Upload Symbols Failed when Archiving with Xcode 16
Hello everyone, We are seeing some warnings in Xcode 16 when I archive my iOS app for distribution. During the upload phase (either via Xcode Organizer ), I get an error like: WARNING: Upload Symbols Failed The archive did not include a dSYM for MyFramework.framework with the UUIDs: XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX Ensure that the archive’s dSYM folder includes a DWARF file for MyFramework.framework with the expected UUIDs. Question: How can these warnings be fixed? Is this warning safe to ignore if I know the vendor does not supply a dSYM for their framework? If I do need a proper dSYM for full symbolication, how should I request it from the vendor or generate it myself from an XCFramework?

FoundationModelsTripPlanner sample not working?
I installed Xcode 26.0 beta and downloaded the generative models sample from here: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/foundationmodels/adding-intelligent-app-features-with-generative-models But when I run it in the iOS 26.0 simulator on my Mac (Sequoia 15.5), I get the error shown here. What's going wrong?

Is there a way to limit the MusicKit JWT tokens to just the Apple Music API using scopes?
Hi, I'm generating MusicKit JWT tokens on my backend side and using it on the client side to query the Apple Music API. One concern I have is accidentally over issuing the scope of this JWT, resulting in accidental access more services than intended like DeviceCheck or APNS. Other than using separate keys for MusicKit and other services, is there a way to limit the generated JWT to only the Apple Music API (https://api.music.apple.com/v1/*) using the JWT payload scope?

Associating file extension with my application
My application uses a text file with an extension of .dssfilelist. On Linux I would register the Mime type and associate it with the application in the .desktop file. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <mime-info xmlns="http://www.freedesktop.org/standards/shared-mime-info"> <mime-type type="text/dssfilelist"> <comment>DeepSkyStacker file-list file</comment> <glob pattern="*.dssfilelist" /> </mime-type> </mime-info> I believe that I need to add stuff to the Info.plist for my application, but I also understand that CFBundleTypeExtensions is deprecated. So please could you show me what I now need to add to the Info.plist file so that these files will be registered as "text/dssfilelist" type and associated with my application and to associate a .icns file with it?

Xcode JSONDecoder playground fails with 'The LLDB RPC server has crashed.
If I create a playground project that uses a JSONDecoder I get the following error. The LLDB RPC Server has crashed. The crash log is located at ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports and has a prefix 'lldb-rpc-server'. Please file a bug and attach the most recent crash log. I have raised feedback for this, FB17702087, but I hope that there may be a workaround. The code I am using to try and get this to work is from The Apple Developer Documentation - JSON Decoder var greeting = "JSON Test 3" struct GroceryProduct: Codable { var name: String var points: Int var description: String? } let json = """ { "name": "Durian", "points": 600, "description": "A fruit with a distinctive scent." } """.data(using: .utf8)! let decoder = JSONDecoder() let product = try decoder.decode(GroceryProduct.self, from: json) print(product.name) // Prints "Durian" A screenshot of the playground showing the error The crash log (the file type has been changed to txt as ips file types cannot be selected for upload. lldb-rpc-server-2025-05-28-140832.txt

LaunchServices has returned error -10810
M3 MBP running Sequoia 15.4.1 and Xcode 16.4 Mac is (old school) AD bound Mac is managed by Intune, and is set to allow apps to be run from anywhere. When we try to build and run anything in Xcode, we get the error in the title. Pertinent log entries: mcxalr{94} ** Denying execute for uid=1474851099 path=/Users//Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/mactest2-gevqwurjuobygdaiwboubirauoxv/Build/Products/Debug/mactest2.app/Contents/MacOS/mactest2 If we run it from an AD account that is set up as a local admin, then we get the OS dialog saying: You don't have permissions to use the application "mactest2." For more information, contact the person who set up your account. If that user logs out, and we log in with a "true" local admin account (UID 501), then we get the same results, BUT the OS dialog gives us the option to grant access to the app. (for whatever reason, the auth dialog seems to be created by ScreenTime.) Signing is set up correctly, but we're not trying to distribute anything, just literally trying to run the generic "hello world" default macOS app project.

Privacy - Siri Usage Description being reset to default text "Describe why your app needs Siri access" on generating archive
I have an iOS app and that has CarPlay enabled. I have Siri capability and the feature has been tested in Car. The voice commands are working perfectly fine. However, I am facing a weird issue as described below, The key NSSiriUsageDescription, is set to custom text in info.plist. After generating archive, I exported and checked the package contents, in which the the key NSSiriUsageDescription was reset to default text(Describe why your app needs Siri access) in the info.plist. I do not have any dynamic build process that's writing to the info.plist. Only the Siri key is being reset, rest of keys like camera/location permissions are intact. Kindly suggest what needs to be done at my end

Xcode build system has crashed after adding opencv to macApp
Hi, I am currently working on a MacOS App, where I need the undistortion function of opencv. But after I tried to add opencv to my project, I get following error: unexpected service error: The Xcode build system has crashed. Build again to continue. Cleaning the build folder also doesn't help. Does anyone have an idea what could be the issue? Ryan

Xcode 16.3 repeatedly log causing CPU leak
Xcode 16.3 repeatedly logs a same message very frequently, as fast as a single thread can. I use Instruments and Console and find out the log is: Needs flush! by -[DNTBrotliDecoder decodeBytes:length:] in DNTDocumentationSupport. The call is on a single non-main thread. I've tried to clear caches and it seems doesn't change. Yet I don't know exact point when the logging starts since launch. Fortunately, this thread is dispatched at E cores, bringing approximately 2 watts of power load to my Mac. Environments: macOS 15.4 (24E248) Xcode 16.3 (16E140) M4 chip

Predictive code completion is not working for existing project.
My project was created on a Mac with an Intel processor. Predictive code completion is enabled in Safari settings. The predictive model is loaded. However, the predictive typing does not work. For new projects it works. I took the following steps to fix this problem: 1. Ensure Indexing is Enabled and Up-to-Date: Enable Indexing: In Terminal, run the command defaults write com.apple.dt.XCode IDEIndexDisable 0. Clean and Rebuild: Go to "Product" > "Clean Build Folder" in Xcode. Then, rebuild your project. Check Derived Data: Xcode uses a "DerivedData" folder to store build artifacts. Try clearing this folder by navigating to ~/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData and deleting its contents (you can use the command rm -rfv * in Terminal). 2. Verify Xcode Settings: Enable Predictive Code Completion: Go to Xcode > Settings > Text Editing > Editing and ensure "Predictive code completion" is checked. Check for Predictive Code Completion Model: In Xcode, go to Settings > Components. Ensure the "Predictive Code Completion Model" is downloaded and installed. If it's not, try downloading it by clicking the "+" button and selecting it. Disable and Re-enable: Try disabling predictive code completion in Xcode's settings and then re-enabling it. But this not help. I use latest macOS and Xcode.

Enterprise Account does not show "Sign in with Apple" capability
I am trying to create an AppId to support Sign in with Apple from my web app. This capability is not availability. An AI query suggests that this is not supported with an Enterprise account, though I cannot find any links/information to support this. Is this a known issue?
