Apple Server Notifications Webhooks stopped retrying on HTTP 400
Hey We have noticed a change in the retry behavior of Apple Server Notifications webhooks V2 starting around March 12–13, 2026. Previously, when our webhook endpoint returned an HTTP 400 response, Apple would retry the notification delivery multiple times according to the documented retry policy. However, beginning around March 12–13, it appears that Apple no longer retries the webhook when a 400 response is returned. The notification is sent only once and no further retry attempts are made. From our understanding of the documentation, retries should occur when delivery fails, and historically we observed retries even for some 4xx responses. We would like to confirm: Has Apple recently changed the retry behavior for Server Notifications? Are HTTP 4xx responses (specifically 400) now considered terminal failures that will not trigger retries? Is this change intentional or related to a rollout in the webhook delivery system? We have called the "Notification History" endpoint for some users who purchased a sub and we are only getting one attempt with the following data in it: { attemptDate: 1773469202552, (2026-03-14T06:20:02.552Z) sendAttemptResult: 'UNSUCCESSFUL_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE', } This was 2 days ago, based on the docs, the user should have a few attempts at least. This behavior change affects systems that rely on retries to handle temporary validation issues or transient failures. Thanks!

Specific IAP products returning empty data - Possible StoreKit issue
Hello developers, We're facing a critical issue with our app and need your insights: Since today, 3 specific IAP products return empty data when calling Product.products(for: [productId]). This affects all users, preventing any successful purchases of these items. Other IAP products seem unaffected. let products = try await Product.products(for: [productId]) Key details: Production environment Issue started: 2025.6.17 No recent app updates All products show as "Approved" in App Store Connect Questions: Has anyone experienced similar issues recently? Could this be a StoreKit or App Store system problem? Any suggestions for diagnosing or resolving this, besides contacting Apple Support? Recommendations for temporary workarounds? iOS 26 RC: Testflight showing wrong currency for sandbox accounts
My app has in app purchase for subscriptions, available in many countries. When using Sandbox App Store accounts on TestFlight with a locale different from my own in the iOS 26 RC, I'm getting incorrect currency coming back from Product.products(for: identifiers), and so my app displays the wrong price for the locale. However, the actual Apple Pay buy sheet shows the proper currency symbol and currency amount. This did not happen on prior versions of iOS. Is anyone else experiencing this?

RequestReview API does not trigger the review sheet in Xcode testing iPadOS 26.4 beta 3

TestFlight user cannot re-purchase expired auto-renewable subscription – only restored purchases returned
I’m testing an auto-renewable subscription on TestFlight. Now the user can't re-purchase the same product – Apple just restores the old (expired) one, and no payment sheet appears. How can I let the same TestFlight user re-subscribe to an expired product? Do I have to create a new productId for every test cycle?

Unfinished transactions prevent the confirmation sheet
We feel like we're at the end of the long and treacherous process of migrating to StoreKit2. But we've hit a small snag. When testing in the sandbox environment, we've found that if we don't finish a transactions, no subsequent purchase (invoked via call to purchase or the other purchase) will produce the confirmation sheet. Is this the expected behavior? The behavior is observed on iOS26 and 18. Our app will only attempt to finish the transaction if it successfully uploads the receipt to our API. If it fails to do so for whatever reason, the transaction is left unfinished. Whilst the user is informed about this, users will commonly try again. Our concern is that since the confirmation sheet will not be shown again, users will not know they are actually paying again - most certainly not the UX we want to have. We'd much rather have our users be fully aware when they're paying us money. The reason we're choosing not to finish the transaction until our backend has received it and confirmed the receipt to be valid is that the only way the user can get their product is if the server side is aware of this and add more time to the users account. When finishing the transaction via finish immediately after the purchase() call, the confirmation sheet is shown every time after subsequent calls to purchase(). Again, is this the expected behavior both in the sandbox and the production environments? Are we doing something wrong or misusing the product API? We are somewhat stumped because technically, we could get the first confirmation for a product purchase, and then finish it only after an arbitrary amount of calls to purchase() have been made - the user will believe they will have paid only once, but we will receive however much money we can drain from their account - most certainly not the kind of app we want to develop. In iOS 26 beta3 version, the finishTransaction method is unable to remove transactions from the SKPaymentQueue, causing transactions to remain in the queue even after being processed.
We have some users who have upgraded to iOS 26 beta3. Currently, we observe that when these users make in-app purchases, our code calls [[SKPaymentQueue defaultQueue] finishTransaction:transaction]; method, and we clearly receive the successful removal callback in the delegate method - (void)paymentQueue:(SKPaymentQueue *)queue removedTransactions:(NSArray<SKPaymentTransaction *> *)transactions. However, when users click on products with the same productId again, the method - (void)paymentQueue:(SKPaymentQueue *)queue updatedTransactions:(NSArray *)transactions still returns information about previously removed transactions, preventing users from making further in-app purchases.

StoreKit appAccountToken Not Preserved During Apple ID Email Migration
I'm encountering an issue with the App Store Server API where the appAccountToken is not preserved when users migrate their Apple ID email addresses. I've submitted Feedback Assistant ticket FB18709241 but wanted to check if anyone else has experienced this and get community input on best practices. The Issue When a user migrates their Apple ID from one email to another (e.g., from olduser@example.com to newuser@icloud.com), the App Store creates a new subscription transaction with a different originalTransactionId, but the appAccountToken is not carried forward from the original transaction. What I'm Seeing note: these values are fake When querying /inApps/v1/subscriptions/{originalTransactionId} with the either post-migration transaction ID or the pre-migration transaction ID, the API returns both transactions: Pre-migration transaction (status: 2 - inactive): originalTransactionId: "12345678910111" Contains: "appAccountToken": "abc123-def456-ghi789" Post-migration transaction (status: 1 - active): originalTransactionId: "67891011121314" Missing: appAccountToken entirely The Problem The appAccountToken is our only way to link App Store subscriptions to user accounts. Without it on the new transaction: Users lose access to premium features despite having valid subscriptions Server-side renewal notifications can't be matched to user accounts Manual support intervention is required for each affected user Questions for the Community Has anyone else encountered this issue with Apple ID migrations? What's the recommended approach for handling this scenario? Is there an alternative mechanism to maintain the subscription-to-user linkage across migrations? Questions for Apple Engineers Is this the expected behavior, or should the appAccountToken be preserved? Are there any planned improvements to handle this migration scenario? What's the best practice for developers to handle this case? Interestingly, both the old and new transaction IDs return the same JSON response from the App Store Server API, suggesting Apple maintains internal linkage between these transactions, but the appAccountToken isn't carried forward to the active transaction. Xcode 26 Causing StoreKit Fiasco for macOS?
I submitted my last macOS application with IAP on Oct. 23rd, 2025. I was able to test-purchase a non-consumable product with the StoreKit configuration file at that time. These days, every time I test a new macOS application with the configuration file, a purchase process fails. The thing is they all now fail if I test the store with existing applications that were once working. Xcode shows the following debugging error. Purchase failed with error: systemError(Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=4099 "The connection to service created from an endpoint was invalidated from this process." UserInfo={AMSDescription=An unknown error occurred. Please try again., AMSURL=http://localhost:53272/WebObjects/MZBuy.woa/wa/inAppBuy, NSDebugDescription=The connection to service created from an endpoint was invalidated from this process., AMSStatusCode=200, AMSServerPayload={ All my iOS apps don't exhibit the same problem. This StoreKit fiasco only happens for macOS applications. And I'm thinking that it all started to occur after I began using Xcode 26. Not a single line of code has changed. But the applications that were once able to process IAP all now fail. And I'm suspecting that it's Xcode 26 that is responsible for this failure. My Xcode version is 26.2, by the way. Any macOS application developer experiencing the same problem?

App Store StoreKit web hooks doesn't work o=in the Sandbox env.
Hey! We're implementing In-App Purchase Subscriptions and we were able to receive "App Store Server Notifications" on our "Sandbox Server URL". But the last event we received 22 hours ago. We are able to verify transactions and finish them, but receive no webhooks. We changed nothing on our server or its configurations but the notifications stoped to come. We consulted the API (https://api.storekit-sandbox.itunes.apple.com/inApps/v1/notifications/history) and it says the same as we see - the last event was 22hrs ago. I checked all the advices from here as well (https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/805806?answerId=864483022#864483022). Is there any Status page for the Store Kit Sandbox services? StoreKit 2 Fails to Load Subscription Products
We are experiencing a critical issue where StoreKit 2 is returning empty products when using Product.products(for:), specifically on devices running iOS 18.4.

 This issue does not occur on iOS 18.3 or earlier.

 Steps:

 Created a subscription product (e.g. "upm1") in App Store Connect
 Confirmed the product is active, localised, and part of a valid subscription group
 Call the following Swift code using StoreKit 2:
 Task { do { let products = try await Product.products(for: ["upm1"]) print(products) } catch { print("Error: (error)") } } 4. Result: products is an empty list.

 This regression is blocking subscription testing on iOS 18.4. 

 Kindly someone please advise on a potential fix or workaround.

Advanced Commerce API returns 404 not found
We got access into Advanced Commerce API and trying out the server APIs. I was trying out the Migrate a Subscription to Advanced Commerce API but the API was just simply returning not found to me with a generic error code 4040000 (this is undocumented in the API doc). Why does a purchase result in success unverified?
A purchase can result in success with verificationResult .unverified. Is there a list of reasons for which the transaction might be unverified and how should i handle it in my app? From my understanding, a successful unverified transaction means the user has already paid for the purchase. So, do i just ignore the unverified transaction or do i provide content to the user anyways?

Unable to Authenticate with App Store Server API in Production (401 Error)
Our application is currently under review, and we are still facing issues because we receive a 401 Unauthorized response from the App Store Connect API when using the production environment. Our app integrates with Chargebee for subscription management, and in production, Chargebee is unable to authenticate with the App Store Server API. This results in a 401 Unauthorized error, preventing the user’s subscription from being synced correctly into our system. Interestingly, the same configuration works in the sandbox environment, but fails in production. We’ve tried authenticating using JWTs generated from multiple keys (including App Store Connect API / Team Keys with both Admin and App Manager access, and also In-App Purchase keys), all with the same result — sandbox access works, production does not. Unexpected 401 Unauthorized response from production endpoint when using sandbox transactionId with Get Transaction Info API
We have encountered an issue when verifying transactions using the Get Transaction Info API. We tested the behavior in both the sandbox and production environments and observed the following results. When calling the production endpoint: https://api.storekit.itunes.apple.com/inApps/v1/transactions/{transactionId} with a transactionId generated in the sandbox environment, the API returns HTTP 401 Unauthorized. However, based on the documentation and common understanding, we expected HTTP 404 Not Found in this case. Using the same JWT token, if we call the sandbox endpoint: https://api.storekit-sandbox.itunes.apple.com/inApps/v1/transactions/{transactionId}, we receive HTTP 200 OK with the expected response body. We have also confirmed that the same behavior occurs when using the Get Transaction History API — it works correctly in the sandbox environment but returns 401 in production. Could you please confirm whether this behavior (receiving 401 instead of 404) is expected by design, or if it indicates a potential issue? If this is not the intended behavior, we would appreciate any guidance or instructions to resolve it. Not receiving Sandbox Server-to-Server Notifications for In-App Purchases (App Store Server Notifications v2)
I’m testing auto-renewable subscription purchases in the sandbox environment. When I buy a subscription package using a sandbox test user, I don’t receive any App Store Server Notifications from the sandbox. However, when I use the “Request Test Notification” option in App Store Connect, the notification is received successfully. My sandbox server notification URL is configured correctly and publicly accessible. I also call finishTransaction() after purchase, and the receipt is verified successfully with the sandbox verification endpoint. To further debug, I used the getNotificationHistory API to fetch notifications for yesterday and today (Nov 3–4, 2025). Apple’s API response does not include any notifications or transaction IDs for my today’s purchases (Nov 4, 2025) — even though I can confirm from logs that those transactions were completed and verified successfully. It looks like sandbox purchase notifications are not being sent or logged, even though test notifications work fine. Could someone from Apple please confirm if there’s currently an issue with sandbox server notifications for auto-renewable subscriptions?

Auto-renewing Subscription Updates not Arriving
This is a copy of a reply to this post. https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/722222?page=1 I'm posting as new in the hope someone might have more up-to-date information, as I'm pulling out what little hair I have left. I'm using Storekit 2, testing in Xcode with a local Storekit config file. I have created a very minimal system to investigate this issue. I have a SwiftUI-based window using SubscriptionStoreView, and my app set up with the usual listener. I have four types of auto renewing subscription, configured in the local Storekit config file. With my app running, I subscribe to the lowest-level subscription I offer, via the SubscriptionStoreView. Notification of the inital purchase arrives, but subsequent auto-renewals do not trigger any action in my listener for Transaction.updates. They arrive as expected in the Transaction Manager. Radio silence in my listener. If I upgrade one subscription (via my SubscriptionStoreView) I see this reflected in the UI immediately, and also in the Transaction Manager, but the update that arrives in Transaction.updates refers to the old subscription, and has the isUpgraded flag set to false. Also, can anyone remind me what the grey warning triangle next to entries in the Transaction Manager means. I'm assuming it means unfinished, as that's what the sidebar indicates. Can the testing system really be this broken, or am I wildly off the mark? Unless I'm doing something fundamentally wrong this all seems extremely flakey, but happy to be proved wrong. IAP Product display incorrect currency price

TestFlight user cannot re-purchase expired auto-renewable subscription – only restored purchases returned
I’m testing an auto-renewable subscription on TestFlight. Now the user can't re-purchase the same product – Apple just restores the old (expired) one, and no payment sheet appears. How can I let the same TestFlight user re-subscribe to an expired product? Do I have to create a new productId for every test cycle?

Unfinished transactions prevent the confirmation sheet
We feel like we're at the end of the long and treacherous process of migrating to StoreKit2. But we've hit a small snag. When testing in the sandbox environment, we've found that if we don't finish a transactions, no subsequent purchase (invoked via call to purchase or the other purchase) will produce the confirmation sheet. Is this the expected behavior? The behavior is observed on iOS26 and 18. Our app will only attempt to finish the transaction if it successfully uploads the receipt to our API. If it fails to do so for whatever reason, the transaction is left unfinished. Whilst the user is informed about this, users will commonly try again. Our concern is that since the confirmation sheet will not be shown again, users will not know they are actually paying again - most certainly not the UX we want to have. We'd much rather have our users be fully aware when they're paying us money. The reason we're choosing not to finish the transaction until our backend has received it and confirmed the receipt to be valid is that the only way the user can get their product is if the server side is aware of this and add more time to the users account. When finishing the transaction via finish immediately after the purchase() call, the confirmation sheet is shown every time after subsequent calls to purchase(). Again, is this the expected behavior both in the sandbox and the production environments? Are we doing something wrong or misusing the product API? We are somewhat stumped because technically, we could get the first confirmation for a product purchase, and then finish it only after an arbitrary amount of calls to purchase() have been made - the user will believe they will have paid only once, but we will receive however much money we can drain from their account - most certainly not the kind of app we want to develop. In iOS 26 beta3 version, the finishTransaction method is unable to remove transactions from the SKPaymentQueue, causing transactions to remain in the queue even after being processed.
We have some users who have upgraded to iOS 26 beta3. Currently, we observe that when these users make in-app purchases, our code calls [[SKPaymentQueue defaultQueue] finishTransaction:transaction]; method, and we clearly receive the successful removal callback in the delegate method - (void)paymentQueue:(SKPaymentQueue *)queue removedTransactions:(NSArray<SKPaymentTransaction *> *)transactions. However, when users click on products with the same productId again, the method - (void)paymentQueue:(SKPaymentQueue *)queue updatedTransactions:(NSArray *)transactions still returns information about previously removed transactions, preventing users from making further in-app purchases.

StoreKit appAccountToken Not Preserved During Apple ID Email Migration
I'm encountering an issue with the App Store Server API where the appAccountToken is not preserved when users migrate their Apple ID email addresses. I've submitted Feedback Assistant ticket FB18709241 but wanted to check if anyone else has experienced this and get community input on best practices. The Issue When a user migrates their Apple ID from one email to another (e.g., from olduser@example.com to newuser@icloud.com), the App Store creates a new subscription transaction with a different originalTransactionId, but the appAccountToken is not carried forward from the original transaction. What I'm Seeing note: these values are fake When querying /inApps/v1/subscriptions/{originalTransactionId} with the either post-migration transaction ID or the pre-migration transaction ID, the API returns both transactions: Pre-migration transaction (status: 2 - inactive): originalTransactionId: "12345678910111" Contains: "appAccountToken": "abc123-def456-ghi789" Post-migration transaction (status: 1 - active): originalTransactionId: "67891011121314" Missing: appAccountToken entirely The Problem The appAccountToken is our only way to link App Store subscriptions to user accounts. Without it on the new transaction: Users lose access to premium features despite having valid subscriptions Server-side renewal notifications can't be matched to user accounts Manual support intervention is required for each affected user Questions for the Community Has anyone else encountered this issue with Apple ID migrations? What's the recommended approach for handling this scenario? Is there an alternative mechanism to maintain the subscription-to-user linkage across migrations? Questions for Apple Engineers Is this the expected behavior, or should the appAccountToken be preserved? Are there any planned improvements to handle this migration scenario? What's the best practice for developers to handle this case? Interestingly, both the old and new transaction IDs return the same JSON response from the App Store Server API, suggesting Apple maintains internal linkage between these transactions, but the appAccountToken isn't carried forward to the active transaction. Xcode 26 Causing StoreKit Fiasco for macOS?
I submitted my last macOS application with IAP on Oct. 23rd, 2025. I was able to test-purchase a non-consumable product with the StoreKit configuration file at that time. These days, every time I test a new macOS application with the configuration file, a purchase process fails. The thing is they all now fail if I test the store with existing applications that were once working. Xcode shows the following debugging error. Purchase failed with error: systemError(Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=4099 "The connection to service created from an endpoint was invalidated from this process." UserInfo={AMSDescription=An unknown error occurred. Please try again., AMSURL=http://localhost:53272/WebObjects/MZBuy.woa/wa/inAppBuy, NSDebugDescription=The connection to service created from an endpoint was invalidated from this process., AMSStatusCode=200, AMSServerPayload={ All my iOS apps don't exhibit the same problem. This StoreKit fiasco only happens for macOS applications. And I'm thinking that it all started to occur after I began using Xcode 26. Not a single line of code has changed. But the applications that were once able to process IAP all now fail. And I'm suspecting that it's Xcode 26 that is responsible for this failure. My Xcode version is 26.2, by the way. Any macOS application developer experiencing the same problem?

App Store StoreKit web hooks doesn't work o=in the Sandbox env.
Hey! We're implementing In-App Purchase Subscriptions and we were able to receive "App Store Server Notifications" on our "Sandbox Server URL". But the last event we received 22 hours ago. We are able to verify transactions and finish them, but receive no webhooks. We changed nothing on our server or its configurations but the notifications stoped to come. We consulted the API (https://api.storekit-sandbox.itunes.apple.com/inApps/v1/notifications/history) and it says the same as we see - the last event was 22hrs ago. I checked all the advices from here as well (https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/805806?answerId=864483022#864483022). Is there any Status page for the Store Kit Sandbox services? StoreKit 2 Fails to Load Subscription Products
We are experiencing a critical issue where StoreKit 2 is returning empty products when using Product.products(for:), specifically on devices running iOS 18.4.

 This issue does not occur on iOS 18.3 or earlier.

 Steps:

 Created a subscription product (e.g. "upm1") in App Store Connect
 Confirmed the product is active, localised, and part of a valid subscription group
 Call the following Swift code using StoreKit 2:

 This regression is blocking subscription testing on iOS 18.4. 

 Kindly someone please advise on a potential fix or workaround.

Advanced Commerce API returns 404 not found
We got access into Advanced Commerce API and trying out the server APIs. I was trying out the Migrate a Subscription to Advanced Commerce API but the API was just simply returning not found to me with a generic error code 4040000 (this is undocumented in the API doc). Why does a purchase result in success unverified?
A purchase can result in success with verificationResult .unverified. Is there a list of reasons for which the transaction might be unverified and how should i handle it in my app? From my understanding, a successful unverified transaction means the user has already paid for the purchase. So, do i just ignore the unverified transaction or do i provide content to the user anyways?

Unable to Authenticate with App Store Server API in Production (401 Error)
Our application is currently under review, and we are still facing issues because we receive a 401 Unauthorized response from the App Store Connect API when using the production environment. Our app integrates with Chargebee for subscription management, and in production, Chargebee is unable to authenticate with the App Store Server API. This results in a 401 Unauthorized error, preventing the user’s subscription from being synced correctly into our system. Interestingly, the same configuration works in the sandbox environment, but fails in production. We’ve tried authenticating using JWTs generated from multiple keys (including App Store Connect API / Team Keys with both Admin and App Manager access, and also In-App Purchase keys), all with the same result — sandbox access works, production does not. Unexpected 401 Unauthorized response from production endpoint when using sandbox transactionId with Get Transaction Info API
We have encountered an issue when verifying transactions using the Get Transaction Info API. We tested the behavior in both the sandbox and production environments and observed the following results. When calling the production endpoint: https://api.storekit.itunes.apple.com/inApps/v1/transactions/{transactionId} with a transactionId generated in the sandbox environment, the API returns HTTP 401 Unauthorized. However, based on the documentation and common understanding, we expected HTTP 404 Not Found in this case. Using the same JWT token, if we call the sandbox endpoint: https://api.storekit-sandbox.itunes.apple.com/inApps/v1/transactions/{transactionId}, we receive HTTP 200 OK with the expected response body. We have also confirmed that the same behavior occurs when using the Get Transaction History API — it works correctly in the sandbox environment but returns 401 in production. Could you please confirm whether this behavior (receiving 401 instead of 404) is expected by design, or if it indicates a potential issue? Not receiving Sandbox Server-to-Server Notifications for In-App Purchases (App Store Server Notifications v2)
I’m testing auto-renewable subscription purchases in the sandbox environment. When I buy a subscription package using a sandbox test user, I don’t receive any App Store Server Notifications from the sandbox. However, when I use the “Request Test Notification” option in App Store Connect, the notification is received successfully. My sandbox server notification URL is configured correctly and publicly accessible. I also call finishTransaction() after purchase, and the receipt is verified successfully with the sandbox verification endpoint. To further debug, I used the getNotificationHistory API to fetch notifications for yesterday and today (Nov 3–4, 2025). Apple’s API response does not include any notifications or transaction IDs for my today’s purchases (Nov 4, 2025) — even though I can confirm from logs that those transactions were completed and verified successfully. It looks like sandbox purchase notifications are not being sent or logged, even though test notifications work fine. Could someone from Apple please confirm if there’s currently an issue with sandbox server notifications for auto-renewable subscriptions?

Auto-renewing Subscription Updates not Arriving
This is a copy of a reply to this post. https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/722222?page=1 I'm posting as new in the hope someone might have more up-to-date information, as I'm pulling out what little hair I have left. I'm using Storekit 2, testing in Xcode with a local Storekit config file. I have created a very minimal system to investigate this issue. I have a SwiftUI-based window using SubscriptionStoreView, and my app set up with the usual listener. I have four types of auto renewing subscription, configured in the local Storekit config file. With my app running, I subscribe to the lowest-level subscription I offer, via the SubscriptionStoreView. Notification of the inital purchase arrives, but subsequent auto-renewals do not trigger any action in my listener for Transaction.updates. They arrive as expected in the Transaction Manager. Radio silence in my listener. If I upgrade one subscription (via my SubscriptionStoreView) I see this reflected in the UI immediately, and also in the Transaction Manager, but the update that arrives in Transaction.updates refers to the old subscription, and has the isUpgraded flag set to false. Also, can anyone remind me what the grey warning triangle next to entries in the Transaction Manager means. I'm assuming it means unfinished, as that's what the sidebar indicates. Can the testing system really be this broken, or am I wildly off the mark? Unless I'm doing something fundamentally wrong this all seems extremely flakey, but happy to be proved wrong.
