Trying to distribute app to Apple Store
I created an MadOS app with xcode 16.5 with a developer id certificate. I've been trying to install a distribution certificate for over a week with several co-workers. I can add a distribution certificate to my key chain, and created a provisioning profile. I've tried every combination but none work. I put xcode in automatic signing but can only see my developer id, if I put it in manual with and without a provisioning profile but if I give the app binary, other users can't run the app because the certificate isn't working. I need support to work with me to look the developer portal and my system to figure this out.

Provisioning Profile, Automatic Sign In Failures
Hello, I'm working in Xcode Version 16.4. I have not been able to sign in without errors. I've paid for the dev account. I've created certificates. Downloaded and uploaded CSRs. Use background mode, not used background mode. Nothing seems to work. Thank you for looking into this! Hopefully you can point me in the right direction or find a solution. Attached screenshots with errors.

Broadcast-Upload Entitlement
Hi, I am developing an iOS app that includes a ReplayKit Broadcast Upload Extension which requires the com.apple.developer.broadcast-upload entitlement. The app is intended for internal development and testing on my own devices and is not yet distributed on the App Store. Even after setting com.apple.developer.broadcast-upload=true in my .entitlements file, and linking it in Build Settings > Code Signing Entitlements; my downloaded provisional profile still did not contain the broadcast-upload entitlement. May I know if I need explicit Apple's approval for adding the broadcast-upload entitlement; even if it's just for testing on my own devices? Thanks.

The specified iOS provisioning profile '' could not be found.
I have developed multiple applications in the past using windows Visual studio 2022 and have never had any issues during development. However this time I am receiving the same error The specified iOS provisioning profile '{profile}' could not be found. Please enable Automatic Provisioning from the iOS Bundle Signing page. Everytime I try to deploy even though I can see that all the appropriate entries are in my apple developer portal, and I can see the profiles have been automatically downloaded to my computer. (The App identifier also matches the one establisehd in the apple developer portal and is linked to the profile). The only thing I can think of, is that my renewal of my developer account got rejected by my bank at first, but on another attempt (about 2 weeks ago) it all went through fine.

App Sandbox & Missing Symbols for Nested PyInstaller App Bundle
Hi Developers, I'm encountering persistent validation errors in Xcode 16.3 (16E140) on macOS 15.4.1 (24E263) with M1 when archiving and distributing a macOS app (Developer ID signing + notarization). App Structure: A native Swift/Obj-C wrapper app that launches a nested .app inside its Resources. The nested app is built with PyInstaller and includes: A Python core Custom C++ binaries Many bundled .so libraries (e.g., from OpenCV, PyQt/PySide) Issues During Validation: App Sandbox Not Enabled Error: App Sandbox missing for NestedApp.app/Contents/MacOS/NestedExecutable. Question: For Developer ID (not App Store), is sandboxing strictly required for nested PyInstaller apps? If the wrapper is sandboxed, must the nested app be as well? Given the PyInstaller app's nature (requiring broad system access), how should entitlements be managed? Upload Symbols Failed Errors for missing .dSYM files for: The nested app’s executable Custom C++ binaries .so files (OpenCV, PyQt, etc.) These are either third-party or built without DWARF data, making .dSYM generation impractical post-build. Question: Are these symbol errors critical for Developer ID notarization (not App Store)? Can notarization succeed despite them? Is lack of symbol upload a known limitation with PyInstaller apps? Any best practices?

Apple ID, Dev Prog Team ID, and provisioning profiles
I was working in Xcode with a free personal Team ID. I upgraded to the Dev Program and now have a paid Team ID. I used the same Apple ID for both. The paid Team ID shows up in developer.apple.com as associated with my Apple ID. However, Xcode is not using the paid Team ID in signing, it's stuck on my old personal Team ID. In addition, I'm getting provisioning errors (0xe8008015) when we try to run our app on an iPhone. Anyone have any thoughts? I've scoured the forums and ChatGPT'd, Cursor'd, etc...all of the suggested fixes do not work. This almost seems like Apple needs to make my Apple ID associated with the paid Team ID or something, to start. Thanks all.

Xcode:Automatic signing failed
In xcode, the signing&capabilities TAB for ios says: Automatic signing failed Xcode failed to provision this target. Please file a bug report at https://feedbackassistant.apple.com and include the Update Signing report from the Report navigator. Team ID suddenly invalid
Hi, overnight I'm getting "HTTP status code: 403. Invalid or inaccessible developer team ID for the provided Apple ID. Ensure the Team ID is correct and that you are a member of that team." in my pipeline running notarytool store-credentials. I'm getting --apple-id, --team-id and --password from CI variables. Double checked the values (even though they shouldn't change). Tried a new app specific password I did not change anything to cause this and my apple developer account is active. Really scratching my head what's going on here. Some assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Provisioning profile missing com.apple.developer.background-modes entitlement, even with Background Modes enabled in Xcode
Hello, I’m having trouble enabling Background Location updates on my iOS app. Xcode: 26.0 beta Team: Individual Developer Program (paid, activated recently) Device: iPhone (physical device, registered and provisioned) Problem When building to device, I get the error: Provisioning profile "iOS Team Provisioning Profile: com.mybundle.id" doesn't include the com.apple.developer.background-modes entitlement. Automatic signing failed. On the simulator the build succeeds, but on device the signing fails unless I remove the background-modes entitlement from .entitlements. What I tried Enabled Background Modes → Location updates in Signing & Capabilities (UI only). Info.plist contains UIBackgroundModes = location and the required NSLocation…UsageDescription keys. Cleaned Derived Data, removed cached provisioning profiles (~/Library/Developer/Xcode/UserData/Provisioning Profiles). Changed Bundle Identifier to force regeneration of provisioning profiles. Deleted and recreated provisioning profiles from Xcode. Tried both with and without manual .entitlements edits. Current status Provisioning profile shows only App Groups, In-App Purchase, Push Notifications. Entitlements section in the downloaded profile is missing com.apple.developer.background-modes. As a result, background location cannot be enabled on device. Question Is this a known issue with Xcode 16/26 beta or with Individual Developer accounts? How can I get com.apple.developer.background-modes included in my provisioning profile so that location tracking continues while the screen is locked? Thank you.

codesign Failure with errSecInternalComponent Error
I am experiencing a persistent issue when trying to sign my application, PhotoKiosk.app, using codesign. The process consistently fails with the error errSecInternalComponent, and my troubleshooting indicates the problem is with how the system accesses or validates my certificate's trust chain, rather than the certificate itself. Error Details and Configuration: codesign command executed: codesign --force --verbose --options=runtime --entitlements /Users/sergiomordente/Documents/ProjetosPhotocolor/PhotoKiosk-4M/entitlements.plist --sign "Developer ID Application: Sérgio Mordente (G75SJ6S9NC)" /Users/sergiomordente/Documents/ProjetosPhotocolor/PhotoKiosk-4M/dist/PhotoKiosk.app Error message received: Warning: unable to build chain to self-signed root for signer "(null)" /Users/sergiomordente/Documents/ProjetosPhotocolor/PhotoKiosk-4M/dist/PhotoKiosk.app: errSecInternalComponent Diagnostic Tests and Verifications Performed: Code Signing Identity Validation: I ran the command security find-identity -v -p codesigning, which successfully confirmed the presence and validity of my certificate in the Keychain. The command output correctly lists my identity: D8FB11D4C14FEC9BF17E699E833B23980AF7E64F "Developer ID Application: Sérgio Mordente (G75SJ6S9NC)" This suggests that the certificate and its associated private key are present and functional for the system. Keychain Certificate Verification: The "Apple Root CA - G3 Root" certificate is present in the System Roots keychain. The "Apple Worldwide Developer Relations Certification Authority (G6)" certificate is present and shown as valid. The trust setting for my "Developer ID Application" certificate is set to "Use System Defaults". Attempted Certificate Export via security: To further diagnose the problem, I attempted to export the certificate using the security find-certificate command with the exact name of my identity. Command executed (using double quotes): security find-certificate -c -p "Developer ID Application: Sérgio Mordente (G75SJ6S9NC)" > mycert.pem Error message: security: SecKeychainSearchCopyNext: The specified item could not be found in the keychain. The same error occurred when I tried with single quotes. This result is contradictory to the output of find-identity, which successfully located the certificate. This suggests an internal inconsistency in the Keychain database, where the certificate is recognized as a valid signing identity but cannot be located via a simple certificate search. Additional Troubleshooting Attempts: I have already recreated the "Developer ID Application" certificate 4 times (I am at the limit of 5), and the issue persists with all of them. The application has been rebuilt, and the codesign command was run on a clean binary. Conclusion: The problem appears to be an internal macOS failure to build the trust chain for the certificate, as indicated by the errSecInternalComponent error. Although the certificate is present and recognized as a valid signing identity by find-identity, the codesign tool cannot complete the signature. The failure to find the certificate with find-certificate further supports the suspicion of an inconsistency within the keychain system that goes beyond a simple certificate configuration issue. I would appreciate any guidance on how to resolve this, especially given that I am at my developer certificate limit and cannot simply generate a new one.

Migrating Identifier from non-team prefix within single account
Hello, In our Account we have an iOS app with an explicit identifier "ABC123.com.some.app" that is using non-team prefix which is DEF456. It has also explicit identifiers for Widgets bundle and Notification Service. Due to non-team prefix, it can't access e.g. shared keychain and data put there by our other apps. Since we are working on features that require these capabilities, we would like to update the app identifier, so it is prefixed with our team id DEF456. Initially, we thought that the process would require steps like: Create new app, team-prefixed identifier(s) for app and all things that need them Recreate the provisioning profiles with new App Identifier Roll out the app using with new profiles via App Store but when trying to create the new identifier with com.some.app and team id prefix DEF456 we are getting following error: An App ID with Identifier com.some.app is not available. Please enter a different string. Can anybody advise us how to correctly perform such change and what steps are required from our end? We would like to keep our existing App Store entry, ratings and smoothly switch users. We are aware that this kind of migration results in loss of Keychain access. Thanks for any advice on that!

Previously verified apps failing to verify online with gatekeeper
I have an application that I have been signing, notarizing and distributing to beta testers for a year with no issues, note: I have never got stapling to work I always get a error 65 in the process. But up until yesterday that hasn't been an issue and online verification has always worked. Yesterday morning around 9am online gatekeeper verification has been failing with: APP not opened, apple cannot verify app is free of malware. etc this keeps happening, with every build I try. redownloading previously successful builds show the same behavior I know I can allow in privacy and security, but heading towards launch I dont want to have to tell users to do that. has there been a change in how gatekeeper works or issues with the service? any help with this or getting stapling working would be very appreciated!

TestFlight warning when uploading macOS app via Transporter
I'm attempting to upload an updated version of our macOS app for distribution via the App Store. We've done this without issue before, but I am now receiving a warning when I upload the app via Transporter: "Cannot be used with TestFlight because the signature for the bundle at “AXON Studio.app” is missing an application identifier but has an application identifier in the provisioning profile for the bundle. Bundles with application identifiers in the provisioning profile are expected to have the same identifier signed into the bundle in order to be eligible for TestFlight." (90886) I just recently started seeing this warning when I upload our application via Transporter. Before this warning started happening, I was using the exact same process and scripts to build/package/codesign our application. NOTE: we are not using Xcode to build our application, so we can't take advantage of any codesigning/packaging automation provided by Xcode (the app is written in C#/.NET 6.0), so we are doing all build/package/codesign steps using the appropriate macOS command line utilities. Also, I have verified that the app bundle and its contents have valid signatures. Does anyone have any idea what may have changed to cause this warning, or how I might go about determining the root cause so I can fix it?

compile code required signing from unexisting user
Hi, This is my first time developing for iPhone, and I believe I have encountered an unusual edge case related to user management. Background: I work at a very small company currently in the proof-of-concept stage of building an iOS app. We created an Apple account under the company name: Green Vibe, using our corporate email. Initially, I developed the app under the free account on my local iPhone, and everything worked smoothly. When NFC functionality became necessary, we upgraded to a paid Apple Developer account. At that point, I enrolled as a developer under my personal name (Or Itach) while logged in with the Green Vibe Apple account. I want to emphasize that only one Apple account was created — the Green Vibe account. The Issue: When attempting to add NFC, I was able to create the required certificate under the name Or Itach. However, when compiling the project, Xcode prompts me to enter the login password for the user Or Itach. This is problematic because there is no Apple ID associated with that name — only the Apple Developer enrollment under Green Vibe exists. Request: Could you please advise on the proper way to resolve this situation? Specifically: Should the developer enrollment be tied directly to the Green Vibe account rather than to an individual name? How can I correctly configure the account so that Xcode no longer requires a nonexistent Apple ID password? Thank you very much for your support and clarification.

App Groups Entitlement Mismatch Between Provisioning Profile and Xcode Requirements for iOS App Extension
Hello Apple Developer Community, I'm experiencing a persistent issue with App Groups configuration for an iOS app extension that I can't resolve despite trying multiple approaches. I hope someone can help identify what I'm missing. Problem Description I'm getting this error when trying to build my iOS App Extension: Provisioning profile "iOS Team Provisioning Profile: com.idlrapp.Spleeft.SpleeftDataSaver" doesn't include the com.apple.developer.app-groups entitlement. My Setup Main App Bundle ID: com.idlrapp.Spleeft Extension Bundle ID: com.idlrapp.Spleeft.SpleeftDataSaver App Group ID: group.com.idlrapp.spleeft.shared Extension Type: Action Extension (Share Sheet) What I've Verified App Group Creation ✅ Created App Group group.com.idlrapp.spleeft.shared in Apple Developer Portal ✅ App Group shows as "Active" in the portal App ID Configuration ✅ Both App IDs (com.idlrapp.Spleeft and com.idlrapp.Spleeft.SpleeftDataSaver) have "App Groups" capability enabled ✅ Both App IDs are configured with the same App Group: group.com.idlrapp.spleeft.shared Entitlements Files Main App (Spleeft.entitlements): Extension (SpleeftDataSaver.entitlements): Xcode Configuration ✅ Both targets use "Automatically manage signing" ✅ Same Apple Developer Team selected for both ✅ App Groups capability shows correctly in Signing & Capabilities for both targets The Issue When I examine the downloaded .mobileprovision file, I can see it contains: However, Xcode expects to find: What I've Tried Multiple regenerations of provisioning profiles: Deleted all local provisioning profiles Toggled "Automatically manage signing" off/on Downloaded manual profiles from Developer Portal Verified App Group configuration: Double-checked App Group exists and is active Confirmed both App IDs have App Groups capability enabled Verified App Group assignment in both App IDs Entitlements cleanup: Ensured consistent App Group IDs across all files Removed duplicate/conflicting entries Clean builds and cache clearing: Product → Clean Build Folder Derived Data deletion Xcode restart Key Observation The provisioning profile contains com.apple.security.application-groups (which appears to be macOS-style) but Xcode expects com.apple.developer.app-groups (iOS-style) for the App Extension. The main app builds fine, but the extension consistently fails with this entitlement mismatch. Questions Is there a known issue with App Groups entitlement generation for iOS App Extensions? Should the provisioning profile contain com.apple.developer.app-groups instead of com.apple.security.application-groups? Is there a way to force regeneration of provisioning profiles with the correct entitlements? Are there additional steps required for App Extensions that differ from main apps? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. This is blocking our App Extension development and we've exhausted our troubleshooting options. Environment: Xcode: [Tu versión de Xcode] iOS Deployment Target: [Tu target] Developer Account: [Paid/Individual/Team] Thank you for your time and assistance.

StoreKit entitlement not included in provisioning profiles despite In-App Purchase enabled
I’m running into an issue where the com.apple.developer.storekit entitlement is not being included in provisioning profiles, even though my App ID is properly configured for In-App Purchase. Entitlements file: explicitly includes <key>com.apple.developer.storekit</key> <true/> Capability: In-App Purchase is enabled in the Apple Developer Portal and shows as “Enabled.” What I’ve tried: Automatic signing in Xcode → profiles generated, but missing com.apple.developer.storekit Manual signing → deleted and recreated provisioning profiles multiple times; entitlement still missing. Waited several hours for possible propagation. Verified that my in-app purchase products are set up correctly. Error message: Provisioning profile "iOS Team Provisioning Profile: zu.inniu" doesn't include the com.apple.developer.storekit entitlement Question: Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a step I might be missing to get StoreKit entitlements included in provisioning profiles, or could this be a backend issue that needs escalation through Apple DTS? This is blocking me from building my app for physical devices, so any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

CI/CD Workflow Mobile Provisioning Profile Issues xCode 16.4
Hello, when building and signing my application in a Github actions workflow, I am facing an issue on the latest version of xCode (16.4). This issue is resolved by downgrading to 16.3. My CI/CD pipeline is running headless and installing provisioning profile to ~/Library/MobileDevice/Provisioning Profiles.
