Very strange behavoir of Safari.app, Notes.app on MacBook Pro
Is there a way to check whether third-party code can be inserted into parts of the ARM CPU architecture from outside? I have the paranoid impression that my MacBook Pro, M2 processor is being manipulated from outside. For example: Safari, when opened, displays pages scaled down without my conscious intervention, when clicked on the original size it scales back to normal for a short time and then implodes again; I use the navigation bar on the left excessively, it is my most important tool in Safari, today it was impossible to insert a link using drag & drop, the bar scrolls up or down very quickly; a behavior that I only know from Intel processors. For example, notes, I encrypted an important note, no problem even though photos and links are inserted, yesterday I could no longer open the note, neither on the MacBook Pro nor on the iPhone. When opening the notes app in the terminal on the MacBook Pro, an EXEC_CRASH report was generated. I have a terrible suspicion that the Apple branch in Munich is tampering with the devices and software of users in Germany. Sorry, I'm a big fan of Apple and its products, but this is very spooky. I just wanted to share my distrust with you!

Messages in iOS 18
The rearrangemnet of the emoji menu is driving me crazy. I never use Memojis or the Apple animal emojis and now they're all squished together at the front of the emoji keyboard and it's difficult to select what I want, since the menu is so small. I switch between language and emoji keyboards frequently and this is extremely frustrating.

CarPlay music sound output from iPhone after enabled Enhanced Siri
With CarPlay communication plugin R18.1, I followed these steps to integrate Enhance siri, the music sound was output from carplay and there is no option for output to Car. ============================================ Enhanced Siri Declare supported audioFormats for the AuxIn and AuxOut streams Since the AuxIn and AuxOut streams for Siri do not have to be both active at the same time, the accessory must claim audio formats support for AuxIn Audio and AuxOut audio independently. The audio formats for each stream can differ from each other (48KHz for AuxOut and 16KHz for AuxIn). The new audio types represent these new streams - AuxIn/speechRecognition & AuxOut/speechRecognition. Check if connected device supports the feature AirPlayReceiverSessionHasFeatureEnhancedSiri() Claim support in the Setup Response message if device supports the feature Add kAirPlayKeyAccessoryEnabledFeature_EnhancedSiri key through the AirPlayReceiverServer delegate AirPlayReceiverServerCopyProperty_f function for the kAirPlayKey_AccessoryEnabledFeatures key. Helper function: CFArrayAppendValue() Add Enhanced Siri parameters dictionary in the INFO message Add dictionary through the AirPlayReceiverServer delegate AirPlayReceiverServerCopyProperty_f function for the kAirPlayKey_EnhancedSiriInfo key. kAirPlayKey_EnhancedSiriInfo dictionary parameters: Voice activation of Siri - kAirPlayKey_EnhancedSiriVoice Current language of voice model - kAirPlayKey_VoiceModelCurrentLanguage Supported languages of voice model - kAirPlayKey_VoiceModelSupportedLanguages Enhanced Button activation of Siri - kAirPlayKey_EnhancedSiriButton Supported zone(s) if any - kAirPlayKey_SupportedSiriTriggerZones Update AudioStream Get state of the AuxIn state by providing an implementation of AudioStreamUpdateState() - Off, local buffering, or streaming to device. Decouple input streams from output streams. AuxIn is an independent input stream only. The property kAudioStreamProperty_Direction will provide the necessary information if the stream is input, output or input & output. Provide a handler for the AirPlayReceiverSessionDelegate setEnhancedSiriParams_f This will provide additional information: Activation type Setting the language of the voice model Invoke the Communication Plugin to start buffering Once the activation type has been specified, the accessory can request the plugin to start buffering using AirPlayReceiverSessionAuxInStart(). Use the new APIs to trigger Siri: AirPlayReceiverSessionRequestSiriActionWithLatency() AirPlayReceiverSessionRequestSiriVoiceActivationWithLatency() AirPlayReceiverSessionRequestSiriVoiceActivationWithSample() Button presses and voice activations should use this new APIs which adds a timestamp of the activation. These APIs allow a choice of a latency or a sample for button and voice activations. If there is a delay between the user pressing the button to notifying the device on the button press, this latency value should represent this time. If the accessory can determine which zone activated, it can provide the zone with the request. Invoke the Communication Plugin to stop buffering You may need to invoke the plugin to stop buffering (AirPlayReceiverSessionAuxInStop()) if exclusive access to the microphone is necessary. Such instances may include but not limited to: Native voice recognition session Telephony Another stream function which uses the microphone starts modesChanged notification can be used to determine if a resource is being used Note, if the session ends, the plugin will automatically stop buffering

System update issue
I upgraded my macOS to 13.7.5 and since then I cannot open Adobe InDesing on my iMac. I contacted Adobe Support to assist with the issue and they couldn't find any solution from their side. Probably the update is not compatible? Is there a way I can solve this issue? Or remove the beta version from my system?

There is no Driver Extensions option to resolve this error.
I have a Logitech Yeti GX microphone, which is working, but i am unable to fully use all its features because of a driver issue. Logitech states the following to resolve "The program Logitech G Hub Driver installer tried to load a new driver extension. To enable this extension, open Systems Settings>General>Login Items & Extensions>Logitech G Hub HID Driver Extension> Toggle on.... that appears to be simple enough... only problem is that Driver Extension doesnt exist as an option for me. Any thoughts as to why not? Thanks for your help.

Apple Relationship Manager (ARM) – A Business CRM for Calls & Messages
Apple has a massive opportunity to improve iOS for business users with ARM (Apple Relationship Manager)—a built-in tool that allows professionals to log, summarize, and integrate calls & messages into CRM workflows. Many professionals (salespeople, executives, entrepreneurs) use iPhones for business, but there’s no easy way to track conversations, categorize interactions, or integrate messages with a CRM. ARM would solve this by allowing: ✅ AI-powered call summaries (users get a suggested summary after each call, which can be reviewed and tagged). ✅ iMessage/SMS tagging (users can hold down messages to assign a sentiment or create a follow-up). ✅ CRM Integration (ARM logs could sync with HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.). How ARM Would Work: • Users could tap an “ARM Accept” (green accept button with the ARM logo instead of white phone symbol) button before a call to activate AI-powered summarization. • After the call, users would review/edit the summary and log a sentiment (e.g., “Needs Follow-Up”). • In iMessage, users could long-press messages to summarize conversations and tag key interactions for both blue and green messages. • ARM would keep everything on-device, ensuring privacy and security. Since Apple Intelligence is already introducing AI-powered features, ARM could make iPhones the ultimate business communication tool while keeping everything private and secure. If you also want Apple to build this, submit feedback at Apple Feedback and comment here to show support!

iOS 18.3 (22D5040d) Beta internet issues
I have been using US Cellular without any issues, and my previous device worked seamlessly with a stable connection. However, after updating to iOS 18.3 (22D5040d), I have been experiencing significant connectivity problems. In most locations, I have no internet access, and when I do, the speeds are extremely slow, typically around 2 Mbps at best.

Passwords app stopped working with latest update?
I updated my Macbook Pro this week, macOS Sequoia 15.3.2 and now the Password app isn't working. When I log into my regularly saved sites, and I click user name, the Password app login modal pops up, but when I click it, NOTHING happens. If I manually type in my user name (which was unnecessary prior to the recent update), then SOMETIMES I get the fingerprint, but most times I don't. I am using the Chrome browser. I have attached a screenshot of the typical issue I experience.

Keys are missing in App Store Server API
For the subscription API, we’re using the Get All Subscription Statuses API to replace the deprecated verifyReceipt method. To determine if a user has canceled their subscription, we’re using the expirationIntent key from JWSRenewalInfo data. However, we’ve noticed that we sometimes receive this key and other times not. We’re also facing an issue with the offertype key. We use this key to determine if a user is currently in the introductory offer, the promotion offer, or neither. To obtain this key, we’re using JWSTransaction, but we occasionally receive it and other times not. Note: These issues are being tested in the sandbox environment. Thank you.

Troubleshooting Video Loading Issues on iOS: Slow Performance Over Mobile Data but Fast on Wi-Fi
Hello, We are developing a social media application that allows users to share and view content in the form of images and videos. The app is built with Angular and Ionic, and we use Capacitor to integrate native functionalities. Currently, we are experiencing an issue with content loading on iOS devices. Specifically, when the iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi, videos load quickly and play smoothly. However, when using mobile data, videos take a long time to load or, in some cases, do not load at all. We are trying to identify the cause of the issue and determine whether it could be related to Xcode configuration or any system restrictions. Some potential reasons we have considered include: iOS Mobile Data Usage Restrictions iOS may limit mobile data usage for large downloads or streaming content if the app does not have the proper permissions. In Settings > Mobile Data, users can restrict data usage for specific apps. App Transport Security (ATS) Configuration Xcode and iOS enforce strict security policies for network connections through App Transport Security (ATS). If the API serving the videos uses HTTP instead of HTTPS or has restrictive headers, this could affect loading over mobile networks. Xcode Network Usage Settings Xcode allows configurations related to network access. There might be a setting limiting access to mobile networks when the device is not on Wi-Fi. Video Quality and Adaptability Differences If videos are not optimized for mobile networks (e.g., high-quality formats without adaptive versions), loading times could be significantly longer. Implementing HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) could improve playback on slower networks. Request Timeout Issues If video loading requests have a short timeout, slower mobile network connections might exceed this limit, causing the request to fail. Compression and Caching It is essential to check if videos are properly compressed and if caching is implemented to improve performance on mobile networks. Given this situation, we would like to know what Xcode settings might be affecting video loading performance on mobile data and how we can adjust them to enhance the user experience.

Prevent iOS "Use Mobile Data" Prompt When Connected to Wi-Fi Without Internet in Flutter
I am developing a flutter app that connects the app to the boat VCU through Wi-Fi. In the iOS version of the mobile app, when the device connects to a Wi-Fi network, iOS assumes that all network traffic should route through Wi-Fi. As the connected Wi-Fi network has no internet access, iOS prompts the user with the options: "Use Mobile Data" or "Keep Trying Wi-Fi." If the user selects "Keep Trying Wi-Fi," mobile data will not be used by other apps on the phone. If the user selects "Use Mobile Data," the app switches to mobile data while remaining connected to the Wi-Fi network (VCU) without any issues. The issue is we need to find a way to prevent showing that prompt and instead handle this through code. After connecting to VCU, the mobile network is available for a few second but then it switches to wifi and no internet! I checked all the online documentation but there is not any solution for it. So, I need to stay connect to vcc and other apps use mobile data. I tried WiFiForIoTPlugin.forceWifiUsage(false); but didn't work. I tried adding delay that also didn't work. This is the function in my code that handles connecting to Wi-fI: Future connectToWifi() async { try { if (Platform.isAndroid) { isConnected = await WiFiForIoTPlugin.connect( _vesselData['ssid'], password: _vesselData['passphrase'], security: NetworkSecurity.WPA, // Enable Internet access withInternet: false, isHidden: true, timeoutInSeconds: 10, joinOnce: true, ); // Force Android to treat Wi-Fi as the primary network using await WiFiForIoTPlugin.forceWifiUsage(true); } else if (Platform.isIOS){ isConnected = await WiFiForIoTPlugin.connect( _vesselData['ssid'], password: _vesselData['passphrase'], security: NetworkSecurity.WPA, isHidden: true, timeoutInSeconds: 10, // Ensures the connection remains persistent, preventing the system from disconnecting the device. joinOnce: false, ); } if (isConnected) { log("Connected to ${_vesselData['ssid']}"); streamData(); } else { log("Failed to connect to ${_vesselData['ssid']}"); } } catch (e) { log("Error: $e"); } } I use :Device Model: iPhone 12 Pro Max iOS Version: iOS 18.3.1 Xcode Version: Xcode 16.2 Mac Version: macOS Sonoma 14.3

I can't disableScreen Sharing session initiated by somebody else
Another developer tried to start a screen-sharing session with me on my M1 MacBook Air this morning (Sequoia 15.3). He reported however that another session was already under way on my machine. I looked in System Settings and found that the "Screen Sharing" setting was grayed out, with the notation that "This service is currently being controlled by the Remote Management service". Access to the service is disabled however, and I have no way of turning it off. It's possible that the person who tried to help me got this session started, and that it then got aborted in some irregular way, but he see no indication of that and says there is no connection between us as seen from his end. This makes me nervous security-wise. Is there some way I can turn this off and ensure that I am not being screen-shared against my will, as it were? TIA, Howard

3rd party camera hardware with API
I hope questions about third party APIs are allowed. If not I guess a delete is in order. That said.... I am looking to do an app for dog owners, trainers and enterprises such as shelters & boarding, and a couple of features require access to one or more cameras in real time. So I have been looking for hardware that provides an API and coming up empty. So far as I can tell none of the major pet cam companies, like Furbo, Petcube or Eufy. Even security cameras like the TP-Link Tapo doesn't seem to. Am I just failing epically in my search formulation, or are all these companies playing the printer game and selling the camera cheap and making all their money in the monthly subscription to actually be able to use the hardware, and keeping that to themselves? And, can anyone recommend decent to good third party hardware that does provide a Swift API? Or am I better off just targeting the use of iPhone & iPad and Mac cameras? It's not ideal, but it's better than nothing.
