The entire 'Certificates, IDs & Profiles' section is missing from developer.apple.com portal for one of the accounts I am a developer for. The Team is also missing from the dropdowns in Xcode in Code Signing. The organization account membership is paid through July 2026, and I do not see that the Account Holder needs to sign any agreements. I am a user on other accounts, and none of them have this issue. Does anyone know what's going on?

Environment:
MacBook Air Apple M2 (macOS Tahoe 26.1)
Xcode 26.0 (17A324)
Automatic signing enabled
Feedback ID: FB21537761
Issue:
I'm developing a multiplatform app and encountered an automatic signing failure immediately after adding the Keychain capability. Xcode displays the following error:
Automatic signing failed
Xcode failed to provision this target. Please file a bug report at https://feedbackassistant.apple.com and include the Update Signing report from the Report navigator.
Provisioning profile "Mac Team Provisioning Profile: com.xxx. xxx" doesn't include the currently selected device "FIRF‘s MacBook Air" (identifier 00008112-000904CA3441xxxx).
What I've Investigated/Tried:
Checked the developer account devices and found that the device with identifier 00008112-000904CA3441xxxx is incorrectly labeled as an “iPod” (it is actually my MacBook Air).
Attempted to manually enroll the Mac again, but it still appears as an iPod in the device list.
Tried creating a provisioning profile manually, but no devices are available for selection in the device list when generating the profile.
Question:
Has anyone encountered a similar issue where a Mac is misidentified as an iPod in the developer portal, leading to provisioning failures? Any suggestions on how to resolve this or work around the device recognition problem?
Thank you in advance for your help.

I am a developer with the following roles:
Apple Developer Team = admin
Using expo & EAS to build & sign = developer
We are running a new project so credentials need to be sync'd up. With EAS i can either upload a p12 or use the automatic app signing credentials.
I have successfully run this in other projects including another where I am the account owner/holder.
For this new project, however, I am not the owner. When I try to "register bundle identifier" it results in:

I double-click it, and it doesn't install. I drag it to the provisioning profile folder, and it gets deleted immediately. It's an Apple Developer problem. I've already wiped my Mac clean twice and reinstalled everything, and I'm still having this problem.

We have a command line script that runs xcodebuild to make an archive, then runs xcodebuild again to export the archive to make an ipa, and then runs "altool --validate-app" to check that everything will be fine for a subsequent upload to the app store. This has been working fine for a few years but recently stopped working and we cannot figure out why.
The validation fails with this error:
ERROR: [altool.105912F20] Validation failed (409) Invalid Provisioning Profile. The provisioning profile included in the com. bundle [Payload/.app] is invalid. [Missing code-signing certificate]. A distribution provisioning profile should be used when uploading apps to App Store Connect. (ID: )
The project is configured with 'Automatically manage signing' unchecked, and the profile was created on developer.apple.com/account/resources/profiles and the matching profile magically appears in the "Provisioning Profile" drop down in Xcode.
The profile was created with two certificates checked, but examining the embedded.mobileprovision profile that ends up in the compiled ipa payload it appears to contain 19 certificates (probably all of them for this org?).
Is there a way to find out which certificate is missing exactly? And once identified is it a case of adding it to the profile used during compilation to fix this?
Ancillary question: why does the embedded.mobileprovision file contain so many certificates, and how does xcodebuild decide which ones it includes there?

Hello!
I need help with the following issue.
I can't create a provisioning profile.
The following error message appears:
The following devices are either already present and have not been modified, or they contain invalid identifiers.
I'm a beginner and have been struggling with this issue for a month and a half.
Any help would be appreciated.
i am creating a app on "appmysite" while it runs its build test an error message pops up saying build failed. "it seems your app build has encountered an issue. the certificate used to generate the uploaded provisioning profile does not match the uploaded certificate." I understand why its saying it because the uploaded certificate had to be uploaded as ".p12". The certificate in the provisioning profile is made of ".cert". I am using a apple mac book and a xenovo windows computer. Im simply trying to figure out how to put the ".p12" certificate into the provisioning profile? whenever i go to my developer account and try to create a new provisioning account with the new ".p12" certificate. The only options that pop up for me to select are only the certificates that are in ".cert" form. I've tried exporting through "key access" and they show up in my files but no way to transfer to my developer account to combine it with a provisioning account. Any help is greatly appreciated, this is literally the only thing keeping my app from being ready for submission to review. ive been stuck on this for 3 days.
I am developing and distributing an XCFramework, and I want to ensure that it remains valid for as long as possible. I have some questions regarding certificate expiration and revocation:
I understand that if an XCFramework is signed with a timestamp, it remains valid even after the signing certificate expires.
However, if the signing certificate is revoked, the XCFramework immediately becomes unusable.
As far as I know, Apple allows a maximum of two active distribution certificates at the same time.
I assume that once a certificate expires, it will eventually need to be revoked in order to issue a third certificate. Is this correct?
If an expired certificate is later revoked, will the XCFrameworks signed with that certificate also become invalid, even though they were timestamped?
I want to ensure that released XCFrameworks remain valid for as long as possible. What is the best approach to achieve this?
If anyone has insights or official documentation references on how to manage signing certificates for long-term XCFramework validity, I would appreciate your guidance.
Thank you!

Hi Developer Community,
I'm encountering persistent code signing failures on macOS Sonoma 15.3 with a valid Developer ID Application certificate. The error occurs consistently across multiple certificate regenerations and various troubleshooting approaches.
Environment
macOS Version: Sonoma 15.3
Developer Account Type: Developer ID
Certificate Type: Developer ID Application
Certificate Details:
Developer ID Application certificate valid until 2027
Using SHA-256 with RSA Encryption
Certificate shows as valid in Keychain Access with associated private key
Error Message
Warning: unable to build chain to self-signed root for signer "Developer ID Application: [my certificate]"
[filename]: errSecInternalComponent
Steps to Reproduce
Install certificate chain in order:
Apple Root CA (System keychain)
Apple WWDR CA (System keychain)
Developer ID CA (System keychain)
Developer ID Application certificate (Login keychain)
Verify certificate installation:
security find-identity -v -p codesigning
Result shows valid identity.
Attempt code signing with any binary:
codesign -s "Developer ID Application: [my certificate]" -f --timestamp --options runtime [filename]
Results in errSecInternalComponent error
Troubleshooting Already Attempted
Regenerated Developer ID Application certificate multiple times from Developer Portal
Completely removed and reinstalled entire certificate chain
Verified trust settings on all certificates (set to "Always Trust" for code signing)
Tried multiple codesign command variations including --no-strict flag
Verified keychain integrity
Installed latest Apple CA certificates from apple.com/certificateauthority
Verified certificate chain is properly recognized by security verify-cert
Additional Information
All certificates show as valid in Keychain Access
Private key is properly associated with Developer ID Application certificate
Trust settings are correctly configured for all certificates in the chain
Problem persists after clean certificate installations
Error occurs with any binary I try to sign
Has anyone else encountered this issue on Sonoma 15.3? Any suggestions for resolving this system-level certificate trust chain issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,
I am doing my app playground, when I change the development team or try to clear it, this bug happend? So I wonder do I have to remove it when I submit my work or just leave it there.
Signing for "myapp" requires a development team. Select a development team in the Signing & Capabilities editor.

I have a pass type id that expired.
I created a CSR in keychain access on my Mac.
I uploaded the CSR and generated a new cert.
I downloaded the new cert and imported into keychain access.
I don't see the associated private key and I cannot export a .p12 certificate.
It's possible I started with the wrong key to generate the CSR or maybe I inadvertently deleted key while trying to locate the cert after importing. I'm not sure how to determine which.
I do still have the private key from the cert that expired. But, I cannot figure out how to sign a cert again, my only option now is download.
I've been searching the forum and while there may be an answer, I may just be looking for the wrong thing.
I could use some help if anybody would be so kind.

I am trying to build/deploy app to my phone however I get this message:
"provisioning profile doesn't include the currently selected device"
My developer account is pretty old one and used to be one the paid-version one. My understanding is that I should be able to deploy apps using free account but I don't see where I can add or delete devices....stuck in the loop over here! :-)
I've created support request via email but I don't know if that is being worked or not...four days since I put it in. I suppose my other options are new apple-id or pay $99 and hope apple pays attention then?
Any other suggestions?
Hey everyone,
I was granted access to Family Controls (Distribution) for my main App ID
The entitlement is visible and enabled in the App ID configuration. I’ve successfully created and used a provisioning profile that injects com.apple.developer.family-controls for the main app. ✅
However, the issue is with an extension target under the same parent App ID and all others
Despite enabling the Family Controls (Development) capability in this extension’s App ID config, every new provisioning profile I generate for the extension fails to include the entitlement.
I’ve confirmed this by:
• Dumping the .mobileprovision with security cms -D → no sign of com.apple.developer.family-controls
• Recreating the profile multiple times (Development and Distribution)
• Ensuring the entitlement is toggled on in the portal
• Validating the parent app profile does include it
⸻
❗Question:
Is there a known issue where Family Controls doesn’t get injected into extension App IDs even after team approval?
Or is there an extra step I need to take to get this entitlement injected properly into provisioning profiles for app extensions?
Hi, I have some doubts about certificates expiration given this "new" requirement around signing for some common third party SDKs:
https://developer.apple.com/support/third-party-SDK-requirements/
Use case:
I build an SDK that will be distributed as an XCFramework and will be used in AppStore apps from different people.
My SDK internally uses some other third party libraries that are integrated as binaries
Let's assume some of those third party libraries are from the list above and therefore seem to be required to be signed.
I distribute my SDK with all in order (third party SDKs from that list with valid signatures)
People using my SDK over the time provide an update to their apps on the AppStore but by then some of the third party libraries of my SDK has an expired certificate.
What would happen?
People using my SDK won't have any issues as far as my SDK has a valid signature (despite third party libraries from the list have expired signatures)
People using my SDK will get a warning about it but still will be able to submit to the AppStore. In that case, would AppStore Review process decline the update?
People using my SDK will get an error, not being able to submit to the AppStore and will require me an update version of the SDK with those third party libraries re-signed.
My understanding is that all would work as far as my SDK has a valid signature (after all is the one taking responsibility of the code inside), independently of what happens with the signature of those libraries themselves, am I correct?.

We have NFC capabilties enabled for our app ID - com.uob.mightyvn but our minimum deployment target is 15.0. We do not have an option deselect PACE from provisioning profile. Hence, the validation is failed for IPA.
Invalid entitlement for core nfc framework. The sdk version '18.2' and min OS version '15.0' are not compatible for the entitlement 'com.apple.developer.nfc.readersession.formats' because 'NDEF is disallowed'

Hello, we are currently encountering a similar issue. We need to inject our capabilities into a third-party app by re-signing it (not a full re-signing process—just requiring the provisioning profile and certificate to match). However, this seems to affect the functionality of universal links. We've found that this issue only occurs on iOS 18.
We noticed that when re-signing the app, the entitlements related to associated domains are changed to a wildcard:
[Key] com.apple.developer.associated-domains
[Value]
[Array]
[String] *
However, this doesn’t cause any issues on iOS 17.
Through further testing, we discovered that in order for universal links to work properly, we need to restore the original value of com.apple.developer.associated-domains and use a provisioning profile that matches the app's bundle ID. This means our previous re-signing approach using a certificate and provisioning profile from another bundle will no longer work.
We’d like to ask: is this a new restriction introduced in iOS 18? If we manually restore the original com.apple.developer.associated-domains entitlement and use a provisioning profile that matches the app’s bundle ID, will universal links function correctly going forward?
