macOS .chm viewer
For the Linux version of my application which is written in C++ using Qt, I display the CHM format help files with this code: QString helpFile{ QCoreApplication::applicationDirPath() + "/Help/" + tr("DeepSkyStacker Help.chm","IDS_HELPFILE") }; QString program{ "kchmviewer" }; QStringList arguments{ "-token", "com.github.deepskystacker", helpFile }; helpProcess->startDetached(program, arguments); (helpProcess is a pointer to a QProcess object) The -token com.github.deepskystackerpart of that ensures that only a single instance of the viewer is used for any code that uses that invocation. Are there any chm file viewers for macOS that are capable of that sort of trick? The ones I've found on the App Store give minimal information and appear to be very simple minded tools that are not not intended for integration into an application as above. I know that MacPorts offers ports of kchmviewer but I'd prefer not to use either that or HomeBrew ... David

Unstable behavior of xcodebuild -showdestinations
Hi, I am having an issue with xcodebuild -showdestinations command. Steps to reproduce: Create a new iOS application project in Xcode or use an existing one. Navigate to this project in a terminal. Run xcodebuild -project 'your-project-name.xcodeproj' -scheme 'your-scheme' -showdestinations What I expect: All destinations available in the Xcode UI should be listed. What I get: It depends. For new projects, I consistently get only generic platform destinations and my connected physical device. When I run the same command on an older project, I sometimes see all the expected destinations. It seems to be a roughly 50/50 chance between the two outcomes. Is there a way to get consistent results from xcodebuild -showdestinations? What can I do to ensure all destinations are listed reliably? Here is a more detailed log and a screenshot: ❯ xcodebuild -workspace 'WorkoutDiary.xcworkspace' -scheme 'WorkoutDiary' -showdestinations Command line invocation: /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/usr/bin/xcodebuild -workspace WorkoutDiary.xcworkspace -scheme WorkoutDiary -showdestinations User defaults from command line: IDEPackageSupportUseBuiltinSCM = YES 2025-06-17 19:13:50.261 xcodebuild[34753:6177985] DVTDeviceOperation: Encountered a build number "" that is incompatible with DVTBuildVersion. 2025-06-17 19:13:50.342 xcodebuild[34753:6177959] [MT] DVTDeviceOperation: Encountered a build number "" that is incompatible with DVTBuildVersion. On-demand resource exporting?
I'm a newbie to on-demand resources and I feel like I'm missing something very obvious. I've successfully tagged and set up ODR in my Xcode project, but now I want to upload the assets to my own server so I can retrieve them from within the app, and I can't figure out how to export the files I need. I'm following the ODR Guide and I'm stuck at Step #4, after I've selected my archive in the Archives window it says to "Click the Export button", but this is what I see: As shown in the screenshot, there is no export button visible. I have tried different approaches, including distributing to appstore connect, and doing a local development release. The best I've been able to do is find a .assetpack folder inside the archive package through the finder, but uploading that, or the asset.car inside it, just gives me a "cannot parse response" error from the ODR loading code. I've verified I uploaded those to the correct URL. Can anyone walk me through how to save out the file(s) I need, in a form I can just upload to my server? Thanks, Pete

Our developer account is unable to renew through the https://developer.apple.com
Hello, Our developer account is unable to renew through the https://developer.apple.com/account website. The account will expire in 8 days. When clicking the "Renew Membership" button to proceed to the order details page, I filled in the required personal information and electronic invoice details as instructed. However, after clicking the "Continue to Payment Method" button, the website became unresponsive. By checking the console logs, I noticed a 500 error occurred on the website. Since we specifically require an electronic invoice, the Developer app cannot meet our needs. The account is nearing expiration. Could you please assist us by temporarily extending the account's expiration date? Your support would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

iOS beta 26 simulators will not in "Apple could not verify"
Apple could not verify “iPad_Air_M2_26.0_23A5260n_Restore.ipsw” is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy. xCode 26 fails to download simulators. I downloaded from the apple developer site. When I double click I get the above message. I went to the System Settings > GateKeeper, and selected Open Anyway. This poped up a window with a button, Open in xCode-bata. Clicking the button does not appear to do anything. I can not use xcode without simulators.

Unable to Complete Apple Developer Enrollment – No Response After Payment
Developer Tools & ServicesHello, I’m trying to enroll in the Apple Developer Program as an individual, but I’ve run into repeated issues and haven’t received any response or confirmation. Here’s what I’ve tried: I created a new Apple ID with my real name (first and last name). Enabled two-factor authentication. Verified that my billing and shipping addresses are complete. Tried enrolling both from the web and from the Apple Developer app on an iPhone. Used multiple valid credit and debit cards (Visa and Mastercard). Waited over 48 hours for confirmation or email—still nothing. No charges appear on my bank account either. I submitted a support request via the official Developer Support page but haven’t received any reply. I’m located in TUNISIA, and my Apple ID region matches my billing info and card. At this point, I’m unsure what’s going wrong or if my enrollment is blocked. Has anyone else faced this issue? Any advice on how to proceed or get a response from Apple? Thank you in advance. Best regards

Question Regarding Obtaining the MDM Vendor CSR Signing Certificate
Hi, I have a question about obtaining the MDM Vendor CSR Signing Certificate. Is it possible to obtain this certificate with an Apple Developer Program account? From the official documentation below, it seems like it might be possible: https://developer.apple.com/help/account/certificates/mdm-vendor-csr-signing-certificate/ However, I have also seen past forum posts stating that it is only available through the Apple Developer Enterprise Program: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/671716 If anyone has detailed knowledge about this, I would greatly appreciate your guidance.

SwiftMacros Not able to access of main project XCTest File.
I have developed a Swift macro called @CodableInit in the SwiftCodableMacro module, and I’m able to use it successfully in my main project. Here’s an example usage: import SwiftCodableMacro @CodableInit // This is for Codable macros public class ErrorMonitoringWebPlugin { public var identifier: UUID = UUID() // MARK: - Codable required public init(from decoder:Decoder) throws { let values = try decoder.container(keyedBy: CodingKeys.self) identifier = try values.decode(UUID.self, forKey: .identifier) } } However, when I try to write a unit test for the ErrorMonitoringWebPlugin class, I encounter an issue. Here's the test case: func testCodableSubjectIdentifierShouldEqualDecodedSubjectIdentifier() { self.measure { let encoder = JSONEncoder() let data = try? encoder.encode(subject) //Here I am getting this error Class 'JSONEncoder' requires that 'ErrorMonitoringWebPlugin' conform to 'Encodable' let decoder = JSONDecoder() let decodedSubject = try? decoder.decode(ErrorMonitoringWebPlugin.self, from: data!) XCTAssertEqual(subject.identifier, decodedSubject?.identifier) } } The compiler throws an error saying: Class 'JSONEncoder' requires that 'ErrorMonitoringWebPlugin' conform to 'Encodable' Even though the @CodableInit macro is supposed to generate conformance, it seems that this macro-generated code is not visible or active inside the test target. How can I ensure that the @CodableInit macro (from SwiftCodableMacro) is correctly applied and recognized within the XCTest target of my main project?

Confirmation on the Use of MDM Vendor CSR Certificates in On-Premises MDM Solutions
We are developing an MDM solution. In addition to the cloud-based version, we are also developing an on-premises version of the MDM solution for organizations such as government agencies and other entities for whom using public cloud services is difficult. In such cases, regarding the "MDM vendor CSR certificate" to be included in the on-premises package: Would it be acceptable to use a certificate owned by our company (the MDM vendor)? Or would it be necessary for the client organization to prepare a new certificate themselves?

Is it possible to embed dependencies within a .xcframework?
I'm creating a .xcframework in order to deliver an api/functionality to a customer for inclusion into an app. I'm doing it as a .xcframework as I want it to be a binary so that the source code isn't accessable. The xcframework has dependencies on modules which are installed via SPM (there are a few, an example is PhoneNumberKit) When I build the xcframework and then add it to a test program and invoke its api then there's a run time error saying "PhoneNumberKit/resource_bundle_accessor.swift:44: Fatal error: unable to find bundle named PhoneNumberKit_PhoneNumberKit" How can I build the xcframework so that its dependencies are included within it? (Stepping back a bit, is an xcframework an appropriate approach for this?)

Cannot debug app-extension-safe frameworks in main app
The code in my app is split into frameworks that I can use both from my main app and its app extensions. In order to use the frameworks inside the app extension, I need to build them with the Xcode build setting Require Only App-Extension-Safe API set to Yes. When I do that, debugging framework code in my main app no longer works properly. I can set a breakpoint, but any attempt to print a value via p or po will give a set of errors like the following: error: module file /Users/.../Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/...-daqfgouagvlkudfebrmzrurogmld/Build/Intermediates.noindex/SwiftExplicitPrecompiledModules/_errno-B8I5WSZMM09RXHYLYEWSC1BLE.pcm cannot be loaded due to a configuration mismatch with the current compilation error: Objective-C App Extension was enabled in PCH file but is currently disabled How do I fix this?

Apple Developer Enrollment — I'm the LLC Owner but Getting Upload Error
Hey everyone, I’m trying to enroll in the Apple Developer Program as a company (LLC), and I’m the sole owner and CEO. I uploaded all the documents required, but when I try to re-upload the missing one using their upload link, I get this error message: “Sorry, you don’t have access. Your account isn’t authorized to upload files.” Has anyone faced this before? Is there a fix or do I need to contact Apple directly? Also, they’re asking for a business card or an employment verification letter — but I’m the owner and don’t have either. How do you handle this if you’re the only person in the LLC? Do I just create a business card or write the verification letter myself? Any help or advice would be much appreciated. 🙏 Thanks in advance!

Crash on saving an autocreated testplan in Xcode 16.3?
Is anybody able to save the autocreated testplan successfully with Xcode 16.3? I get a crash no matter what (different filenames, locations, machines, ...). Now created a template project: same thing. Xcode Version 16.3 (16E140) on macOS 15.5 (24F74) Known issue, or am I holding it wrong?
