Hi. With update to 26.2 on my iPad the Favorites Bar has gone missing in Safari. "Show Favorites Bar" is selected in Apps -> Safari. I've emptied cache, deleted all history, etc in Safari. Restarted the iPad multiple times, but issues prersists. This issue is limited to my iPad. Favorites appear in both my iPhone and MacBook. Any ideas?

Hey everyone, After installing iOS 26 beta, I started noticing unexpected behavior in our input event handlers. Specifically, when users type into an field, event.target.value is always an empty string — but only when the JS file is loaded from a specific domain (e.g., t1.daumcdn.net). The exact same code works perfectly when hosted on other domains like t2.daumcdn.net or search1.daumcdn.net. 👉 I created a demo here: 🔗 CodePen Demo The scripts loaded from each domain are 100% identical (apart from the top-level selector). Before iOS 26 beta, this worked fine. There is no problem with the content display of each tab, but the tab bar is completely buggy. If you open 5 or more tabs and browse tabs after the 5, the first 4 tab bars will be completely blacked out, and you don't even know how many tabs you have. If you click on the place where the tab title probably exists, the tab is displayed as if the partial display of the tab bar has been restored. There is no problem with content display. But because it is unclear what tab is open, the browsing experience is at its lowest. If you switch to the tab after the 5th, the first 4 will return to the blackout state again. Of course, it is the latest software configuration at the moment. There is no shortage of memory at 24GB. I recently started developing a Safari extension with AppExtension, but is that due to it?

Hello there, back in the old WebKit API there was the WKDownloadDelegate to handle download actions in WebViews. I was wondering how to handle download actions within the new WebKit in SwiftUI. Is there anything to use already or are there workarounds to handle downloads? Greetings, Thorben

I am developing an SSO Extension so that I can have SSO with Keycloak across applications. OIDC/OAuth2 works very well. But I am struggling with SAML. It works, but it seems that the form submission is always triggered twice. I use decisionHandler(.cancel) to stop the form submission and redirect it to the browser. I still get the form submitted both by the extension and by the browser. At some point I tried to allow the form submission in the Extension so that I get the redirect with the response to the browser. It still triggered another submission. Does anyone experience this issue?

Hello everyone, We've had our app rejected twice under Guideline 3.2.2 regarding charitable donations, and we're seeking clarification on the correct implementation. We've read the guidelines but want to confirm the technical approach with the community's experience. The Rejection Reason: Apple states: "We still noticed that your app includes the ability to collect charitable donations within the app..." They specify that since we are not an approved nonprofit, we must use one of the alternatives, primarily: "provide a link to your website that launches the default browser or SFSafariViewController for users to make a donation." Our Current (Rejected) Implementation: User taps a "Help" button in our native app. A native modal appears inside our app where the user enters their donation amount and email address for the receipt. The user clicks "Donate," which then opens an SFSafariViewController to our website's payment page (e.g., Stripe, PayPal). The amount and email are passed as URL parameters to pre-fill the form. Our Questions for the Community: Is the issue solely the fact that we have a native modal for data entry? We understand we cannot process the payment in-app, but we thought collecting the intent (amount, email) was acceptable before handing off to Safari. What is the definitive, compliant flow? Option A: Should the "Help" button do nothing more than open an SFSafariViewController to a generic donations landing page on our website (https://ourwebsite.com/donate), with no data pre-filled? The user must then navigate and enter all information on the website itself. Option C: The rejection also mentions SMS. Has anyone had success implementing a "Text-to-Donate" link instead of a web flow? Wording: The button in our app currently says "Donate". Should this be changed to a more passive call to action like "Visit Website to Donate" to make it absolutely clear the transaction is external? We want to ensure our next submission is successful. Hello, We are developing a Safari Web Extension that uses a cookie-based authentication mechanism. The extension makes a request to an endpoint e.g. /login, and this endpoint expects a cookie (e.g., sessionId) to be included with the request. Everything works correctly when running in the default Safari profile. However, when I install and run the same extension in a new, non-default profile, the behaviour changes: The request to /login is still made The cookie sent is not as expected As a result, the response returns null user data I confirmed that logging into the site in the new profile (in a tab) works, but the extension does not appear to share the session/cookie state with the login tab We’ve tried explicitly setting "credentials": "include" in the request but that still didn’t share the cookie in the extension context in the non-default profile. My questions: Is there away to allow cookie-based session sharing between a tab and an extension in non-default profiles in safari? Would switching to a token-based auth mechanism (e.g., Bearer tokens ) be the recommended workaround? I’d appreciate any insights or guidance from those who’ve run into similar issues.

I am trying to build and run a Safari Web Extension from Xcode and I have enabled "Allow unsigned extensions" in Safari settings. However, I see the below pop up: And, if click on the "Quit and Open Safari Extensions Preferences..." button, the project stops running on Xcode and nothing happens. What can be the issue? The extension works and runs fine if I get it from the Mac App Store and this only happens when running from Xcode. I even tried completely uninstalling the mac app store version and still facing the same issue.

Hello Community, My application was rejected by Apple App Review, citing Guideline 4.7 and "non-embedded," which I believe is incorrect. All transactions are signed and sent directly through the app with explicit user permission. Additionally, there's an issue with min apps where users can access the functionality via a browser to interact with the service. This feature has been part of my old application and hasn't changed in the new update. It’s the same functionality as used by popular wallets like Metamask Uniswap Coinbase Which also employ web3 technology. Over the past two weeks, I've tried to communicate with Apple's support team but have been ignored or received only generic rejection emails. This has left me frustrated and concerned about the time and resources I’ve invested in developing and supporting this app. Could you please help me find a solution? When our Safari Web Extension makes a api request from its background script (registered via "scripts" in manifest.json, e.g., "background": { "scripts": ["js/background.bundle.js"] }) to our authenticated API endpoint (https://api-domain/user), the Cookie header is not included in the request. This occurs only when the extension is running within a non-default Safari User Profile. This causes our API to treat the user as unauthenticated. The exact same extension code, manifest, and API call work correctly (Cookie header is present and user is authenticated) when the extension is running in the Default Safari User Profile.

As the title suggests, given today’s overpowered device performance, shouldn’t Safari and WKWebView allow repainting during window resizing? Currently, all WKWebView-based apps pause page rendering during resize. When a user double-clicks the drag region, the sequence goes: pause rendering → enlarge or shrink the window → leave a blank area → repaint the page. The whole process feels inelegant—especially on devices that support ProMotion.

We are encountering a download issue in Safari 18.2 on macOS Sequoia 15.2 where file downloads initiated by our AngularJS application (such as Excel exports) are silently blocked. There are no errors in the browser console, and the download does not occur. Interestingly, after testing on Safari 18.3 with Sequoia 15.3, the downloads worked as expected. However, the problem reappeared on Safari 18.4 with Sequoia 15.4. We suspect that recent changes in Safari’s security or download handling may be preventing downloads triggered via asynchronous JavaScript (e.g., AJAX calls) that are not initiated directly by user interaction. We would appreciate any insights, suggestions, or possible workarounds from the community. Looking forward to your guidance on this matter.

Hello all, As you may know, the company ProofPoint is an Apple partner, and is engaged (I think) to reduce misuse of icloud emails. We have two servers solely set up for our web-app, which is a specialised forum for apartment owners. The new servers were established about the same time, with the same provider, with clean new IP addresses - and as mentioned above, are only used for this web-app. During a testing phase a YEAR ago, we became aware that our in-house icloud emails weren't receiving notifications via the app, and further investigations revealed that the cause was that ProofPoint had placed a block on that server's IP. We immediately, via their website form initiated a Support Ticket, which, the site indicated was lodged, BUT we have never received any response to that Ticket, nor have we received any response to four subsequent Tickets we initiated - nothing. In over a year!! Yesterday, we contacted Apple support, but the devices area of support is the main section and they said it wasn't an issue they could assist with. Some relevant matters: SPF: DKIM: DMARC: are, I believe all configured correctly (and Gmail gives a PASS to all of them). The IP is not blacklisted by any list we are aware of. Our other server's IP isn't blocked by ProofPoint. So, literally at wits end, I'm reaching out to the developer subscribers here to see if they have any suggestions for us. We currently are unable to accept any new subscriber that is using an icloud email address, and that's an absurd situation to be in. Surely we don't have to go to the trouble and inconvenience of obtaining a new IP because of this!!! But when we can't get ANY response to the Support Tickets, it's really hard. Thanks

When I watch a video on public safari and then it exit the video it immediately takes me to the private tab but when I go on the private tab to watch videos and exit out it takes me back to the website just like normal. Its a pretty annoying bug and I watch all my videos in the private tab because of it

Hi everyone, My web application has two services: myapp.com and account.myapp.com. The first manages all app content, while the latter handles the authentication, with Sign In with Apple included. The tech stack is mainly composed of React, JS, and Express. We'd like to allow users to authenticate inside a dialog on some pages of myapp.com. To avoid replicating stuff from one service to another, we put an iframe inside the dialog to show the authentication standard page from account.myapp.com. Email and Facebook processes work fine, but we have the following issues with Sign in with Apple: On desktop, not Safari, a pop-up window opens when you click on the Apple button, and it works as expected. On desktop Safari, the pop-up window is blocked. We want the native Apple pop-up to show instead of a generic browser new window. On mobile, nothing happens on click Obviously, outside the iframe, everything works as expected. I can't seem to find anything related to an iframe constraint in the Sign in with Apple docs. Is this feasible?

I am calling fetch with a POST on page1 in Safari. No special cache parameters on the fetch call. The response from the server is a 303 redirect to page2 The second page -- page2 -- is in my browser's cache with cache-control "public, max-age=31536000, immutable". For some reason, the page2 redirect is causing a server hit to re-GET the second page every time instead of pulling from cache. If I instead directly get the second page by doing a fetch on page2, there is no server hit. If I do this on Chrome or Firefox, it behaves as I would expect, pulling page2 from the cache with no server hit. In case it matters, the fetch is coming from within an iFrame. Also, if I change the original POST to a GET, the problem still happens. I am using a pretty old version of Safari on my Mac, so I could chalk it up to that, but I am getting the same behavior with Safari on my iPhone with iOS 18.3.2 Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi, when I display an HTML page with a on Safari iOS, I get a nice UI. Great! At the first look I see a video frame with an arrow-in-a-circle button in the middle. Very nice. I click on the arrow and I get a fullscreen view while the video begins to play. I watch the video then I pause it then I click on the top-left x button. So I go back to my html page and the video is perfectly there as it was before. But, there is an annoying new detail. The video frame is really dark, it still presents all the controls and a "different" arrow button to play it again. In other words that nice video-frame, that nice picture, is not longer visible on the page. That nice page with nice pictures has now an almost-black rectangle. Too bad. Sure I can click on the video (outside the controls) then the controls and the black overlaying frame disappear. I can see that nice picture again. Finally. Well, but the arrow-in-a-circle button to play the video disappeared. Now the user cannot longer understand that's a video to play. It looks just like any other pictures to admire statically. Is any way to get the previous first look of the video? The one clear, with the current frame and the arrow-in-a-circle look?
