Problem
We have successfully set up push notifications using Apple APN service, that is push notifications work when using a token generated using the JSON Web Token Generator in the Push Notification console. However, we get an "InvalidProviderToken" error when creating using our own token using the following code.
The Key and TeamID is definitely correct (obviously, censored in the below code). When pasting our token in the JSON Web Token Validator in the Push Notification console we get the error „Invalid signing key“. We merely pasted our secret key in our setNewTokenIfNeeded code, separated on four lines using the “““ style.
Does anyone know why this error happens? Given that it works when we upload our .p8 file to the JSON Web Token Generator and we simply paste the text of this file (excluding the lines with "-----BEGIN/END PRIVATE KEY-----") I guess our secret key is correct?

if ageOfTokenInSeconds <= 20 * 60 { return }
}
// Generate new token

let privateKey = SymmetricKey(data: Data(secret.utf8))
let headerJSONData = try! JSONEncoder().encode(Header())

let apnServerURL = "https://api.sandbox.push.apple.com:443/3/device/\(curDeviceID)"
var request = URLRequest(url: URL(string: apnServerURL)!)
request.httpMethod = "POST"
request.allHTTPHeaderFields = [
"authorization": "bearer " + currentToken,
"apns-id": UUID().uuidString,
"apns-topic": bundleID,
"apns-priority": "10",
"apns-expiration": "0"
]
request.httpBody = try! JSONSerialization.data(withJSONObject: payload, options: .prettyPrinted)
URLSession(configuration: .ephemeral).dataTask(with: request) { data, response, error in
if let error = error {
NSLog(error.localizedDescription)
}
if let data = data {
NSLog(String(data: data, encoding: .utf8)!)
}
}.resume()
}
}
On a similar note, some people seem to encounter this error when using the prettyPrinted option for the JSON serialization (i.e., in request.httpBody = try! JSONSerialization.data(withJSONObject: payload, options: .prettyPrinted). Could this be the culprit, given our secret key contains „/„ and „+“?
Many thanks!

I'm working on my first subscription for an app I've built, and can't seem to figure out where I'm going wrong with this one whether it's something in Xcode or App Store Connect. Any idea where to start? Somethings to check. TIA.

I have a workout app which I am testing on device currently via TestFlight.
The generated workout (tennis and indoor) shows in the fitness app with correct HR and duration.
However, when I go to my Strava app, it does not show in the list of workouts for importing. (note, activities tracked using the regular tennis mode on the Apple Watch show fine)
I have also concurrently reached out to Strava support to see if there's anything they can offer support for.
However, does anybody here have any knowledge/experience of the requirement? Or whether this is a limitation of an application deployed via TestFlight?
I have a terrible feeling I am chasing ghosts, and it may be a TestFlight limitation for exporting workouts?
Thanks

We previously had a non-renewing subscription. I think we remove it. However, the subscription is still listed on the app's page in the App Store. How can I remove this mention?
The availability is still checked for all countries.
Thanks,
Cody.
When user opened my application, it crashed immediately.

When I open Iplaytv on my Apple TV it says refresh needed but I don’t know how
I am writing an app which mainly is used to update data used by other apps on the device. After the user initializes some values in the app, they almost never have to return to it (occasionally to add a "friend"). The app needs to run a background task at least daily, however, without the user's intervention (or even awareness, once they've given permission). My understanding of background refresh tasks is that if the user doesn't activate the app in the foreground periodically, the scheduled background tasks may never run. If this is true, do I want to use a background processing task instead, or is there a better solution (or have I misunderstood entirely)?

I have been struggling to test the IAP response but it is returning empty. I am now in the very beginning of one app, and I don't want to submit the contacts and banking and tax stuff that early. are these necessary for even testing IAP results locally? I think it does not make sense if I have to.
Hi,
I'm building an aftermarket solution to enable Apple Maps to support EV routing for any EV.
I am going through the documentation and found some gaps - does anyone know how the following properties work?
INGetCarPowerLevelStatusIntentResponse - consumptionFormulaArguments
INGetCarPowerLevelStatusIntentResponse - chargingFormulaArguments
Is there a working example that anyone has seen?
Many thanks

I would like to implement an expression that pops out from the window to Immersive based on the following WWDC video.
This video introduces the new features of visionOS 2.0 in the form of refurbishing Apple's sample app BOT-anist.
https://developer.apple.com/jp/videos/play/wwdc2024/10153/?time=1252
In the video, it looks like ImmersiveSpaceAppModel is newly implemented.
However, the key code is not mentioned anywhere.
You pass appModel.robot as the from argument to the transform method of RealityViewContent.
It seems that BOT-anist has been updated once and can be downloaded from the following URL, but there is no class such as ImmersiveSpaceAppModel implemented in this app either.
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/visionos/bot-anist
Has it been further updated again?
Frankly, I'm not sure if it is possible to proceed as per the WWDC video.

We would like to be able to distinguish between iPhones and Apple Watches when scanning for devices using a Laird BLE module.
We know that we can identify an Apple device from the manufacturer data returned in the scan report. 0x004C is the registered identifier for Apple.
In the remaining data returned is it possible identify the device type?
We note that empirically, 4C001005 seems to correlate to an Apple Watch. How reliable is this?
It is useful for us, because it means we do not need to connect to this device to see if it is advertising a service that we own.
Connecting over BLE is of course an expensive operation.
Here is a simple snippet of a Swift App doing a similar thing, to illustrate the question:
func centralManager(_ central: CBCentralManager, didDiscover peripheral: CBPeripheral, advertisementData: [String : Any], rssi RSSI: NSNumber)
{
guard
let manufData: Data = advertisementData[CBAdvertisementDataManufacturerDataKey] as? Data
else
{
return
}
let hexEncodedManufData: String = manufData.map { String(format: "%02hhx", $0) }.joined()
print("Manufacturer Data: \(hexEncodedManufData): ")
// Manufacturer Data: 4c001007351ff9f9036238: Apple device
// Manufacturer Data: 4c001006331ec0640f88: Apple device
// Manufacturer Data: 4c0010052b18804eb1: Apple watch?
// Manufacturer Data: 4c0010052b18804eb1: Apple watch?

Hello, I am currently optimizing the performance of my application. I would like to obtain information about users being killed after leaving the application in the background, in order to evaluate whether the application is running normally in the background. I noticed that there is a Background Termination information in Xcode ->Organizer that records background exits. I would like to know the rules for obtaining this information and what is the health standard for this indicator on the Apple side?
Hi,
We use the (now deprecated) server-side receipt verification API (*1) with the app we are maintaining and there are some points I would like confirm on how its response changes based on whether the purchase being processed was a subscription that used an offer code or not.
I am particularly concerned about the following:
Are there any properties of the response that are added or missing?
Is there any property indicating that an offer code was used?
If there is, which field is that and what values does it take?
Are there any special steps or options required when processing the receipt which used an offer code on the server side?

Hi All,
I have created a Push Notification certificate from my Apple Developer account. After downloading the aps.cer file and adding it to my Keychain, the certificate was added successfully, but the private key is missing.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue in the past? What could be causing this problem?
I developed a Content Filter using the Network Extension, and when deployed to a batch of hosts (50 +), the installation worked for most of them, but there were six exceptions: five of them were macOS 10.15 and one of them was macOS 12.5.
The phenomenon of these 6 hosts is: in the System Settings->Network, two content filters with the same name appear. When one of the content filters with the same name is clicked, shows "Please use 'X Agent Extension' to control this content filter configuration" ('X Agent Extension' is the program I developed, this content filter can be deleted by clicking the minus sign in the lower left corner). Click on another content filter with the same name, shows 'Please use 'null' to control this content filter configuration', (but this content filter can't be removed by clicking the minus sign in the bottom left corner).
These systems are clean, use CLI 'systemextensionsctl list', and have only one systemextension in the output (this systemextension is my content filter). Online reference "https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/how-to-delete-custom-dns-profile-from-network-preference.2293322/" this paper, by closing the SIP, and delete file '/Library/Preferences/com.apple.networkextension.plist', then restart the system can remove the abnormal content filters with the same name. After restarting the system and reinstalling my content filter, the two content filters with the same name disappear (only the Content Filter I reinstalled) and the exception scenario cannot be repeated.
I would like to know, why do I have two content filters with the same name, how can I avoid this phenomenon, is there a way to remove the wrong content filter without closing SIP.
Something has caused my CloudKit queries to fail. On the dashboard I get an error message "Failed to execute query" when I try to "SORT BY" a field. The field is listed under Indexes as "sortable". For a different field, when I enter the field under "FILTER BY", and before I tap "Query", I get "No results". That field is listed under the Indexes as "queryable".
It used to work fine.
I have described this further, with screenshots at FB16114560
Hi,
I'm not too good with terminal stuff, but when I looked at activity monitor, my corespotlightd was using too much of my cpu. I decided to look up solutions on google and stumbled upon this: https://forums.developer.apple.com/forums/thread/675482. I tried some of the commands, and I closed the terminal while sudo was still running because I was getting impatient. Somehow, before I even realized it, I was logged out of my Apple ID and my desktop and downloads files were completely gone. For some reason, my applications are still the same, which makes me wonder if some of the files or folders I had before can still be recoverable. I checked time machine, and I wasn't able to recover anything. How cooked am I? I've lost all of my university work and some other pictures and stuff that I thought would never be damaged if I had it locally. Would appreciate any type of help. Thanks.

I have an iOS app that installs a Content Filter in order to block certain types of content at the network/socket level. The Family Controls framework stipulates that this can only be done successfully on a FamilyControlsMember.child account type (or on a supervised device). Our initial release has been really successful, but I would say that perhaps 75% of our users are .individual (probably over 18). Perhaps a topic for another forum post is to discuss how Apple's policy here doesn't seem to be meeting a real need here for non-minors, but I'll leave that alone for now.
The problem we're facing is that as far as I can tell, the only way to determine if someone has the right account type is to initiate an authorization request using AuthorizationCenter.shared.requestAuthorization(for:) and then inspect the error. I think it could really help the usability of the app if we could detect the account type and preemptively show a helpful message if the authorization could not succeed, and recommend some alternatives. But I've looked so far in vain for some way to do this.
Is there any api in Family Controls (or elsewhere) that can query the system for this information? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!
