Running tests on multiple simulators and local mock servers
Hello, I have a question about running tests on multiple simulators. Currently, my company has a WDIO+Appium test suite with XCUITEST driver that runs on a single simulator through a mockttp proxy (we are intercepting and mocking some of the responses from our APIs and pass through the rest). In order to route the traffic we are currently using 'networksetup -setsecurewebproxy '. Everything works as expected. With growing number of tests we'd like to scale number of simulators on a single host to 3-5. We have a working setup but the problem are system-wide proxy settings routing traffic from multiple simulators, which we can't distinguish by UDID or any other means, we know of. We can spin multiple mock servers on the same machine but we are struggling to find the way to route the traffic on a simulator basis. In the end, both options are viable: 1 mock server running for multiple simulators N number of mock servers for N number of simulators Has anyone had the same/similar problem? How to approach this? We are currently running on Sequoia OSX and platform version 18.6. Thanks!

App crashes on start in TestFlight
Hi, I have a .NET MAUI app running on .NET 9. When I test locally in debug or release mode it works perfectly fine, but when testing from TestFlight it crashes almost immediately every time. I have sent the crash report to TestFlight and produced the symbolicated.crash file (attached), but I'm not sure it's helpful for understanding how to fix the issue. If anyone can help me understand what the issue might be and any possible fixes it'd be very much appreciated. I'm developing using Visual Studio 2022 paired to my Mac. I have distributed previously without issue, but now can't seem to, even after reverting recent code. net9.0-ios 15.0 symbolicated.crash

Controlling UIDesignRequiresCompatibility via Remote Config
Hello, I am currently in the process of gradually adding support for LiquidGlass to my app. The transition is taking place incrementally, i.e., new screens and minor features are gradually being adapted to the new design and already deployed. Currently, the old design is still active via the feature flag UIDesignRequiresCompatibility, as the existing UI should remain locked for the public app store version until the transition is complete. My challenge is as follows: I would like to work with the new LiquidGlass design during development without having to manually change the UIDesignRequiresCompatibility flag with each deployment. Ideally, I am looking for a solution where: • the new design is only activated for me (e.g., specific account or specific devices) • the old design remains active for all other users • the App Store version can be delivered unchanged So my question is: Is it possible to control UIDesignRequiresCompatibility via remote config or server-side logic in order to activate the new design specifically for certain users or devices? I have observed similar behavior on WhatsApp—two devices with the same app version, but only one shows the new design. This suggests server-side or remote config-based control. Do you have any experience or recommendations on how to implement something like this cleanly? Kind regards Heinz

Replace Apple Clang with Vanilla Clang, what can go wrong?
We are developing a cross platform c++ application. We also use some objective-c (no swift) and specific Apple frameworks like AVFoundation, CoreML in the MacOs version of our software. We use Apple Clang as compiler when building for MacOs. As our code is primarily c++ we would like to use the latest and greatest c++ 20 features. So we are looking into using vanilla clang instead, the builds with vanilla clang seem to work fine, however our concern is that we might have overlooked possible issues that could arise. So our question is whether there are specific things we need to address when switching compilers, are there things that we need to be aware of? In the end we just want to know if switching compilers won't cause problems we can't oversee. So we would like to know if others took the same steps and what your thoughts/experiences are regarding this?

Questions about macOS App Store update package generation and optimization
Hello, According to documentation, the App Store does not re-download the entire app when updating, but instead generates an update package containing only the changed content compared to the previous version. I’d like to clarify the following points: 1. Granularity of file changes If only part of a large file changes, does the update package include the entire file, or does it patch only the modified portions within that file? 2. Guideline on separating files The documentation recommends separating files that are likely to change from those that are not. How should this be interpreted in practice? 3. Verifying the diff result Is there a way for developers to check the actual diff result of the update package generated by the App Store without submitting the app? Is there a diff command tool or comparison method closer to the actual App Store update process? 4. Estimating update size during development For apps with large-scale resources, minimizing update size is critical. Are there any tools or best practices to estimate the size of the update package before submitting to the App Store? Any clarification or reference materials would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Use of non-public or deprecated APIs
Hello, "This issue is blocking App store approval" I have tried pushing my application to Appstore. However it has been rejected on the following ground: _"As we discussed, the app uses or references the following non-public or deprecated APIs: Frameworks/CommonLibrary.framework/CommonLibrary Symbols: • _SecCertificateIsValid The use of non-public or deprecated APIs is not permitted, as they can lead to a poor user experience should these APIs change and are otherwise not supported on Apple platforms."_ I have scanned the app using "strings" tool & "otool -ov" tool. But they have come out clean. No Non-public or deprecated APIs detected. Please advise which tool can be used to scan the CL to locate where the deprecated API or non-public API lies and also how to rectify the same. Thanks Saikat Bakshi.

[REQUEST] for a tool/method/guidance how to create privacy manifest (PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy) when you don't have Xcode/mac
Hello, PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy Is primordial and without it the app is rejected from the Store I believe. All 5 ressources I had found related to it, mention XCODE, or explain how to add the code to langages that I don't use (Switf i think?) etc. I am building the app thought CI/CD, so prior to building it the app does not have privacy manifest and there is not way to generate it automatically without xcode it seems. My app is written in Flutter prior to becoming an iOS app. I am seeking for a method to do that. Thanks.

Missing Content from my app
Hi there! I am not a coder, but I built an app in ADALO just for in-house use in my company, PetroImaging. The app looked the way I wanted it to in the preview mode in ADALO, but when my app was approved and ready for download in the app store, a lot of content was missing. Many buttons that linked to screens were just gone - even though they were there in the preview and the buttons are formatted correctly in adalo. How can I get my content that I need back on my app so the employees can being using it?

Inconsistency in returning nanoseconds in /bin/date
I am using macOS’s /bin/date command, both in Terminal and via AppleScript (do shell script). I noticed inconsistent behaviour with the %N format specifier for nanoseconds: • On some Macs, date +%s%N returns numeric nanoseconds as expected. • On other Macs, the same command returns a literal N or fails when coerced to a number. • This occurs across different macOS versions and on both Intel and Apple Silicon machines. My understanding is that macOS ships BSD date, which does not officially document %N. I am trying to determine: 1. Is %N in /bin/date officially supported on macOS, and if so, on which versions? 2. If %N is not supported, what is Apple’s recommended, portable method for obtaining sub-second or millisecond timestamps in shell scripts or AppleScript across all macOS versions?

🔥 Xcode 26 RC – visionOS App Icon Created with Icon Composer Appears Empty
App Icon created with Icon Composer is empty for visionOS app We are developing a universal app, and the app’s icon was created using Icon Composer. Xcode 26, RC visionOS 26 and visionOS 2.5 App Icons on macOS, iOS, and iPadOS are correct We have archived the app for macOS and iOS and successfully uploaded it to the App Store. This strongly suggests that the App Icon configuration in our project settings is correct for these platforms. App Icon issue on visionOS However, the visionOS app icon is not working as expected: When testing on the Vision Pro simulator (versions 2.x and 26.0), the app icon appears empty. When archiving and submitting to the App Store, the process fails with the following error: The app’s Info.plist file is missing the CFBundleIcons.CFBundlePrimaryIcon key for the visionOS App Icon. This suggests that the project’s App Icon settings may not be correctly applied for visionOS builds. Request for assistance We are preparing to release our app, one of the first to support Liquid Glass, and would greatly appreciate guidance on how to resolve this issue with the visionOS app icon. Document Type Export / Import in Xcode - Shared via Messages
I’ve created a document type for my app and set it up in the Info Configuration in Xcode. This all works as expected: Implemented with the Transferrable API and ShareLink, I can share an app’s file via the Files app or Notes and then import the file via a Share extension and the fileImport swiftUI api. My question is regarding Messages, specifically. It appears as a ShareLink option and I’m able to send my app’s document type via a message, but I’m unable to open it or share it (internally, with my app), other than being able to forward or delete it. If I copy the file, I can’t access it within my app (it’s still stored in the Messages private bundle) and startAccessingSecurityScopedResource returns false as expected. The message does detect the right icon, so it’s recognizing the custom document type. If my Share Extension, exported document type, and transferable implementation is configured correctly, should I be able to open a file for my app shared via Messages? Is this an allowed action? I get various answers from AI, and I can’t test this in the Simulator on pre-26 devices.
