I'm using MusicKit for DRM track playback in my iOS app and a third party library to play local user-owned music on the file system and from the music library. This app is also supporting accessory devices that offer Bluetooth remote media control. The wish is to achieve parity between how the remote interacts with user owned music and the DRM / cloud / Apple Music tracks in my application music player. Track navigation, app volume (rather than system volume), and scrubbing need to work consistently on a mix of tracks which could alternate DRM and cloud status within one album or playlist. Apple Music queue and track pickers are not useful tools in my app. How can I support playing DRM and Apple Music tracks while not surrendering the remote control features to the system?

Hi all, I've been working on some personal programming projects and have gotten into using the Apple Music API. I'm currently looking to get a list of recent songs using the /v1/me/recent/played/tracks endpoint and it's working well. However, I know there are some songs I've listened to multiple times in a row, and those are not showing up as unique tracks when querying this endpoint. I'm only seeing a list of the different songs I've listened to lately, not a true list of the most recent plays on my account. Is this intended behavior or am I going about something incorrectly here? My query is using that endpoint & specifying the types to be only [songs]. Thanks in advance for any ideas or insight.

I’ve noticed that several approved DJ apps (e.g. djay, Serato, rekordbox) can already: • Display detailed scrolling waveforms of Apple Music songs • Scratch, loop or time-stretch those tracks in real time That implies they receive decoded PCM frames or at least high-resolution analysis data from Apple Music under a special entitlement. My questions: 1. Does MusicKit (or any public framework) expose real-time audio buffers, FFT bins, or beat markers for streaming Apple Music content? 2. If not, is there an Apple program or entitlement that developers can apply for—similar to the “DJ with Apple Music” initiative—to gain that deeper access? 3. Where can I find official documentation or a point of contact for this kind of request? I’ve searched the docs and forums but only see standard MusicKit playback APIs, which don’t appear to expose raw audio for DRM-protected songs. Hello, I'm evaluating the Apple Music Feed dataset and I noticed that the total number of songs available in the feed is too small. As of today, the number of objects returned in each feed is: 51,198,712 albums 23,093,698 artists 173,235,315 songs This gives an average of 3.38 songs per album which is quite low. Also, iterating on the data I see that there are albums referencing songs that don't exist in the songs feed. I would like to know: Is the feed data incomplete? If so, in what situations an object may be missing from the feed? Thank you in advance!

Hey guys, wanted to ask if anyone else is experiencing this issue. I’m currently on iOS 26 beta 3. Me and my wife bought two iPhone 16 Pro Max’s yesterday and Got Apple Music the same day. However, both of our phones (different Apple IDs) refuse to play explicit songs even if screen time and restrictions are off. Anyone else having this issue? Thanks So much.

Since MacOS 26 Apple Music has inconsitent drops to the Quality of some Tracks indiscrimantly. I don't know if others Expereinced it. It doesn't happen on the Speakers or connected via Bluetooth, but the AUX I/O has it quite often. It is more noticable on Headphones with 48kHz and higher Frequency Bandwidth. Here is the FB18062589

Hello, I'm trying to receive parquet files using the example that provided in documentation. I've done all required steps but receive constantly error 500 with "Upstream Service Error". By looking into the issues list, seems this error exists for months. Is it possible to get it working?

We are developing an apple music app on phone, the developed web works fine on chrome, but when i load it on webivew on my phone, i can't play the first song, We doubt that the drm init, key exchange, session creation was on the music.play() function, while we trigger the play, the drm or session was not ok for play a real song, so it got an error so we may wanna know: what about the realative process of drm, key, session, etc in the play() function? are there some state detect function to show weather the drm is ok？
