Share session from ASWebAuthenticationSession with WKWebView
Hello everyone, In my application, i have implemented authentication using ASWebauthenticationSession. However, when redirecting the user to a WKWebView, no cookies are shared, causing the session to be lost and requiring the user to log in again. Is there a way to share cookies between the two? If not, what would be the best approach to set up authentication that ensures SSO when switching to a WebView ? Thank you very much for your help !

Missing privacy manifest
Hi, The email attached states that we need to add GoogleToolboxForMac's missing privacy manifest. I received the attached report after running my app privacy report, however it is different and does not include GoogleToolboxForMac. I'm not sure if we need to add the privacy manifest for GoogleToolboxForMac alone or for both of them. If yes, what should I put in my privacy manifest for GoogleToolboxForMac? IS IT BELOW CODE NEED TO ADD IN PRIVACY MANIFEST OR IS IT BELOW CODE NEED TO ADD IN PRIVACY MANIFEST Please reply ASAP Regards, Viharshitha

Yubikey Authentication iPad/iOS26
Hey all, Question for the masses.... Does the Yubikey authentication have a OS dependency and it only works with a stable, public OS? Does Azure/Okta/Yubikey beta OS26? My CEO installed iPadOS 26 on his iPad and was not able to authenticate via Yubikey into our company environment. I ran the same scenario on my iPad using iPadOS 26 and I had the same results. Downgrading to iPAdOS doesn't pose these issues. I'm assuming something isn't fine-tuned yet?

Issue Updating User Password via OpenDirectory API with Root Daemon Privileges
Description: I am attempting to use the OpenDirectory API ODRecord.changePassword to change a user's password without needing the old password, given that I have the appropriate permissions. The goal is to ensure that the password change operation bypasses third-party tools such as EDR or eBPF apps that might otherwise intercept commands, as the operation occurs directly via the API. Problem: When invoking the OpenDirectory API from a launch daemon with root privileges, I receive the following error message: Error Domain=com.apple.OpenDirectory Code=4001 "Operation was denied because the current credentials do not have the appropriate privileges." UserInfo={NSUnderlyingError=0x135907570 {Error Domain=com.apple.OpenDirectory Code=4001 "Credential cannot update user's SecureToken" UserInfo={NSDescription=Credential cannot update user's SecureToken}}, NSLocalizedDescription=Operation was denied because the current credentials do not have the appropriate privileges., NSLocalizedFailureReason=Operation was denied because the current credentials do not have the appropriate privileges.} It seems the error is related to SecureToken, and the underlying issue is that the current credentials (even though they are root-level) do not have the necessary privileges to update the SecureToken status for the user. Steps I’ve Taken: Tested the API via a launch daemon running with root privileges. Ensured that Full Disk Access was granted to the daemon, but this did not resolve the issue. Request: Has anyone encountered this specific issue where root privileges are insufficient to update the user password via the OpenDirectory API ? What additional steps or permissions are required for a user password change? Is there a specific API or method to elevate the privileges for modifying SecureToken, or a workaround to overcome this limitation? Any insights or guidance on this issue would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your help!

Enquiry about the Apple DeviceCheck service
Recently, we received an user enquiry regarding the inability to perform bookings for the app. After investigation, we found that the issue appears to be caused by the failure of the Apple DeviceCheck service. Based on our checks, approximately 0.01% of requests fail each day (e.g., on 26 June: 6 failures out of 44,544 requests) when using Apple DeviceCheck. Could you please assist in raising the following enquiries with Apple Support? What is the typical failure rate of Apple DeviceCheck? Are there any reliability metrics or benchmarks for its performance? How can the failures be prevented, or is there a recommended retry mechanism to handle such failures? Does the iOS version affect the performance or reliability of Apple DeviceCheck? Are there known issues or limitations with specific iOS versions? How long does the token remain valid, and when should a new one be retrieved? Does using a jailbroken device affect the functionality of Apple DeviceCheck?

Passwords App is accessing websites from ASCredentialIdentityStore associated with 3rd Party password management app
The Passwords App is accessing websites found in the ASCredentialIdentityStore associated with a 3rd Party password management app (SamuraiSafe). This behaviour appears to be associated with looking up website favicons in order to display in Passwords. However the websites contacted are not stored in the Passwords App/iCloud KeyChain - only the 3rd Party password management app (SamuraiSafe). This is effectively leaking website information stored in the 3rd Party password management app. I first noticed this behaviour on macOS, and it appears to happen every 8 days. Today it was seen on iOS. The behaviour is revealed through the App Privacy Report on iOS (and LittleSnitch on macOS). I would not be surprised to see the Passwords App do this for websites saved in the Passwords App/iCloud KeyChain, however I believe it should not be arbitrarily testing every website found in the ASCredentialIdentityStore as reference to that website url should be entirely under the control of the end user. Apple ID and App Store Connect account randomly locked
Friday we were preparing to publish our final build in TestFlight. Our developer informed me that the account holder had to agree to new terms and agreements. I am the sole user of this account, and tried to login (1 week ago I was still able to login). To my surprise I got the notification “account locked”, ”you need to reset your password”. I followed the required step: filling in the phone number on file (which is my phone number). After filling this in the page informed me that they’d get back to me in 1 day. On Saturday I received an email from no_reply@apple with the following “We have received the request for access to your account and we have denied access.” There was no further information in the email why this would be. I tried Apple support but they tell me they can not reactivate the account and I should apply for a new Apple ID. This sounds really strange as it would mean I would lose access to our currently published application forever? But in general I am just shocked how they can deny access to an account, which is even a paid one (Developer Program), and not help me out. I am able to supply all identification (passport). I have access to the email that we use to login. I have access to the mobile phone number that is connected for exactly this reason (two factor authentication). Anyone with similar experience and/or solutions?

Authentication Services uses Safari when it is not the default browser and fails the flow anyway
We are developing an app that uses Authentication Services to authenticate users. According to the documentation, this framework will open the default web browser if it supports auth session handling, and Safari otherwise. This is not entirely true, and users will be frustrated! macOS version: Sequoia 15.5; Safari version: 18.5. When: The default browser is not Safari, and supports auth session handling (Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge as examples); and - The Safari app is already running; The auth flow will: Present the confirmation dialog box with the default browser icon. Good! Open a Safari window, instead of the default browser's one. Bad! Respond with "User Cancelled" error to the app, after making the end user believe the auth was good. Very Bad!! If the app retries the auth session, the default browser window will open as expected, and it will work as expected. However, requiring users to authenticate twice is a very bad users experience... This issue does not reproduce, when either: Safari is not running at the moment of auth session start; The default browser does not support auth session handling; or - Safari is the default browser. Fellow developers, be warned! Apple engineers, feedback #18426939 is waiting for you. Cheers!

AutoFill Unavailable - The developer needs to update it to work with this feature.
I have had a password autofill app extension in production for years. It still works fine. Except when the user taps a username or password textfield and selects "AutoFill" from the context menu. They are shown a modal error dialog, stating: "AutoFill Unavailable - The developer needs to update it to work with this feature." I cannot find any help on this issue. The AutoFill extension works fine when tapping the "Passwords" bar above the iOS keyboard. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Sign in with Apple but I got `Failed to verify your identity. Try again.``
Hey there, I used our team's account to configure sign in with Apple, the mode is pop up, my clientId scope redirectUrl state are both correct. I got Failed to verify your identity. Try again., actually my account is valid because I can login to my mac and every apple website. I have tried many apple accounts and still got this error. That was so weird, I didn't find a solution online. Pls help me thanks.

Impact of SIWA App transfer on migration on relay emails
Hello, we're currently evaluating the side effects of transferring our app to a different Apple developer account. Our users use SIWA to sign in to our platform which uses Auth0. As I understand it, the identifiers provided by Apple will change, and as such Auth0 will not recognise them and treat them as new users. I've read conflicting documentation, reports, discussions, etc, so it would be great if I could get some clarification on the topic. Furthermore we're concerned about the Hide My Email functionality. A lot of our users use this feature. Will the relay email for each user change with the transfer? If so, does the 'old' relay email stop working as soon as the transfer happens? Thanks in advance!

Application not getting identified after notarization
Hi folks We have a Developer ID Application which we create using electron. We made our last release for our Application on Nov'24 which was correctly working. Using the same code, we tried creating a notarized application again which started showing the following error while opening our Application. Monterey- M2- When we directly run the dmg on the dev machine, it does not give us the prompt. But if we download it from somewhere and run, the prompt comes up even in dev machine. We executed some commands to verify the notarization: 1- spctl --assess -vv /Applications/Refresh\ Pro.app On both dev machine and non-dev machine, the output was "accepted" /Applications/Refresh Pro.app: accepted source=Notarized Developer ID origin=Developer ID Application: Prograde Digital Incorporated (*******) 2- xcrun stapler validate /Applications/Refresh\ Pro.app On dev machine, we executed this command and the output is as follows. Processing: /Applications/Refresh Pro.app The validate action worked! 3- codesign -vvv --deep --strict /Applications/Refresh\ Pro.app/ /Applications/Refresh Pro.app: valid on disk /Applications/Refresh Pro.app: satisfies its Designated Requirement We have created a bug attaching the dmg. Apple Sign-In Private Relay Issue Across Two Organizations
Hello Apple Developer Support, I am experiencing an issue with Apple Sign-In and Private Relay across two separate organizations. I have a web application that supports Apple Sign-In, configured under organization ID: 62P86SVLK4. Users can log in using their Apple accounts with the Hide My Email (Private Relay) feature enabled. This web application was created a long time ago and initially only had a web component. Recently, we developed a native mobile version of this application, which also supports Apple Sign-In. However, due to business constraints, the mobile application was created under a different organization ID: T6JT35U9NW. The Issue Since the web and mobile applications are registered under different organizations, accounts created using Apple Sign-In with Private Relay are not recognized across both applications. For example: A user creates an account in the web app using Apple Sign-In with Private Relay. When they attempt to log in to the mobile app with Apple Sign-In (also using Private Relay), authentication fails because the generated Private Relay email addresses do not match between the two organizations. Question Is there any way to link Private Relay accounts across these two organizations so that users who signed up on the web application can log in to the mobile application seamlessly? Receiving Apple SignIn profile info again after deleting account
We are currently trying to fix a bug when using SignIn with Apple. It appears that on some occasions we are not receiving a user's profile info (name, email) when a new account is created. After doing some investigation we believe this bug is due to the same Apple login being used as an already deleted account. ASF only appears to send profile info the very first time an Apple login is used. If that account is deleted and another is created with the same apple login we won't receive the profile info. As a result we are not in compliance with Apple's guidelines requiring that we use the provided profile info with Apple SigIn, and need to prompt users to enter it again. Is there a process in place to properly "clear" a user after their account is deleted in our system, so that the next time a user creates an account with the same Apple login, we receive their profile info again?

Automatic passkey upgrade not working
Seeing the following error when attempting automatic passkey upgrade - [Warning] NotAllowedError: The request is not allowed by the user agent or the platform in the current context, possibly because the user denied permission. We're trying to enable Automatic passkey upgrade (https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2024/10125/?time=38) for our website but it's not working from our testing on iOS 18.2 and 18.3 Beta Safari. The flow on our website looks like: the customers use autofill to fill out email and password on the sign-in page (abc.com/signin) PublicKeyCredential.getClientCapabilities is called to check if conditionalCreate supported. land on another page of our website (abc.com/pageX), which calls navigator.credentials.create with mediation conditional (Right after sign-in). We checked that we followed the steps in above video: Allow automatic passkey upgrades is enabled, mediation is set to conditional and password autofill is used to signed in. However, Safari threw an error [Warning] NotAllowedError: The request is not allowed by the user agent or the platform in the current context, possibly because the user denied permission. Can Apple help guide us if anything is missed here?

Help with Passkey Registration & Authentication on iOS 17 (Credential Provider + Error Code 1004)
I’m implementing passkey registration and authentication in an iOS 17 app with a credential provider extension, but I’m running into an issue. Setup: I have a credential provider target configured. The app correctly shows the pop-up to register the passkey with my app. My Info.plist is set up properly. Issue: When the following function is triggered: override func prepareInterface(forPasskeyRegistration registrationRequest: ASCredentialRequest) { "code to generate registrationRequest..." let controller = ASAuthorizationController(authorizationRequests: [registrationRequest]) controller.delegate = self controller.presentationContextProvider = self controller.performRequests() } I get the following error: Domain=com.apple.AuthenticationServices.AuthorizationError Code=1004 I do not own the relying party domain (e.g., https://webauthn.io), so I cannot configure an apple-app-site-association file on the website. Question: How can I register and authenticate passkeys on any site that allows passkeys (such as webauthn.io) when I don’t control the webpage? Are there any workarounds or best practices for handling this in iOS 17? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Custom Default Browser Not Receiving ASWebAuthenticationSession SSO After Launching Safari/Chrome
Hi Apple Developer Support, I’m building a macOS app that acts as a default browser. I can confirm that I can set it correctly through System Settings → Default Web Browser. The app implements ASWebAuthenticationSessionWebBrowserSessionHandling to intercept Single Sign-On (SSO) flows. To handle requests, it presents SSO pages in a WKWebView embedded in a window that this app creates and owns - this works perfectly for the initial login flow. However, after I close my WebView window and then launch Safari or Chrome, any subsequent SSO requests open in the newly-launched browser instead of my custom browser, even though it remains selected as the default in System Settings. I’d appreciate any insight on why the system “hands off” to Safari/Chrome in this scenario, and how I can keep my app consistently intercepting all ASWebAuthenticationSession requests. Here are the steps that break down the issue: Launch & confirm that the custom default browser app is the default browser in System Settings → Default Web Browser. Trigger SSO (e.g., try to log in to Slack). App’s WKWebView appears, and the SSO UI works end-to-end. Close the WebView window (I have windowShouldClose callback where I cancel the pending session). Manually launch Safari or Chrome. Trigger SSO again. Observed behaviour: the login URL opens in Safari/Chrome. I am using macOS 15.3.2
