried just touching the system extension, no positive result. Unfortunately, in macOS Sequoia, it is not possible anymore to reset-default using spctl and see if it solves the issue, at least the next time the update is performed.
[Q] Is there some magic operation that would help macOS correctly check the notarization of an updated system extension?

I am trying to notarize a VS-Code Fork Electron based app for non-App store distribution. Its just same for more than 24hrs, it just says processing. Looking for someone who could help me.
Thanks
Hey there!
Thanks so much for all the great posts about this topic!
I'm fairly new to Mac development since a few months back, and I've been really impressed with Apple's developer tools and ecosystem so far. It's been an exciting journey building for macOS!
However, I've hit a bit of a roadblock with the notarization process via direct download and would really appreciate some guidance from you more experienced developers. I understand that Apple has built a well-designed automated system to maintain high security for users, but I'm wondering:
What's the normal timeframe for notarization to complete?
What are usually the most common reasons if it takes longer than expected?
Is there anyone at Apple who can help if the process gets stuck?
I'm really excited to launch my app and continue developing for this amazing platform, so any tips from experienced Apple developers would be hugely appreciated!
Thanks in advance! 🙏

I have been waiting well over 24 hours for my notarization to occur, and nothing - no "we might take a while if it is your first app" or any mention of that in the docs.
So why is it taking this long? What's the hold up???
If this is part of the process, Apple should officially document it, so developers aren't left resubmitting and wondering. This is not a good first experience with the developer program.

Hi everyone!!
I am submitting an App for Notarization for the first time, I have several attempts, some returned invalid and other show In Progress for more than 8 hours.
Is that normal?
I addressed the issues that make the other ones Invalid.
Thanks so much!
I have created a Mac Catalyst version of the same app, and it was transferred from an old account to a new one. However, the Mac Catalyst build has been stuck in progress for several days when attempting to notarize it.
After many days, I got the rejection with the following error:
Team is not yet configured for notarization. Please contact Developer Programs Support at developer.apple.com under the topic Development and Technical / Other Development or Technical Questions.
I have already tried to create a new developer ID certificate, but it still has the same issue. On the other hand, the iOS app is working fine and has been published in the App Store.
Could you please assist us in resolving this issue as quickly as possible? Your prompt help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, I had an issue when I notarized myapplication.dmg with Process 'xcrun notarytool submit' exited with value '132'.
Do you know how to solve it?
Do you have any explanation about the response value when we execute 'xcrun notarytool submit'?
Thank you very much!

Hey everyone, I’m wondering if anyone has run into any issues with this. Before I uploaded, I guess maybe 20 assets of 1080 x 720, my notarization was taking around 2-3 minutes almost instant.
Now I’m looking at 30 minutes. I have no idea when the notarization is going to end. I’m wondering if asset size has any impact on notarization speed, and if so, is this going to be a one-time thing or is this going to happen with all my following builds? Let me know if anyone has run into anything similar or if the notarization service is just down right now.

I started the notarization process for my electron app (just a browser window loading a URL) yesterday (26/03/2025) at around 05:23 GMT.
I noticed in a couple of posts here in the forum that it may sometimes take a day to notarize the first app submitted by a team, but it has been over 30 hours since I submitted the app for notarization
Here's the log.

Hi,
I recently got a consistent delay from notary tool. I have viewed all your suggestions and understand that it "occasionally" will have further review and take longer time, but then it will be faster.
However, in my case, my app although is accepted many times. It is still significantly delay.
It is a native macOS app called ConniePad. Whenever I submit, it took me 2 days or more to finish notarise, which significantly affect my business. Could you please have a look on it.
For log detail about the time, and the ids:

Hello,
I recently had my Electron app notarized by Apple and then performed the following steps:
Stapling the Notarization Ticket:
xcrun stapler staple "appPath/Aiparalegal.app"
Zipping the App for Distribution:
ditto -c -k --keepParent "appPath/Aiparalegal.app" theAIParalegal.zip
However, after unzipping and attempting to launch the app, macOS displays the following message:
Apple could not verify "theAIParalegal" is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy.
Yet, when I run validation using:
xcrun stapler validate "theAIParalegal.app"
I receive confirmation:
The validate action worked!
I then tried restarting my computer but the problem persist
Could you help me understand why the notarization validation appears successful, yet macOS still displays this security warning? Any advice on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

I have been notarizing the same program for 3 years now and it's usually completed in minutes. I have not changed anything on my end, is there a reason it's taking 24+ hours all of a sudden? I have seen the posts regarding this issue for new applications where it has to "learn", but I have been notarizing the same apps for 3 years now.
