Touchscreen gestures in CarPlay aren't recognized in the app (delegate CPMapTemplateDelegate functions aren't called). Tried also in the Coastal Roads demo app to add test functions to check that pan functions are called - the same:
func mapTemplateDidBeginPanGesture(_ mapTemplate: CPMapTemplate) {
MemoryLogger.shared.appendEvent("Did begin pan gesture.")
}
func mapTemplate(_ mapTemplate: CPMapTemplate, panBeganWith direction: CPMapTemplate.PanDirection) {
MemoryLogger.shared.appendEvent("Did begin pan gesture with direction \(direction.rawValue).")
}
Note: buttons (on carplay app) are working when pressing on them. Also, the desktop of carplay can be panned (by swipe gesture).
Using Xcode 14.3, MacBook pro M1
I am creating a voip app, I am trying to use call kit to answer calls, however audio doesn't seem to work when using callKit when looking at the systems logs I see
no server connection when checking background audio state, won't allow background audio!
background audio processAllowed = 0 for displayID com.apple.TelephonyUtilities
no server connection when checking background audio state, won't allow background audio!
background audio processAllowed = 0 for displayID {my app id}
I have the plist entries for background ui modes for voip, audio, fetch and background notifications along with the backgrounds modes for Voip, Audio, AirPlay, and Picture in Picture, Background notifications. I am unsure what to do about this, like my reading of the error is I can't use audio cause I am not connected to a server, but like is it any server, Am I suppose to connect to the voip call before setting up audio, I am not sure how to do that.
Hi all.
Since upgrading to a new iPhone 16 pro, running 18.2 public beta, I'm having issue with my wallpaper/Lock Screen.
If AOD is turned OFF, my lock screen is almost too dim to read, and the chosen Lock Screen wallpaper has a blurred effect on it.
if AOD is ON, the screen is still too dim to read, and the wallpaper is just a faint shade of the colour of the image chosen.

When I search for text in a .html file using the Command-Spacebar spotlight popup the .html file is never shown in the results. On the other hand the .html file does show in the result when I search in the Finder window search field, or when I search in the Terminal using mdfind.
Why is this and how can I fix? I want to use spotlight to find .html files.
You can reproduce the problem like this:
echo spotlighttest > testone.txt
% echo spotlighttest > testtwo.html
% mdfind spotlighttest
2024-12-30 14:22:28.552 mdfind[28326:550500] [UserQueryParser] Loading keywords and predicates for locale "en_US"
2024-12-30 14:22:28.553 mdfind[28326:550500] [UserQueryParser] Loading keywords and predicates for locale "en"
~/Desktop/Spotlighttest/testone.txt
~/Desktop/Spotlighttest/testtwo.html
I believe this shows that both files are index properly, but if you then do Command-Spacebar and search for "Spotlighttest" I think you will see that only testone shows as a result.
Edit I believe this is a change in macOS 15.x and used to work correctly in previous macOS
I'm trying to add Siri support to my app for sending voice messages. I've implemented INSendMessageIntentHandling in my main app target.
It looks like it's getting as far as recording the voice message and passing my intent handler an INSendMessageIntent with an audio attachment, but I'm not able to read the attachment file.
func handle(
intent: INSendMessageIntent,
completion: @escaping (INSendMessageIntentResponse) -> Void
) {
if let attachment = intent.attachments?.first,
let audioFile = attachment.audioMessageFile,
let fileURL = audioFile.fileURL
{
// This branch runs
// fileURL is "file:///var/mobile/tmp/SiriMessages/89F738F7-6092-439A-B4FA-2DD9A99F0EED.caf"
let result = processMessageAudio(url: fileURL)
completion(result)
return
}
// This line isn't reached
completion(.init(code: .failure, userActivity: nil))
}
private func processMessageAudio(url: URL) -> INSendMessageIntentResponse {
var fileRef: ExtAudioFileRef?
if url.startAccessingSecurityScopedResource() {
logDebug("File access allowed")
} else {
// This branch runs
logDebug("File access not allowed")
}
defer {
url.stopAccessingSecurityScopedResource()
}
let openStatus = ExtAudioFileOpenURL(url as CFURL, &fileRef)
// openStatus is -54 (kAudio_FilePermissionError)
return INSendMessageIntentResponse(code: .failure, userActivity: nil)
}
I'm not sure what I'm missing. It looks like there should be an audio file, and Siri shows a preview of the audio for confirmation.
Hi All,
I have created a Push Notification certificate from my Apple Developer account. After downloading the aps.cer file and adding it to my Keychain, the certificate was added successfully, but the private key is missing.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue in the past? What could be causing this problem?
I've successfully started the Live Caller ID Lookup example and initialized the PIRService.
I added several identities to the input.txtpb file, some with block: true and others with block: false.
Here is the file but modified phone digits:
identities {
key: "+40790123123"
value {
name: "Blocking 1"
cache_expiry_minutes: 7
block: true
}
}
identities {
key: "+972526111111"
value {
name: "Blocking 2"
cache_expiry_minutes: 7
block: true
}
}
identities {
key: "+123"
value {
name: "Adam"
cache_expiry_minutes: 8
block: false
category: IDENTITY_CATEGORY_PERSON
}
}
identities {
key: "+972526111112"
value {
name: "Identified Business Name 1"
cache_expiry_minutes: 1
block: false
category: IDENTITY_CATEGORY_BUSINESS
}
}
identities {
key: "+972526111113"
value {
name: "Identified Business Name 2"
cache_expiry_minutes: 1
block: false
category: IDENTITY_CATEGORY_BUSINESS
}
}
The main issue is that only the number marked as +40790123123 was actually blocked, while "Blocking 2" appeared as identified contacts with their assigned name displayed.
Notably, the only blocked number was a foreign number with a different country code than the number being called. The other numbers belonged to the same country.
Can someone clarify whether this is a bug in the example project or an issue with the data file?
Hi
I am developing a game app with Epic Unreal Engine.
I am testing this as testFlight these days.
My problem is “launch URL” what a function in Unreal Engine.
This is a function that allows user to search the Internet with the entered URL.
It worked well before. But not now. I don't know when it did start not working. It's like after the iPhone IOS update or the Xcode update.
Mac sequoia 15.1.1
Xcode 16.2
( Unreal Engine 5.4.4 )
IOS is 18.2. but It didn't work since the just previous version.
Any advice can I get?

Hello everyone,
I hope you’ll all bear with me as I get up to speed. My background is in Unix, procedural languages, mission critical databases and enterprise applications.
I’ve just started heading a team with an iOS app used in healthcare that contains confidential patient information (PHI) that's governed by HIPAA and FDA cybersecurity, etc.
It seems there’s some contention in the team over whether the app, SQLite db, and medical images belong in the Documents or an Application Support directory in the Library.
From everything I’ve read, it seems that Apple’s intent is Library/Application Support.
Two questions:
Which is the correct location? And hopefully, a few compelling justifications.
On one of our iPads, the app stopped displaying what was two years of data in SQLite. I haven’t yet tested for index corruption, however one of the programmers believes this resulted from an iOS update that needed space and cleared data in the cache (but that makes no sense to myself).
Feedback highly appreciated. Many thanks,
David

When connecting SSLVPN through the "Paloalto GlobalProtect" app on an iOS iPhone, I try to connect through my Google Workspace account.
During this process, an error occurs when logging in after entering my Google account.
The error is as follows. The Paloalto Networks TAC Support team recommends that you contact Apple Support.
When connecting SSLVPN through the "Paloalto GlobalProtect" app on an Android device, I can log in normally with my Google account.
It only doesn't work on iOS iPhones.

Paloalto said that it is the same as the content of the Apple Developer Forum below and told me to contact Apple Support.

Please tell me how to solve this problem.

This is easy to reproduce,in dark mode, 2 UIViewControllers A and B, A present B. code:
class AAA: UIViewController {
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
navigationItem.title = "AAA"
view.backgroundColor = .systemBackground
}
override func touchesBegan(_ touches: Set<UITouch>, with event: UIEvent?) {
present(UINavigationController(rootViewController: BBB()), animated: true)
}
}
class BBB: UIViewController {
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
navigationItem.title = "BBB"
view.backgroundColor = .systemBackground
}
override func touchesBegan(_ touches: Set<UITouch>, with event: UIEvent?) {
dismiss(animated: true)
}
}
before present:
after present:
Obviously, the backgroundColor of the view has changed.
I guess it's because view's backgroundColor is the same as the the window, so changed the color to distinguish between the controller and the background, but this brought unexpected changes which is confusing. I want to know how this happened and how I can manually control it
My iOS app uses a Message Filter extension (via ILMessageFilterQueryHandling) and works only when run directly as the extension target. When installed normally (via TestFlight), the filter does not trigger at all — which I now believe is because iOS enforces the com.apple.developer.identitylookup entitlement at runtime.
Anyone know anything about this? I put in a request for the entitlement last week but heard nothing back. Called Apple "technical" support and they had no idea what I was talking about.
The documentation around this is EXTREMELY lacking in my opinion...
Hi everyone. Does anyone know if there a way to get a list of watch faces for a paired Apple Watch, or to set the current watch face? Or is this just not allowed?
Have looked through the WatchKit, WatchConnectivity, and WatchOS documentation and haven't found anything.
We are planning to use our internal IdP (PingFederate) for authentication of end users in their iOS apps using ASWebAuthenticationSession. Initial tests are successful, but the user is prompted for every login (and logouts) with a consent dialogue box:
“AppName” wants to use “internal domain-name” to Sign In
This allows the app and website to share information about you.
Cancel Continue”
Let’s say that our top-level domain is “company.no”, where our IdP is placed at “idp.company.com”. I have seen examples where the Associated domains entitlement points to the idp as a webserver for serving the JSON output AASA file. In this case that would be:
authsrv: idp.company.com
Anyone with experience implementing this structure with the IdP as webserver for serving the JSON output?
Our problem is that trying to use the IdP as webserver for this purpose is that it is very complicated to modify the IdP’s webserver configuration. Also, this modification needs to be re-done every time we need to upgrade the IdP.
My question is therefore also related to the options of which webserver to install the AASA file on. Has anyone installed the file on a generic webserver on the toplevel domain like
“webserver.company.com” ?

Hello,
I'm creating an app that stores multiple Date objects: the users selects a date and a time and receives a notification at this time precisely.
The problem that happens is after saving a Date, if the device's timezone changes, the Date also changes - and that is not what's I'm expecting (just want the original time as is without depending on timezone).
I have inspected the TimeZone properties when I'm building the Date from DateComponents but nothing has worked.
Thank you for your answer.
Does any ont encountered such crash? It only occured on iOS18 device.

Widgets on the widget is not responding to the touch properly. This issue is also affecting within the home screen widget in a way that the widget switches to light mode by itself even though I am in dark mode. Additionally, lock screen does not to respond once the lock screen widget has been edited. Is anyone else having this issue?
I currently create a AppIntent that contains a custom AppEntity, it shows like this
struct GetTimerIntent: AppIntent {
static let title: LocalizedStringResource = "Get Timer"
@Parameter(title: "Timer")
var timer: TimerEntity
func perform() async throws -> some IntentResult {
.result(value: timerText(timer.entity))
}
static var parameterSummary: some ParameterSummary {
Summary("Get time of \(\.$timer)")
}
func timerText(_ timer: ETimer) -> String {
// Implementation Folded
}
}
struct TimerEntity: AppEntity {
var entity: ETimer
static let defaultQuery: TimerQuery = .init()
static var typeDisplayRepresentation: TypeDisplayRepresentation {
TypeDisplayRepresentation(name: "Timer")
}
var id: UUID {
entity.identifier
}
var displayRepresentation: DisplayRepresentation {
DisplayRepresentation(title: "\(entity.title)")
}
}
To get the timers, I create a TimerQuery type to fetch them from SwiftData containers.
struct TimerQuery: EntityQuery, Sendable {
func entities(for identifiers: [UUID]) async throws -> [TimerEntity] {
print(identifiers)
let context = ModelContext(ModelMigration.sharedContainer)
let descriptor = FetchDescriptor<ETimer>(
predicate: #Predicate {
identifiers.contains($0.identifier)
},
sortBy: [.init(\.index)]
)
let timers = try context.fetch(descriptor)
print(timers.map(\.title))
return timers.map {
TimerEntity(entity: $0)
}
}
}
Everything looks make sense since I code it. When I'm testing, the console jump
No ConnectionContext found for 105553169752832 and I can't get my datas.
How can I solve this issue?
